The exact reason for detaining annalise henderson as a prisoner in Rocket was, frankly, irrelevant to Elisabeth.[break][break]

A former Head Ranger didn't really spark her curiosity. What this prisoner knew or didn't know was, ultimately, inconsequential.[break][break]

But the opportunity to interrogate her was a thrilling one, nonetheless. To have an excuse to behave as she liked, without consequence.[break][break]

"Miss Henderson."[break][break]

This time, there was no mask to shroud her face from view when she faced her captive. Carmine eyes narrowed ever so slightly, taking in the sight of the disheveled woman before her.[break][break]

The pitiful scene brought a wide smile to her lips.[break][break]

"A long way from home aren't we, hm?"

annalise looks rough, despondent, when Elisabeth Fiorelli stops in front of her cell. she sits with her back against the far wall, knees tucked up against her chest with bruised arms looped around them protectively. she doesn't raise her head at the sound of her voice, but her fingers curl white-knuckled in anticipation of scenarios that bloom like starbursts across her anxiety-laden mind.[break][break]
"A long way from home aren't we, hm?"

she's always hated the way team rocket members seem to talk like they're movie antagonists. somewhere deep in her stomach, she feels the nostalgic burn of it as she looks up through overgrown bangs at the woman standing over her, gaze hollow as it traces the pleased expression on her face.

It seemed an odd priority to capture this Annalise, in Elisabeth's mind. There were surely higher level targets and priorities during the battle in Dewford. People like, say, PENELOPE LIVY, MATIAS SILPH, or FERNANDO SILPH.[break][break]

Which meant the information she could glean from Annalise, in terms of League knowledge at least, was fairly slim.[break][break]

"As it happens, I came here to ask you a favor."[break][break]

Her voice became cloyingly sweet as she drew closer to the captive. Pale hands wound around the iron bars almost tenderly, the Cupid's bow of her red lips framed between them.[break][break]

"I'd do something in return for you, of course. No flower flourishes in captivity."

silence is provocative, but the dark-haired woman remains on her side of the bars. the promise to speak enough for them both is met with no response, just the guarded stare of an animal cornered. she doesn't trust her, just like she didn't trust any of the other rockets who have approached her cell since she's been brought here. [break][break]whether they come kind or cruel, she knows they have no qualms about reducing their sympathies down to fists and pokemon attacks when no information surfaces.[break][break]
annalise's heart beats harder against her chest as Elisabeth Fiorelli moves closer to her cell, hands grasping the only thing putting distance between them. for the first time since she arrived, annalise moves. it's a subtle press of her shoulders further against the back wall, screaming her desire to push herself into the concrete digging into her back and disappear from this situation entirely.

the wall doesn't give. it never does. she's trapped here with this woman and an offer that makes her feel more afraid than curious. she blinks, tries to clear a dry throat.

"i can't help you," she rasps at last. there's no bite to her rejection, just the weary admission that she's too tired, too trapped, to entertain any sweetly-spoken trades.

And with a disarming smile that seemed at odds with the captive's predicament, the underboss blew a kiss through the bars.[break][break]

Nothing seemingly happened, at first. It began as a faint aroma. Something sweet, carried through a trickling of pink glitter that suddenly swept through the previously stagnant air.[break][break]

Not quite enough to overwhelm, but enough to tantalize.[break][break]

To tempt.[break][break]

"I want you to help me understand something, that's all."[break][break]

Lab rats for this particular experiment were few and far between. And she'd already used up Zev Harcourt.

she huddles with the thought, a bystander to stand witness wherever her fate might fall at the hands of this dark-haired woman. her gaze follows the motion of her hand, her confusion marked by the barely-perceptible knit of her brow beneath the matted curtain of hair.

and then something sweet hits her nose.

the scent reminds her of life beyond this cell, even if she can't place it. her chest rises as she breathes it in unwittingly, clinging to the strange comfort it brings her. she raises her head to look at Elisabeth Fiorelli properly. even in the dingy light, her eyes seem unnaturally dark, dilated pupils ringed with receding blue.[break][break]
"understand what?" she asks after a beat, voice stronger this time.

