Keeping her eyes met on the tall grass that rustled beneath her feet, Desiree made her journey to Petalburg Woods with a want to check a few natural-growing herbs that were on her list. Mainly those that, upon being prepared with various techniques, would be used to create catalysts for recreational hallucinations and blossoming emotions- she wasn't the most experienced when dealing with breaking down compounds in what grew naturally in the forest's thicket, but was curious just how easy it would be to cut out the middleman. She had no ill intent in the slightest, just the want to allow the grim dread of her father's passing to fade away.[break][break]

With the effects of psilocybin mushroom spores, or perhaps mimosa hostilis, chacruna, cebil and yopo, or maybe yellow horned poppy, she felt it could be possible. White latex gloves shrouded her hands from any of the spores if she was to hold it if she were to find any at all; the thought that the blessing of the forest could truly bring her closer to enlightenment, or just maybe, the ability to face off against her father's inner demons that had haunted her. Those seemed like they would tie into one another.[break][break]

She knew it would be hard, but right now, she was determined. Walking beside Orchid the Lurantis, the two would look for any flashes of differing color near the edges of the treeline, amidst the grass. Those mushrooms she wanted to harvest would be a brown color, but right now, none were presenting themselves.

After walking a bit on the edge of the forest, the brown mushrooms she had been looking for were sitting in a little cluster right next to a winding system of tree roots. Leaning down and allowing Orchid to do the fine dicing of the mushrooms to uproot them from their mycelium network, the pink mantis would begin to delicately slice them from their stems one by one. Leaving one per Desiree's directive, they would now reside in a ziploc bag in her purse, ready to see the light of day when they were to arrive home.[break][break]

Riding upon the winds that crept through the tree line, a wild Whimsicott would appear, landing before the pinkette and her Lurantis with determined eyes; it was apparent that Desiree wasn't the only one set on plucking those fungi from the ground. Unleashing an array of multicolored spores from its tufts of cotton, it would afflict LEECH SEED onto the pink mantis, determined to begin a pokemon battle. Taking a few steps back, she would wish nothing more than to allow her fellow grass type to train, and once they were finished, a capture attempt for sure.[break][break]

The Whimsicott was just as mischievous as it was adorable; honing her sharp blades that resided upon her arms, Lurantis would use an extremely effective X-SCISSOR against her target. Though it was quite an effective attack, the roaming cotton fairy of the forest found itself just barely hanging on. Using an additional move, MEGA DRAIN, it would be able to seep just enough health away from Orchid to be able to continue its float.[break][break]

Despite the pink mantis wishing to continue until she was named the victor of this match, Desiree would throw a pink pokeball towards the Whimsicott; she didn't want to see it pass out alone on the forest floor, and with a wish for battling, it would be the perfect addition to the team. As she'd waited for the capture to ding three times, anticipating the success, she would begin to scan the grassy horizon once more for any herbs that were still on her list.[break][break]

Though, she was glad she wasn't going home empty-handed; these mushrooms would prove enough, for now.
