Kouji wandered through the bush alongside his companion for this mission, it was still early days. A lopsided smirk on his face as he looked out.

”Yeah, looks like it. Though, it could just be someone’s secret base too.” He said with a shrug, there were a lot of those abandoned out there, and well, those were worthwhile too.
[break][break]
”I’ll take a look.” He said as he snaked his way forward, a look on his face that spoke of his determination to prove himself, taking small passes through the taller grass, and then leaning up against a tree, looking over his shoulder. This was certainly over the top, but at the same time, he couldn’t quite break out of this character.

He pointed at the other tree, and then at the building, there was definitely something there, that was for certain.

Kouji almost fainted at that moment. ”Wait, really? That’s boring.” He said with a sigh, he was more of the puncher, get into the action kind. This kind of mission was boring for him, but that was just something he had to accept.

But that meant looking around. ”If this is the bunker, you think there’s a secret base around here too? Would be a good way to hide both of them, or maybe this one is someone’s?” A lot of them existed in hoenn, he was aware of that. Kids loved their secret hiding spots, until they didn’t.

Those always became a problem, somehow.

River seemed to have some brains, which was more than himself; Kouji was fine with that, he’d be the muscle if it came to it. ”Alright, lets look around then.” He said as he raised his hood over his cap, and then slapped his hands into his pockets. ”Wanna take another look around the front, while I check the back?”

He stepped forward, walking right into the clearing itself; it was brazen move rather than sneaking, he was taking the obvious, straight forward path. But that was fine, if one was careful, then they’d just think he was alone.

But in reality, he just didn’t want to walk the whole way around.

"i... guess i can." in-truth, river didn't want too in the slightest; he didn't want to be here at all, admittedly. but, he moves regardless, leaves crunching beneath his lethargic steps.

Kouji couldn’t catch sight of River anymore, but he knew just what he needed to do; stepping forward into the clearing, he took a look at the bunker. Rounding it, and looking around it, he looked at it. His hands did not go into the door, but he did feel somewhat uncomfortable with the fact, it was a strange thing, but it was true.

It looked clear, no troubles this far in, they could take it, but at the same time…That wasn’t their mission. He saw the last time he had gone off on his own script, and how that ended up, better back away now, and wait to see what River would be able to pull up.

And get ready to support him just in case, but he did get the feeling he was being watched.

Kouji Matsubara was being watched, of course. a masked feline stood atop a nearby branch, lip curled in coy amusement. she was the warden of this bunker; tasked to oversee and report all strange oddities.

this certainly qualified.
[break][break]
the grass-type goes through a number of thoughts, and ideas, before finally settling on one. she'd prepare for them a welcoming present. from her cloak, meowscarada grabs for a small orb-sized flower. she tosses it limply into the field where Kouji Matsubara stands, before she starts the long-process of reporting to her master.

not that it would be necessary. her SEED BOMBS were quite effective.[break]

Kouji heard a sound, his body tensed up as he turned around; the look of something falling down; hitting the ground, and he had only a couple of moments, seconds even, to move out of the way before those seed bombs exploded, there was something here. He didn’t know from where, but he covered his head as it exploded, and found himself almost flung across the clearing.

Something broke his soaring through the air, a tree. He crashed against him, his back screaming in pain; the rest of his body in almost just as much, he couldn’t believe it, but he should have expected it in one way or the other. He took out his pokemon, Absol; and waited with bated breath.
[break][break]
”We don’t have much time huh? Hey, partner. Looks like this is being watched and protected.” Kouji spoke aloud to his partner, or rather, to River without naming him, not looking for where he would be.

He wasn’t a snitch.

Kouji rubbed his back, and moved around; though he hissed in pain. ”A few cuts, and maybe a pulled muscle.” He said as he checked himself over. ”Everything else is fine.” He noted, and then looked back at the pokemon in the distance.

He had to sigh, it was a sad result in the end. ”Aye.” He agreed, and so as he looked upon that cigarette, he couldn’t help but liken it to his hopes of a fight, only the ash of retreat remained. ”Let’s get outta here then.” He said as he cracked his neck, yet kept his Absol out.