Being an underboss afforded her so many privileges, all with the expectation that the woman utilizing them had Rocket's best interests in mind. Perhaps she'd once played that role of yes-woman better, meekly lowering her head and letting the powerful men play their stupid little games.[break][break]

Now, she reveled in the selfishness this freedom afforded her. If it meant using prisoners for her own ends, regardless of their inherent worth to Rocket, who would stop her?[break][break]

Who could accuse her of invoking the powers of a dead god?[break][break]

"This won't hurt, I promise. On the contrary, I'm told the taste of it feels sublime. Like letting go of whatever burdens you, and embracing who you are finally free to become."[break][break]

Her smile widened as her fingers curled about the bars. One unwound itself to crook towards the Ranger, beckoning. With the motion, more mist plumed forth from her fingertips, drawing a spiraling trail of rose-pink towards her captive.[break][break]

"Come closer, and I'll show you."

but annalise hadn't been touched by a god. the kiss blown by Elisabeth Fiorelli , as far as she understood, had just been team rocket eccentrics. even without the mist clouding her thoughts, she can't see the insidiousness of their encounter over the hedge of pain, fatigue, and hunger that grows in a tangle in her mind.

the words die in her throat, relenting to the honeyed words of her captor. she would like to taste something sublime, she thinks, rising unsteadily to her feet. her palm scrapes rough against the wall as she takes her first uncertain step towards the front of her cell, guided by a trail of pink mist and the promise of feeling something — anything — that isn't just suffering.

she walks forward until she reaches the bars separating them, one hand reaching out to grasp at the cold iron to support herself. her eyes are dark, hungry, anticipating the other woman's next move.

Long fingers took hold of the younger woman's chin, lifting it up so that blue eyes met her carmine head-on. The underboss smiled down at her, the gesture lacking in all warmth, as she assessed this former Head Ranger that had been brought into Rocket's care.[break][break]

Pretty blonde girls like this one left Elisabeth particularly sick to her stomach. They stirred memories in herself that she didn't care to recall, of someone else locked away and far too long left at the mercy of her captors.[break][break]

How weak.

But this would prove a reprieve from this one's suffering, or so Elisabeth told herself.[break][break]

"What hunger rages within your heart, I wonder?" she murmured as she leaned in tantalizingly closer. Sweet-scented mist sparkled on her lips, rosy and enticing, as her mouth claimed the Ranger's in a bastardization of a tender kiss. The flow of MISTY TERRAIN breathed from one host into another, heady and intoxicating, as it filled the woman's lungs like pink smoke.[break][break]

And although Elisabeth herself had no concept of how it might feel, the sensation that annalise henderson knew would be euphoric, stirring embers deep within herself that she'd never known could burn so fiercely. All this aching pleasure was condensed in a single moment, and when Elisabeth broke away, the shivering thrill of something being severed settled in the air between them.[break][break]

What have I unearthed within you? Elisabeth's eyes silently asked the captive, watching her expectantly. What is it, exactly, that FERNANDO SILPH did to freya morningstar and his pink ladies?[break][break]

extensive use of the fog can be used to alter a victim's personality (with consent). this can skewer their mental state. repeated exposure to this fog will prove addictive.

the mist makes her pliant. obedient. fingers grab her chin to lift her face, but she doesn't pull away. some small, rational part of her mind screams for her to pull away as the dark-haired woman leans in, but she doesn't. she doesn't fight the persuasion of Elisabeth Fiorelli 's lips as they brush against her own —

she falls into it.

pink mist fills her mouth as she unconsciously leans into it. she's too hungry, too desperate to resist the trap set out for her. nothing feels as good as this, as good as her. in a stretch of time that feels both long and terribly short, nothing else matters. even her desire to be free shrinks down to something insignificant and easily discarded. [break][break]
and then elisabeth pulls away, taking it all with her.

annalise sucks in a breath through her teeth, drawing in the residual mist in her mouth, and lunges at the bars. the cell door rattles against her weight as she reaches one hand out to grab at the woman beyond the threshold.

she's afraid of feeling what she felt before elisabeth lured her in.

Emptiness, rather than the satisfaction of exploring her own sick curiosity, consumed Elisabeth as she stepped back from her captive.[break][break]

Quickly, that hollow emotion curdled into disgust.[break][break]

How animalistic this blonde, blue-eyed child looked, lunging at the bars between them as the girl begged for a salvation only Elisabeth could give her. Is the pleasure of it that overpowering? she wondered idly, remembering the almost longing tenor that had threaded itself into the fear of freya morningstar's voice. Does it make you forget your pain?[break][break]

What might that sort of numbing bliss feel like? To free yourself from the shackles of your body and mind, if only for a second?[break][break]

She'd never know, she supposed.[break][break]

The once-prevalent nightmare of a pink noose tightening about her throat was abruptly dismissed and forgotten. Instead, an ironic and baseless envy twisted and knotted deep inside of Elisabeth; grudges proved a fertile ground for her Ruinous sister's vice, and now, she felt herself drowning in its flames.[break][break]

"Tell me." The underboss's voice sharpened, snapping with the ruthless demand of a whip. "What do you feel, child? Be detailed."
