Today he had decided to take a little break. Usually he would be patrolling but he had decided that perhaps some time spend catching Pokémon with his partners was needed. He knew they would enjoy the chance of taking on other Pokémon. It was something he hadn’t done in awhile.

It wouldn’t just be him and his Pokémon this time though. He had found someone looking for a partner in catching Pokémon. Deciding he could be of help he had gotten together with the other person to talk over details. Apparently the guy was seeking out a steel type and since he wasn’t overly picky about what Pokémon he got it was decided that they would try catching Pokémon in the silent icelands.

Reaching the meeting spot he looked around. He was the first person there and looking at his watch he realized he was a bit earlier than the intended meeting time. It was starting to become a habit. But it wasn’t like it was a bad habit. Better early than late after all.

While he waited he checked through his items to make sure he had everything. Pokeballs check, snacks in case they got hungry or something happened check, bottle of water check. Content he had everything he closed up his bag.[break] Thomas Benoit

Returning to the Silent Icelands was never an easy task for Thomas.

After the battle of Littleroot, he wound up crossing through the area. And to his horror, found several Pokemon encased in icy prisons, unable to be thawed out, no matter what Thomas had thrown at them. That day, he vowed to free the trapped Pokemon from their icy tombs.

So when he and his new partner agreed to go here, Thomas solemnly got himself prepared with winterized clothing. Aside from seeking out Steel-types to add to his arsenal, maybe he could learn more about this wretched place.

Mikael wouldn't have to wait long at all for Thomas to arrive. Though the knight arrived first, Thomas would arrive before the scheduled time as well.

"Mikael, right? I'm Thomas.", the man with the scar greeted him, offering a handshake.

The other male seemed like a punctual person as well. Even going so far to arrive early than planned like he did. ”Seems like we think a like, we both arrived before the appointed meeting time,” he said with a small chuckle making sure his bag was properly closed. He didn’t want to be losing anything after all.

Hearing his question he inclined his head in agreement of what he said. ”That’s correct, it’s a pleasure to meet you Thomas,” he said as he shook the others hand. He was about to say something else when his Pokémon both let out a sound of warning.

Surprised he turned to see a Glaceon and a Sealeo heading towards them. His eyes darted between the two before he ordered his espeon to attack with umbreon standing on standby just in case something happened.

His espeon attacked with confusion first and the Glaceon used baby doll eyes on Aurora while the Sealeo used ice ball against her. Aurora didn’t allow the attacks to get her down though and attacked the Glaceon with psybeam. The Sealeo tried to attack with roll out which it managed to dodge before using morning sun.

While Aurora did that he threw a pokeball towards the Glaceon seeing that it was starting to get worn out. ”Nice work Aurora,” he congratulated the espeon as the Glaceon went into the pokeball. Now that would just have to see if the catch was successful.

"I suppose so.", Thomas replied to the man.

"Pleasure to meet you, as well.", Thomas started, before the cries of the Espeon and Umbreon duo alerted them to the coming of two Pokemon.

Much to his surprise, the two Ice-types ganged up on the Espeon. It seemed that whatever was going on with this place, it drew some ruthless Pokemon in.

Despite being ganked, the Espeon managed to hold her own, even weakening the Glaceon for a capture. He saw the Sealo coming in for another attempt at a Rollout. Quickly, he deployed his Galvantula, Thread. Using his Compoundeyes, the electric spider fired a bolt of Thunder from is mandibles.

The attack struck the Sealo, sending the walrus flying into the distance.

"You okay?", he asked his partner.

”Yes I wasn’t expecting the Pokémon here to be so fierce,” he told the other male calling Aurora to him. ”You okay girl,” he asked looking at her with concern. To reassure her owner she was fine she nudged his hand with her head. He patted her head before picking up the ball holding his new Pokémon before putting it away.

He then turned his attention to his partner. ”Ready to move on?” he asked gesturing towards the way forward. Once he had gotten some form of agreement he began to walk forwards. Aurora and Selene immediately fell into step behind him.

As he walked he took in the scenery around him. There was something almost eerie about the place. At least to him there was. Perhaps it was the silence of the place. Unless there was a Pokémon coming at them things were pretty quiet not counting the sound of their footsteps.

Though he was taking in the scenery he was also keeping an eye out for Pokémon. He hoped they wouldn’t just appear out of nowhere again. He hadn’t expected to be set upon so soon. They were just lucky that Aurora and Selene had noticed their presence when they did.[break] Thomas Benoit

The Espeon showing that she was alright was a relief to Thomas.

