Julien Demassieux

As a character, Julien is inspired by the titled and landed aristocracy found in fiction such as Bridgerton, Downton Abbey, and A Song of Ice and Fire. In particular, I draw on the themes and aesthetics of HOUSE STARK OF WINTERFELL for his backstory and upbringing. As such, tropes that contribute to his character concept are Old Money, Blue Blood, and Non-Idle Rich.

However, Julien is much more clever and capable than Ned Stark ever was. As a politician, he understands how to play the game and seeks every advantage for his home region, Kalos. Other tropes contributing to Julien's characterization in this vein are Ambadassador and Minored in Asskicking.

MOTIVATIONS

COUNTRY: As the ambassador of Kalos, Julien's primary motivation is to enforce and support the interests of his home region within Hoenn. In particular, Kalos is alarmed by what happened to Galar and does not wish the same fate to befall upon them.

FAMILY: On a more personal level, Julien is interested in furthering his family's influence in Hoenn by two avenues. First, his older brother, the Duke of Snowbelle, is also the CEO of their family's company, Gigavolt Energies. Bringing GE to Hoenn could open up doors of opportunity.

And second, the Demassieuxes have had ties with Team Rocket's Kalosian branch for the past three generations, funding their operations and receiving benefits in return. By connecting with Team Rocket in Hoenn, Julien can ensure the continued support of both his local efforts and his family abroad.

CURRENT PLOTS

KALOSIAN AMBASSADOR
Julien is the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary representing Kalos in Hoenn. His task is to ensure the Hoennians have their various supernatural problems under control—or, at least, that they are actively working to prevent them from spreading beyond their borders. He is more than willing to join them in their endeavors if it means preventing the same destruction from reaching Kalos.
