CHARACTER FACTS

- Elisabeth grew up in a countryside household that did not value technology. She's massively out of the loop on pop culture references, and also has the tech skills of an old lady.
- Her father owned a winery in Camphrier Town, Kalos. Her mother was a talented watercolour painter. Both came from noble houses, but the wealth of both was beginning to face the first sign of decline.
- She spent most of her childhood outside, or curled up with a good book. She loved to climb trees!
- Shy nerdy Elisabeth loved Bug-type Pokemon, to the horror of all other noble girls she tried and failed to befriend.
- Her first Pokemon was a Wurmple she rescued from her parents' garden, which evolved eventually into a Beautifly.
That Beautiful is now dead, and she doesn't want to talk about it. - She was very sincere and earnest to a fault in her youth, making her gullible and painfully easy to tease.
- She's a decent singer and dancer, due to childhood lessons. Impeccable etiquette, too.
- Never learned how to drive, though. Still has no idea how to drive. Isn't this what drivers are for?
- Married young, at nineteen. Was an idealist, actually loved him. Her parents were not on board but wanted to be supportive.
- Met her husband, Lord Bortiforte, at a Kalosian debutante ball. He was ten years her senior, been infamously jilted at the altar by his last fiancée, and was considered all around an ill-tempered brute. Elisabeth chose to approach him, because 'there is good in everyone.'
- Update on that, almost ten years later: some men are, in fact, just evil. The honeymoon period ended faster than Elisabeth had anticipated, leaving her with a jealous and paranoid man convinced of infidelity everywhere he looked.
- Early on in their marriage, she was initially mousy and people-pleasing, desperate to win her now-cold husband's favor. Eventually she realised this was impossible, and her heart began to harden in kind. If he expected infidelity, fine. She'd give it to him.
- Most of Elisabeth's life in her husband's manor was recorded in some manner using his company's security system technology. She had virtually no privacy, except when outside in her garden. It has resulted in her indifference towards technology being replaced with an active disdain.
- Elisabeth, at her breaking point, asked her husband for a divorce. As they never signed a pre-nup, having initially married for love, this conversation did not go well.
- She befriended her Misdreavus when the Ghost-type Pokemon heard her crying by herself and decided to haunt her bedroom. This footage of Elisabeth supposedly talking to herself was used to help smear her reputation by declaring her 'unwell,' explaining her continued absence from public life.
- Her mother-in-law's Salazzle is ultimately the reason that Elisabeth got into poisons. Long story. Elisabeth probably has more in common with that woman than she will ever admit, to herself or aloud.
- All Elisabeth's poisoner knowledge is self-taught and cobbled together from books. Because of this, she's a piss poor scientist, and probably does not have sterile working conditions, or use even the most efficient methods. But she sure gets points in creativity!
- When her parents died, her husband spitefully refused to let her attend their funerals. This prompted her to try to escape with the use of her Gloom, Misdreavus, and Roselia. She failed in this, and the severe burn from his Emboars patrolling the manor taught her not to try again.
- Elisabeth, by the way, is now terrified of Emboars. One of her husband's escaped in Kalos, and she's pretty sure it wants her dead for killing his master. AROMATHERAPY calms her down from those panic attacks.
- Related: she absolutely murdered her late husband. However, she has openly admitted this to almost no one.
- Bortiforte was a successful CEO of a security & asset management technology company. When he died, Elisabeth inherited his shares and could have kept the company running. This would have ultimately been more profitable, but Elisabeth instead spitefully broke it into a thousand tiny pieces, sold those pieces to his competitors, and then set his manor on fire. As you do.
- Every single one of Elisabeth's intimate romantic relationships in Kalos has been toxic in some manner, none morseo than that with her late husband. It's hit the point where the idea of actual healthy intimacy is more frightening. Who needs a man when you have plants?
- Hilariously, Elisabeth is a phenomenal baker and chef despite being a poisoner. Let her cook you dinner. Really!
- Came to Hoenn without a friend to her name. Did not really expect to make any.
- Joined Rocket because she still doesn't feel like she belongs with ordinary good people. And because there's a part of her that actively relished in causing her husband's death, and she doesn't know what to do with that feeling.
- Very sensitive about being touched. Does not take unanticipated physical contact well.
- Struggles with intense insomnia.
- Tends to laugh at her own stupid jokes.
- The ring she wears is her mother's wedding band, a Fiorelli heirloom. Elisabeth has adjusted it so that it serves as an agent for releasing poison with a prick of its golden thorns.
- Based her cottage on a watercolour painting by her mother, Georgiana Fiorelli, entitled 'Sanctuary.' It sits above her bed. Only Izydor Baranowski knows this.
- Her fatal, defining character flaw is curiosity.
