Hand extended to grace the side of Tropius' trunk as they would walk, Desiree would continue down the trail while soaking up the summer sunset to her fullest extent. A mystical aroma of sweetness soon appeared on the trail, accompanied by pink floral blossoms from the bushes- it was almost unnoticeable due to her cigarette but was definitely apparent. Curiously extending her hand outward into the bushes of fleur, the petals and their leaves felt soft to the touch, though clearly had thorns deeper into their gathering of stems.[break][break]

Further down the trail, the path split around a little quaint tree and a bench, the perfect resting spot. Lowering herself on the metal seat for two or three painted white, adorned with floral designs, the pinkette looked into the tree with fascination. Upon the branches appeared a few adorable yet sleepy Cherubi, waddling about the natural tiny wood bridges with ease and tired eyes. One of them appeared to have a strange glint about it, standing out from the rest and catching Desiree's eye due to its luster.[break][break]

Bobbing the second segment of its body with each step on the branches it would take, the demeanor of the wild pokemon and its entire species seemed extremely docile and mellow. Raising one of her safari balls in hopes to add it to the party of nature lovers, Desiree would be quick to attempt a catch on the lustrous Cherubi by tapping it with the button, soon awaiting victory or defeat. It was such an adorable little pokemon, she just had to try to bring it home; but it was even more adorable just how the species looked like cherries on a cherry tree, waddling about.

Once the pokeball signalled that its attempted capture was a success, Desiree would smile in delight, slipping the ball into her strawberry-shaped purse. It was quite a magnificent feat that pokemon species had the ability to bear differing colors, unique and rare; she wondered just what caused this to happen, was it some sort of genetic mutation? Scientific thoughts like those were far above her, something she hadn't thought of since high school back in Kalos. Taking a snapshot of the tree that looked to bear cherries, though they were just wild Cherubi getting ready for a night's rest, she would continue on the path.[break][break]

Walking over a decadent bridge wrapped in roses and vines, the pinkette would look down from the center. Below the bridge was a cascading river, and though the sunset above was causing it to be quite the muffled sight in terms of colors, it was still beautiful nevertheless. On the edge of the water appeared to be a blue bird-like pokemon that she had never got the chance to see before, almost guaranteed to be native to countries other than Kalos. That, or she was just always in the wrong places at the wrong times to catch a glimpse; it looked as if it were gulping up little fishies with its beak.[break][break]

Ashing her cigarette in one of the provided ashtrays at the center of the bridge, she'd take note of this wild Cramorant's eating habits and continue on the path. The wild pokemon looked kinda silly trying to fit a fish that big in its neck, but it was quite impressive how it was able to eventually get it all the way down. Desiree's Clefairy found this to be quite amusing as well, but soon the munching bird was out of sight.

Continuing on the embellished trail of roses and thorns, Desiree's cigarette was almost out; so what better thing to do than put it out, discard it in an ashtray, and light another one? Sparks flew when she'd light the tip of the blueberry cigarette, inhaling the fruity flavor and appearing sparkly-eyed in response. The Tropius, Banaynay, was not the biggest fan of the secondhand smoke, causing her to flutter the leaf wings on her back in an attempt to dissipate the haze faster than ever before.[break][break]

Though, as she stepped off of the bridge back onto the natural parts of the manmade route, the pinkette would begin to notice that there were a few piles of ash here and there; no active burning, but they looked to have been tampered with. Was there a fire in this part of the safari zone? It was mildly concerning at first, but as she heard a few corresponding yips on the outskirts of the treeline, a feeling of nostalgia and recognition would ensue. Her eyes scanning the horizon, she saw nothing at first, but upon closer inspection of a bush, she saw the fluff of fire-type manes.[break][break]

Exhaling more smoke from her cigarette, a few wild Growlithe would shoot out of the bush in question, running about and beginning to roll around in the pile of ash and dirt. It was an adorable sight; rustling in her bag in an attempt to find Beanbean's pokeball so he could play with the wild babies of his species, Desiree would feel literally everything in her bag. But then she remembered- he was out running the tracks with a bunch of other trainer's dog-type pokemon in search of the remains of the Galarian legendary dogs. Sighing and ceasing her search for the pokeball of her fire-type riding pokemon, she'd raise her hand out to stroke one of the baby's manes before continuing on her search. This would be a little secret she wouldn't tell Beanbean because he'd get the biggest fomo.

