Setsuna couldn't believe her luck.[break][break]

Well, it hadn't been luck really. It was true that Setsuna had been in the right place at the right time to hear Elise's voice on a radio some weeks ago. But it had been Setsuna's own resilience and resourcefulness that had helped her find Elise again - she had remembered her best friend's voice even without a face to go with it. And the pink-haired ranger had wasted to time in hunting down the 'Galaran ambassador". There had been tears, laughter, and lots of hugging during their reunion - but Setsuna wasn't one to be weepy, and though she had found Elise only a week ago it felt just like before to the samurai.[break][break]

It felt like they had just seen each other yesterday, and it was just a little easier to forget the smell of burning timber and singed flesh from ~~her nightmares~~ that night.[break][break]

"C'mon, you Slowpoke! Don't tell me being royalty's got you with a stick up your you-know-what!"[break][break]

Setsuna pulled her highness by the hand, just like when they were kids. Elise could hurry to keep up or she could be enthusiastically dragged along by her cheerful - slightly shorter - friend.[break][break]

"Look at all this stuff! How do they fit it all into one park!?" [break][break]

Setsuna would seem like a starry-eyed child as she gazed in wonder at the myriad attractions - before her eyes settled on Elise.[break][break]

"Ok, you pick what we do first. And don't try to put it on me, or I'm picking that." Setsuna jabbed a finger towards a rather intimidating sight: a huge, angry bull which was even then trying to remove a rider from its back. The clown (in full, painted regalia) barely held on to the rampaging Taurus - and was crying out in fear. Several men laughed while a few women held their hands to their mouths in surprise. Setsuna was laughing right along with the boys - and grinned mischievously at Elise.[break][break]

"Better pick quickly, Eli. Or I might just wanna see you try that in that dress~"

After being torn away from her friend for so long since the attempted invasion from Team Rocket on the Johto region and that the royal moved to Galar permanently to complete her education, there was good luck that the other woman contacted her through being in the Pokemon Ranger department. She shared hugs, tears, and a happy reunion with the friend she knew would be safe somewhere that the Rockets wouldn’t dare harm her.[break][break]

The park in Slateport had a carnival set up, so Setsuna was the one to drag her there. “I do not have a stick up my…you know what and I can relax when I take a day off from the office.” The royal replied to her friend in a serious tone while she tries to catch up with Setsuna’s speed through the carnival grounds. “The park is bigger, so they can fit most of the attractions there.” An answer comes from the female politician when they would come across a clown attempting to lasso a Tauros. [break][break]

If the female royal didn’t pick quickly, Setsuna teased that she wanted to see her friend in a dress. "I'm sure you'd really like to see me in one of my royal gowns, Setsuna." She does see another game that they could play which was a familiar one found in festivals in Ecruteak held annually with the stand having a line of people taking turns to fish out a mini Magikarp. "Did you want to play Magikarp Fishing? It reminds me of the Magikarp Scoop game in Ecruteak's New Years festival though it appears to be different." Elise suggests to Setsuna since her friend might be good at it.

Setsuna grinned as Elise did pick another game - one that looked a bit familiar to someone from Johto. Scooping for Magikarp in flimsy, paper nets was a common enough game at festivals in that region. Although this game seemed a bit different. Setsuna kept ahold of her friend's hand and walked the pair of them over to the Magikarp booth. She whistled at the sight of the Magikarp and then spoke up to the elderly man who tended this booth. Setsuna's tone was friendly even if her words were irreverent and casual.[break][break]

"Ay, pops! What's the deal with this game? Where's the nets? How're we supposed to scoop 'em up without a net?"[break][break]

There was an old man with a white bandana around his bald pate - and he grinned at the pair of young ladies despite missing a few teeth. He didn't seem to take offense to being called 'pops'. But he did gesture to a pair of fishing rods that were baited with brown clumps of pokéfood of some kind. His game was simple - just like the old man himself. He instructed the girls that all they needed to do was take a rod and see which of them could catch a fish first. [break][break]

Setsuna took hold of a rod and grinned at Elise - the fishing pole slung over her shoulder like a sword of some kind.[break][break]

"You don't stand a chance, Eli~ I'm a master angler these days! C'mon! Gimme your best shot!"[break][break]

And when Elise was ready, Setsuna would cast her line into the large kiddie pool full of gaping, vacant-eyed fish. [break][break]

Magikarp Fishing was very different in Hoenn than what she remembered playing the Magikarp Scoop game at a festival a long time ago, so she hears Setsuna complain to the older man about a game without nets to catch the Magikarp with. Watching the other woman take a fishing rod in hand with the condition to win being that whoever caught a Magikarp first was the winner, the royal huffs in pretend annoyance towards her childhood friend.[break][break]

“We will see who is the master angler, Setsuna. I will try my best to catch one before you do.” A reply came from the ambassador before she takes her own fishing rod and casts her line towards the water. Despite her boast, the Magikarp had taken long to bite, but she had to be patient for her to beat her friend.
