She liked his answers, but the the thunderbolt and the draining kiss could have been left out. Marshadow flies back, the electric shock and the draining kiss deal severe damage to his body as he struggles to stand up and he was severely weakened. She had to do damage control, as the sun within the misty terrain starts to disappear. Not like it mattered, it was still obscuring cherrim's usefulness. However it seemed like a dance partner change was in order "Peter! Return!" she orders as the pokeball's red string returns her pokemon to her side of the field. The song quiets for a bit as melody ponders her choices before she settles on a more recent debut.[break][break]

"Duckling!" she calls out as Ugly duckling the Quaquaval arrives onto the battle field only mere moments after and the song picks up again and Melody breaks it down in the song. Quaqauval flourishes with an ICE SPINNER into the air DESTROYING THE TERRAIN IN THE AIR as he rushes towards the KLEFKI with a swift icy kick [break][break]

She knew it wouldn't be much damage but she had to get Cherrim's FLOWER GIFT activated again as ANOTHER SUNNY DAY takes to the skies to boost her dance partner's ATTACK AND SPECIAL DEFENSE again. However the commentors in the stands continue to the cheer and Melody puts on a brave face, Navy had her on the back pedal and she had to start to wrestle back control of the battle from him.

That’s number five. His eyes look at her hip from across the battlefield. More than a nice view, he’s looking at the pokeballs. Five Pokemon have been used. Just one more. Just one more Pokemon lurks, and Navy knows which one is waiting for him.[break][break]
Guess I’ll be seeing dad soon.[break][break]
The smile seems more a smirk. Cobalion hates being called that, but he acts the point of a prissy father. On paper, Melody and Cobalion couldn’t be more different. Her sword of justice is far more of a diva than Melody could ever be. She’s downright pleasant and easy to deal with.[break][break]
But before them are more important matters. It looks like this battle is going to turn into an environmental battle. Thanks to prankster, Melody’s Pokemon is always going to win. Klefki shivers from the ice, knocked onto the backfoot.[break][break]
“Roland. Defend Kleffa.” His iron knight listens well, jumping back and standing in front of the key. With how small the keyring is, she’s able to hide under the Iron Valiant. Roland’s starting to get tired, but he’s got some more fight in him. Another thunderbolt launches across the battlefield at the poor Ugly Duckling.[break][break]
“That’s a mean thing to name your Pokemon, you know.” Navy muses, looking at the dancing duck. At least they’ll turn into a beautiful swan. Kleffa conjures a bird cage which sweeps across the field, locking them in. They’re imprisoned.[break][break]
“This swan’s not gonna fly!” He says, bluffing like the Klefki isn’t about to keel over. All he needs is one more attack…

"Cherrim!" she orders as he's distracted attempting to lower Quaquaval's health as the pokemon had no counter attack. Her Cherrim reacts quickly, loading up a SOLAR BEAM and firing instantly thanks to the SUN she managed to get back up.[break][break]

The SOLAR BEAM is directed right at Kleffa the klefki as she wanted to take advantage of the fact that that one of his pokemon was stuck attacking her quaquaval. The duck however is stuck taking on the brunt of the super effective attack, however despite the hard hit it recovers quickly landing quickly and letting it's knees bend down and it uses the force of it's landing and leaps high above roland as it drops down on top of it "Allegro!" she calls out as the pokemon uses ACROBATICS, first attempting to stomp on it's head and unleash a series of light blows, focusing on speed.

Kleffa’s rocked into next year. Navy’s no idiot. He knows that if he doesn’t pull her back, she’s going to tread dangerously close to the edge. Once pushed over it, this stops being a fun fight. It turns into real trouble – for everyone involved. Seeing the writing on the wall, he pulls out a pokeball. Kleffa’s pulled back in a flash of red.[break][break]
Like Callan likes to say – volition. Keep your head on straight. Know your limits. They say he’s a hothead, and he is, but he’s not so caught up in the moment as to be too far gone.[break][break]
Roland’s surviving. Somehow. The mighty bounce of the Ugly Duckling stomps him. His blade holds off the duckling – for now. Who knows how long that’ll hold up? Time to beat another retreat. Navy thumbs another of the pokeballs – one of a partner already recalled.[break][break]
“That’s enough, Roland. Everyone out there in the audience. Hold onto your seats.” Smaug returns and wastes no time. Cherrim’s sunlight empowers him, fills him with primordial strength. Two on one are bad odds, so he endeavors to not turn this into a two on one. Instead, he aims to even the playing field.[break][break]
Harnessing the power of the earthen crown upon his head, another earthquake kicks up. The ground rumbles. Navy stands, looking cool as a cucumber through it all. Just out of sight, he’s holding onto a rail for dear life.[break][break]
“Let’s see how these two like that.”

The earthquake rocks the field entirely, Melody braces for the dust to hurt her stage and she's left spitting out the dust. She grins at him, not disturbed by the fact the show paused for a moment as the music even continues without her vocals. [break][break]

You need his now though since it seems like he wants to battle for once." although she suspected this was because it was more of a personal match at this point. "So pick one pokemon that you can restore to full health, or a new one." she says as the sword of justice descends onto the stage and stares him down. His stare locked onto navy the entire time as an oppressive aura floated around him.

