[attr="class","text"]Kouji ran a hand through his hair, another mission; but this time it was something that fit him properly, not making money, but hunting down traitors. With all that’s happened, he did need to blow off that steam, but he wasn’t sure whether he would get that chance, working with the man who had recruited him to Rocket, Admin Cross.

”Been a while Sir, hope your sleep was good.” There was a hint of a smirk on his face, that Galarian dream had been a mixed bag for everyone involved in it, and yet, at least for Kouji, it had been just what he had needed, even if it had only borne the fruits of resentment.

”The guy we got works in a city council now, insurance desk job.” He didn’t get it well, but he tried to understand. Supposedly things such as addresses and whatelse were important, information did flow to these towns, and more importantly, the administrative centres.

Too high grade, but he didn’t want to say that aloud, that was the old him, he’d try to understand now. ”So, we gonna tail him, or do we go straight to his house? He’s got a wife and kids.” A proper family man now, he’d done well for himself, but Kouji didn’t care; in fact it just made him feel even more annoyed with him.

it had been a while.

[break][break] months ago, he had recruited Kouji Matsubara into rocket. and in those months, he had watched - secretly - the owl-haired man rise through the ranks of rocket. it was impressive, but nothing that jayden was unsurprised by considering his pedigree.

[break][break] it reminded him of the way bryan delarosa had done the same, and the way that @gerard would eventually as well.

[break][break] "my sleep?" he echoed, as he slipped out of the PHANTOM FORCE portal near Kouji Matsubara. with a snap of his fingers, his dragapult vanished into light.

[break][break] as the mission details were given, jayden nodded with approval. he'd seen the report already.

[break][break] callum quill. son of prosecutor quill.

[break][break] the same prosecutor who had illegally bought stocks in the company that he claimed to represent, and manufactured evidence to get people unfairly prosecuted. it was just another example of how deeply the league was tainted and how far they were willing to go, all the while claiming goodness.

[break][break] "let's tail him - it'll give us intel on where his favorite spots are, and maybe we'll catch one of his rats in the process."

He wasn’t fond of the wait and see, violence was his preferred path; but he was trying out different things, to learn different ways. ”I’m not the best at tailing, so I’ll let you take the lead on that one.” Kouji would observe the more experienced rocket, gain whatever he could.

The only experience in tailing he had was before robbing his marks, it was different; intimidation made people take riskier paths. The knowledge they were being followed closed off their routes of escape.

This wasn’t that.

The first stop was simple, his office; a man like this was going to be working alongside others, the people he interacted with, the hours he stopped; the bench was only going to be a stop for a few moments as he went into his pocket to pull out a packet of cigarettes, he’d quit after the dream, but it was maybe time to worth it.

”Nice area though. Don’t look like it sees much crime, thank god. Prim and proper guys like us can’t handle that crap.”

Time was something that slipped through hands like water, droplets that joined together with a greater pool. Just like that, with time, the sea of people thinned out, and the surroundings were filled with a red tinge, the man they were looking for came out of the building, patting down his face with a towel.

[break][break] jayden leads the way through the crowd. unlike Kouji Matsubara, jayden had plenty of experience in tailing victims. in fact, he had done so recently, following after Katherine Fairburne with Felix Gallagher. but this was a less riskier task. this was moreso a formality.

[break][break] lights blinked like fire-type litwick in the distance, just as their mark stepped out of the building, patting his face with a towel. he had obviously just finished a work-out and it was probably going to be a bit before he returned home. men like him always had such a predictable path.

[break][break] "come on," the admin said, stepping into the dark. he slid along easily, hands into his pockets, as he kept an eye on their target.

[attr="class","text"]Kouji nodded toward the admin, eyes locked to his companion rather than their mark. He had no experience in tailing, but as a little street rat, he definitely knew how to rob a man, and to do that successfully, you didn’t look at them. He put the cigarette into his mouth, and lit it; the look of someone relaxed was easier with nicotine coursing through your veins.

Kouji slowed his steps, so he was somewhat behind Jayden, better to follow the other man’s lead even if Kouji felt impatient regarding the entire thing. He kept his mouth shut, making it look more like he was tailing his own partner in this.

As for their true target, the sweat had stopped, and he continued to walk simply, there were no obvious turns, no where he was going to switch to, until he entered a pub, a large building. It doubled as a restaurant of simple yet hardy foods. ”Galarian huh?” He muttered aloud before he got ready to turn into it, stomping the cigarette out underneath his foot.

the road was silent, as the two made their way through the city streets. the crowd shifted around them, providing them perfect cover, and Kouji Matsubara even moreso as he lit the cigerette that helped them blend in.

[break][break] soon enough, they came to a pub. disapproval shifted in jayden's gaze at the mention of galarian, though it was more for the man they were tailing than anything else.

[break][break] "yes, we are."

[break][break] with that, jayden pushed inside. immediately, he brought with the light scent of smoke and burnt cigars, but it was the warm and heady scent of galarian cuisune that drew the admin's attention. catching sight of the prosecutor's son was easy work, and jayden quietly slipped beside him on a bar stool.

[break][break] jayden picked up the menu that the other man seemed to be idling in his hands.

[break][break] "the sweet apple curry is delicious," he said. "don't you think?"

[break][break] he handed the menu over to kouji to take a look.

[attr="class","text"]When it came to places such as this, Kouji really never knew what to order, Galarian food wasn’t up his alley, but then again when he had the menu offered to him, Kouji raised an eyebrow as he heard Jayden speak. ”The hell you talking ‘bout, curry ain’t supposed to be swee-” He said as he looked at where the Admin had gotten the menu from before his eyes widened in realisation.

”Hah, guess it ain’t half bad, but jellied clamperl’s my go to here.” He said as he sat himself on the other side of the prosecutor’s son. ”What do you think buddy? Sweet Apple Curry? Or Jellied Clamperl?” Kouji asked as he turned to his right, and slapped an arm over the man.

”Name’s Kouma by the way.” Kouji said as he scooted on closer, closing off the space between them.

”I’m partial to a…Curry myself. Could you stop sitting so close to me? I don’t feel like giving my name to an over familiar ruffian.” The Prosecutor’s son said as Kouji didn’t give him the slightest bit of room.

”C’mon, c’mon, don’t be so distant man, don’t you think this guy is so standoffish?” He said back to Jayden.