Footsteps led to another bridge passing a river-like formation, appearing to be covered entirely by vines and flora, Desiree would continue down the path accompanied by the group. The sun was preparing to make its way down the horizon; the sky was now appearing entirely coated in dark pink and orange. Saying goodbye with her heart at the notice, the final sun rays hid themselves behind clouds. Flickering for a moment, the lanterns and small ground lights would turn on, illuminating the path and its surroundings surprisingly well.[break][break]

"Would the three of you like some treats~?" Looking behind at the three pokemon that had accompanied her to the safari zone, they would all seem to nod excitedly, moving to the edge of the bridge so others could pass if they were to appear. Taking a handful of candies out from her purse and a corresponding mat, she'd lay it upon the bridge's bottom. Spreading the treats apart, the three pokemon would munch down, the Flabebe taking her time.[break][break]

Though, a little figure would pop out from behind one of the Tropius' legs, slowly sulking onto the mat to take a bite of its own. It seemed to be some kind of slug pokemon with super sharp spikes; Desiree had yet to see one of these pokemon as well, but it was too cute to shoo away (if it were even possible)! As it would indulge into the abundance of treats, she would take a snapshot of it with her phone camera and send it to her mother.[break][break]

It had been too long since she reached out.

Her phone would be quick to buzz back, a corresponding text from her mother; Misty Titania loved the sight of adorable little Pincurchins and sent her a link to an article about how their natural predator was Mareanie, both living at the bottom of the ocean. Desiree felt the tiniest bit bad that they were hunted by the poison-type species, but their electric spikes did prove rather effective as protection. Before long the wild electric type had flopped over the side of the bridge into the water, a few treats shishkebabed on its spikes. Folding up the treat mat and its contents and beginning to place it back into her purse, she would notice another bobbing head approaching from the opposite end of the bridge.[break][break]

It was none other than a wild Ralts, a species that the idol was quite in the know of in comparison to most of the others she had encountered in the zone. Though a bit shy, its eyes were on the treat-bundled surprise; its little hands would reach out toward the purse as if it wanted a treat of its very own. Desiree's Flabebe would be quick to float over to accompany the psychic type in her bridge perusal, letting her know that everything was okay. Coming off as reserved, it would seem hesitant at first but would recognize with its telepathy that it had nothing to fear.[break][break]

Desiree would kneel down once more, digging out a few of the bundled-up candies and holding them out towards the Ralts. It would take them willingly and begin to take little tastes, dissecting the flavor whilst looking up in gratitude. Being one of the featured pokemon that the pinkette had specifically come here for, she would press one of the buttons of the safari pokeballs on her head, encapsulating her in light for a moment. Hopefully, her gift of treats would be enough for the capture to prove a success; the fairy-type trainer knew they would be the best of friends in the long run.

Picking up the freshly contained pokeball and slipping it into her strawberry purse, Desiree would be quick to pick up her Clefairy and hold it in between her arms while they walked across the rest of the bridge. The Flabebe and Tropius would follow, the smaller floating to rest on top of her trainer's head; it almost looked like a floral antennae, or a sprout, from her pink ever-expanding waves. Sunlight only ceased to show in the almost-disappeared sunset, meaning the rest of their trek to the final parts of the zone needed to come quite soon.[break][break]

Finishing her cigarette and disposing of it in an ashtray, the fairy-type trainer would look around at the breathtaking scenery. With the light from the lanterns that lit the way and the sunlight, it looked like the forest around her was entirely black despite it still having color at the edges. It reminded her of her journies to Laverre City back in Kalos to visit her grandmother when she was young but without the giant mushrooms. Starlight the Clefairy's hands would wiggle outwards as if she were excited, noticing it too- but it was only an assumption by her trainer, as she saw the pink wild pokemon far before Desiree.[break][break]

Directing her attention with a little meep, the pinkette idol's golden eyes would soon dart to where Clefairy was pointing on the trail, spotting the bright pink color nestled in between two bushes. It looked like one of the pokemon that worked at the pokecenters, only so much smaller; a baby. Getting ready for a nap, or at least it looked like, the Happiny would hold onto the egg upon its waist as it would doze off, held up by a manifestation of branches.[break][break]

In her trainer's arms, Clefairy would sing towards the sleepy friend, causing it to fall into a slumber- but it didn't help much, as it was already falling asleep. Those cosmic calls were so serene sounding they almost put Desiree to sleep too, but her wish to name this her final catch of the night was more than enough to keep her awake for now. Taking her final safari ball out of her pocket, the pinkette would toss it towards the sleeping Happiny. She hoped waking up to friendship would be enough for the wild playhouse pokemon if the attempt was successful.