With the threat dealt with, he would recall his Galvantula. He would give his partner a nod, before they moved on.

Thomas had his hand near his Pokeball, ready to draw it as needed. Suddenly, a magnetic orb would float towards them. Thomas would send out Mordred to defend them. The Magnet Bomb latched onto the Ceruledge, before detonating, battering the haunted armor. A Magneton would float over to him, attempting to ram into him with a Gyro Ball.

The Ceruledge, vengeful and prepared, slashed at the cluster of magnets with his Bitter Blade. All it took was a single strike to drop the Magneton, and allow the Ceruledge to sap back some of his lost vitality.

Thomas quickly tossed a Pokeball at the fallen Magneton.

Seeing the two Pokémon his Pokémon got ready in case Thomas needed a helping hand. Surprisingly the Escavalier wasn’t engaging. Both of his Pokémon were ready to jump in if needed though. He supposed it just be intimidated by Aurora and Selene even if he was the only one that knew that they wouldn’t gang up on a Pokémon themselves.

Luckily Thomas was able to capture the Magneton without fail and seeing it was no more outnumbered the Escavalier fled. Once it was clear the Pokémon was truly gone Aurora and Selene returned to his side. ”I guess Escavalier thought my Pokémon was going to gang up on them. They wouldn’t ever do anything like that though,” he told the other male.

Once his companion had received his captured Magneton he began to move forwards again. This time he kept even a fiercer eye out for wild Pokémon to catch. Though he wasn’t against going in the opposite direction of some wild Pokémon if neither of them were planning on catching the Pokémon in question.

Both of his Pokémon were also staying alert. Neither wanting the first encounter to repeat itself. He would make sure not to allow it to happen either. He didn’t know what he would do if something happened to either of them.[break] Thomas Benoit

"Strange.", commented Thomas. Normally, the Pokemon were hostile, and didn't really abide by honor. So why didn't the Escavalier try to aid the Magneton?

Perhaps it was afraid of the Ceruledge?

A dragon-like Pokemon with a mask of ice on its face attempted to tackle the trainer, only for the Ceruledge to stand between them. Immediately, the black knight subjected the dragon to a Bitter Blade. Unfortunately, the exposure to heat only seemed to make the dragon stronger, as she sent Icicles Crashing down on the knight.

The Ceruledge grunted in pain, and glowered at the strange dragon. In retaliation, he would mercilessly strike it down in Close Combat.

"I think you made your point, Mordred!", Thomas called out to the Ceruledge, who backed off before he could do anything permanent to the dragon. Thomas quickly tossed a Pokeball at the weakened dragon.

"Mordred means well, but given the nature of Ceruledge, he tends to overdue it.", he'd explain to Mikael.

He watched as the Ceruledge went after the dragon Pokémon attacking it mercilessly. He was relieved none of his Pokémon were like that. It made him think about that night. How merciless they had been when they struck down those he considered friends, family. He had seen a good bit of it before he went down. It was something he saw when he would go to sleep, it filled his dreams.

Blowing out air through his nose he watched as the other male called for his Pokémon to stop before catching the ice dragon. ”Well if it’s in its nature than it can’t be helped. All Pokémon are a blessing,” he said as he resumed walking after the other male had collected his new pokemon.

They hadn’t gone far when a Arctozolt and a Shiny Magnemite appeared. ”I’m going for the Magnemite,” he said gesturing for Selene to go after the Pokémon. Given orders his umbreon sprung forward immediately using bite the Magnemite so it used that time to use assurance.

Having recovered the Magnemite retaliated with thunder shock. Before attempted another thunder shock attack which she dodged. After dodging Selene used dark pulse and bite once more. Seeing that the Magnemite was being worn down he took out a pokeball and threw it at the Magnemite watching as it went into the pokeball.[break] Thomas Benoit

"Thank you for your understanding. Some people don't seem to understand that.", he'd tell the knight. "Though I can't help but worry about what would happen if he were to cross the line.", he'd continue.

An Arctozolt and a Magnemite wandered in. After his partner called dibs on the Magnemite, Mordred got into combat stance yet again. The strange fossil would Charge up. In turn, Mordred would Bulk Up in anticipation for the battle. The fossil would attempt to lunge at the Ceruledge with a Bolt Beak. Though due to its slow movements, the Ceruledge was able to dodge with ease, leaping to the right at the last moment, before retaliating with Bitter Blades.

The attack quickly felled the Arctozolt. The Ceruledge left well enough alone this time, content with the vitality he sapped from the strange Pokemon.
