She still had pains, bone-deep ones that she would never admit to unless on her deathbed, but Nenet nonetheless took her husband's hand as they descended the stairs; her ankle still bothered her despite the passage of time.

For now, however, it was easier to ignore and instead focus on their Halloween celebrations for the puppies. In the spirit of the holiday Nenet's hair was slicked down and styled with finger waves breaking the silhouette of her vampire costume, a three piece suit immaculately tailored and enamel fangs that pressed against her plush lower lip.

"Thank you," she murmurs softly as the come to stand on the sidewalk.

Before she can speak again, however, their roving pack of bats yip and shriek in their excitement for trick-or-treating, and Nenet laughs at their antics. "We're going," she promises her infernal horde.

"Let's head east," Nenet decides. The pokemon take off in the indicated direction, with Jupiter the Yamper waddling as quickly as his little legs will manage in the rear.

Giving Zev's arm a squeeze, Nenet keeps her arm laced with his. "Do you think they'll sit for their treats," she asks, her voice low with amusement.

Watching the Yamper puppy as they speak of him, Nenet muses aloud, "I think he does know the trick but only does it when you have food in your hands. He's a bit of a bastard like that." The last sentence is spoken laughingly, her eyes bright.

She smiles brightly at the puppies and Luna as they all trundle proudly back with their buckets holding candies. "Good job, babies," she coos indulgently. "Next house!"

Zev swipes a rage candy bar from Luna's bucket as they move up the sidewalk. With a shake of her head, she lifts her free hand to tap at one of the enamel fangs adorning her incisor as she answers, "Can't with these in, I don't think. Save me one for later."

She gently squeezes Zev's arm still laced with hers and watches as the horde tramples up the steps for their next candy stop. Voice dropping low enough for Zev to hear, she murmurs appreciatively, "Thank you for indulging me and coming along."

As the puppy pack and Luna tread up to the next door, Nenet offers a warm smile, her hand gently squeezing Zev's arm by way of reply. Around them children out with their parents and others with pokemon dart here and through across the neighbourhood, their little lights bobbing with each step.

With a faint smile, Nenet opens her mouth to speak and then abruptly closes it as a gust of icy wind rips through the streets. Shivering violently, she winces against Zev and presses closer in an effort to block some of the wind.

She spies a nearby Drifloon floating way to innocently. With a huff, Nenet grouses, "Someone should be attending to that pokemon," just as their own horde waddles back with treat buckets laden with poffins.

Turning her attention to the Rockruffs and Yamper, she leans down to examine the buckets and ensure nothing too wayward has made its way inside. With a nod to the pokemon she urges, "Next house!"

Pressed up against the warmth of Zev, his body shielding some of the cold; despite her normal aversion to public affections she stays pressed to his side as they continue their outing with the puppies.

She looks over when Zev speaks again, a vague surprise registering upon her face that's gone as quickly as it came. For a time it was easy to forget they didn't live together, easy to grow accustom to the sound of Zev's breathing at night and waking to his warmth pressed against her back.

"Alright," Nenet agrees. A rueful smile touches her lips as she teases, "I expect you to leave Luna to keep me company, though. I don't think I can wake without her lovely face drooling on my pillows anymore."

Turning her attention away from the impending emptiness of her apartment - which had never bothered her in the past - Nenet suddenly laughs at the sight which greets her. The pack's buckets brimming with treats, Jupiter the Yamper seems to have really come out on top from their latest round of trick or treating; he waddles behind his brothers and sisters, a Slowpoke tail in his mouth and dragging the ground.

She bends down to squeeze the Yamper's cheeks and coo at him for a bit before looking back to Zev. Her expression unreadable, she suddenly admits, "I'll miss having you around."

Nenet turns her attention back to the Yamper, her hands lightly squeezing the puppy's cheeks as she schools her expression away. She wouldn't be wholly alone, she would have the pack to distract herself with as Zev said, but regardless she had grown used to his presence and would miss it.

"Let me know if you change your mind," is all she says as she stands. Nenet was never shy with her wants. She wouldn't start now.

Reaching out, she gently squeezes Zev's forearm before she says, "I think it's time to start heading back. I'm getting tired, and this one," she tips her head with a snort towards Jupiter, already trying to figure out how to eat his Slowpoke tail with enough force to rival the most potent infinite energy ever studied, "is going to eat himself into a coma at this rate."
