It’s unnatural and terrifying, but so, so intriguing. Eva can’t take her eyes off it. The core pulsed like a heartbeat, bathing them in eerie purple light.

Her mind struggled with the desire to eliminate the anomaly as well as preserve it for study, “Amazing,” she breathed quietly, mostly speaking to herself. Her fingers flexed into fists, long nails digging into the flesh of her palms. The sharp sting grounded her, “Together?” she asked, looking over to Callan Young. Her arms extended, offering him a hand to take.

They split the brunt of the otherworldly attack - and it’s still overwhelming. Her breath comes shallower, quicker. The tendrils of fear burrow into her core, squeezing her heart as it pounds against the onslaught of adrenaline.

“Hang in there,” her hand squeezes his in reassurance. Her pained emerald eyes lose focus on the glittering stars that surround them and focus on the mining expedition around them. There’s a greediness in her gaze, a thirst for knowledge that could only come with discovery. But at what cost?

A CLOYSTER erupts from a pokeball on her waistline, blasting back an invading NIHILEGO with HYDRO PUMP so it doesn’t interrupt their efforts. It could also offer them PROTECTION if the weight of the chaos becomes too much.

Callan's own belt releases a COMFEY, which SAFEGUARDS across the mining area before its FLORAL HEALING wafts against their Pokemon, as they FOCUS ON HEALING AND DEFENSES. "It looks like there's a few Pokemon seeking to breach our position."

Just as well. His Comfey seats itself against his wrist. "What do we hope to establish, learning about this accursed organ?"