“Looks like you wanna fight too, huh? Well, Vortigern’s been looking forward to this.” As is always the case, he grins. His grin is a mirror of Vortigern’s bloodstained smile. Stepping out onto the stage, his black dragon stands tall – taller than any Garchomp should be. His body is lined with scars. His fin, torn by ’s Hydreigon, is a testament to his strength.[break][break]
Vortigern is many things. Reckless. Prideful. Brave. And he seizes the initiative, charging Cobalion. Seizing the initiative, he puts everything he has into the poison jab he thrusts at the sword’s proud chest.[break][break]

A rare moment occurs in the middle of the battle, Cobalion's expression shifts if only for a moment. If you blink you would have missed it, his eyebrow furrowed as vein pulsed on the Pokémon's head. It was obvious he was annoyed at how Navy had addressed him, Melody was confused about it. When did navy manage to get under his skin? [break][break]

Regardless, the sword of justice stood tall and stalwart, unbending to anyone else's will except his own. He stays in the exact same spot as Vortigern rushes forward with the POISON JAB. The pokemon takes the hit directly, staring at vortigern directly in the eye as the pokemon moves back barely from the pure force of the blow. The poison was ineffective against his steel body and heart and Cobalion decided to return the favor as his sword becomes covered in a purple draconic energy "Dragon hammer!" Melody shouts as she had taught him the move at that strange shine. [break][break]

He drops the hammer down onto vortigern to deliver a vicious counter attack.

This battle promises to be a bloody affair. Vortigern sees the counterattack coming. Instead of doing something as lowly as dodging, he gathers thunder in his maw. Each of his many teeth crackle with electricity. This is a trick he would never learn in the wild – a testament to the bond between Navy and the dragon.[break][break]
He shoots up, his thunder fang aimed right for Cobalion’s throat. Though the Sword of Justice might be made of solid steel, the dragon puts his whole being into this. He wraps his claws around the legendary sword as lovingly as he would a lover, as viciously as he would prey.[break][break]
This, and so much more, Navy feels through the sync stone. Gritting his teeth, he forces his own soul back to the surface. Closing his eyes, he remembers that he is Navy. The sensations of Navy the human are his. The visions of Vortigern’s life are those of something else, superimposed upon him.[break][break]
“C’mon, you can do better than that! Make Vortigern sweat, Pops! Put your back into it, unless you think you’re gonna break your hip!” He saves this tone for a select few. Tsubaki, Kyle, Melody herself. Though Melody may not remember the time she spent with Navy in Galar, Cobalion surely does. He bore witness to Navy’s vow, to love and cherish this songbird always. She felt as if she hadn't even been invited to her own battle as a personal grudge match erupted between the three males. She placed her hands on her hips as she watches on, not yet instructing cobalion herself. [break][break]

A sense of panic rises in Melody, she knows full well what Vortigern was capable of. However, Cobalion remembered full well how vicious this dragon was and that they'd need to outthink the predator. It manages to draw blood from Cobalion but a smirk appeared on the stubborn goat's face. [break][break]

His sword was caught in the beast's deadly grip, unable to pull it away easily through force. So he simply withdraws it, the sword retracts back into his head. Hopefully it caused Vortigern to lose it's balance and free the sword of justice from the beast's maw. He then draws his sword out again, this time allowing it to shimmer with the belief of justice as it unleashes a flurry of SACRED SWORD slashes. [break][break]

"You really have it out to taunt him don't you, just what happen in galar between you both?" she asks herself silently as she grew ever more curious.

Cobalion’s sword remains part of its body. Though it may be something he can retract into himself, the sword is still as much a part of him as his heart or lungs. So, when the sacred sword strikes the dragon, it demands a toll. It enacts damage upon the great sword’s body. As Vortigern bleeds, so too will the legendary blade.[break][break]
They’re opposites, he and this blade. They complete one another. Mankind is a species that thrives upon stories. What story spurs the heart like that of a valiant warrior fighting a dragon? Thrown off balance, Vortigern thrashes upon the floor as he rights himself.[break][break]
Slam! he thrashes against the stage. Slam, slam, slam! Nothing, not Smaug’s rampage or anything else done this night, is as terrible as the black dragon’s rage. It makes the earth tremble. Garchomp are kings. They do not rule the skies, as do the great Dragonite or Salamence. He does not rule the seas as a Kingdra or Gyarados does. He is lord of the land, and this great hero stands in his domain.[break][break]
His earthquake rumbles across the stage. Where others might stumble, he stands. Huffing out his rage, his golden eyes watch the sword.[break][break]
“Pops and me? We’ve got nothin’ against each other. I just made him make a promise when we were in Galar:” Navy looks at the hero with a dragon’s grin, “he’d always make sure I’m strong enough to keep up with you. That was his wedding gift, back then.”
