Seized by ZEKROM’s telekinesis, there is little that TAPU KOKO can do to avoid the POISON JAB coming its way. The speed at which its opponents travel is too fast for it to do anything but raise its shield and block. As a result, poisonous claw meets feathery (almost coconut husk-like) shell and embeds itself there; seeping.[break][break]

Incurring the wrath of a Fairy-type came with its consequences, however. Those well versed in taming dragons knew that better than anybody. As such, when Remiel sees the powerful glow in the LAND SPIRIT’s eyes intensify, he gives the battle a wide berth upon his Garchomp. ”Something’s coming!” He warns Michael Navidson with a wave of his hand, clutching at a TERA ORB holstered to his belt with the other. ”Clear the area!”[break][break]

And, sure enough, the ground beneath the feet of the combatants suddenly begins to violently quake. Before long, it crumbles into itself with a great cacophony, giving way to a surge of thorny roots that wind themselves throughout the battlefield like a mass of eldritch-like tentacles. The aura of glittering pink energy that surrounds them as they tear the earth apart is a clear indicator to their origin.[break][break]

This is the ultimate power of NATURE’S MADNESS.

As the dust cloud slowly begins to clear in the wake of this devastating attack, however, ZEKROM emerges. Clad in STEEL hard scales, the BLACK YIN defiantly claws his way through branch and thorn before charging at the TAPU with a BOLT STRIKE. Despite the hasty TERASTALLIZATION, however, it is clear that the dragon has taken some damage.[break][break]

Remiel’s warning gives the twosome a split-second heads up. Navy and Vortigern make the most of the milliseconds. Two lunge towards one another. Two become one. The part of him that remains Navy feels a tinge of anger at once more having a human upon his back. Vortigern tells himself in the primordial language of dragons that the human is simply an extension of himself, another killing claw.[break][break]
They fly up, fey branches cutting into them. Nature’s wrath is terrible indeed. This creature has guarded their island nation since before humanity had the capacity to name things. This old being lashes at them, as it must have once done to other dragons that invaded its territory.[break][break]
There is pain, pain shared between them. Vortigern does not wince at the pain, but the human on his back recoils enough for two.[break][break]
How can he stand this? Navy thinks, a thought directed at both black dragons. Even the great Yin looks to have suffered blows.[break][break]
Vortigern and Zekrom seem to have plenty in common. Both turn. Both head back into the fray. Vortigern charges into hell simply because his wounded pride demands he return blow for blow.[break][break]
Navy is thrown off in the precise moment his link with Vortigern severs. He breathes, as if surfacing again. Infinity energy gathers around his Pokemon. He does not need to share a soul with the dragon to understand what is happening: Vortigern is seeing red.[break][break]

Garchomp channels its inner rage, entering a state of heightened aggression. for a brief time, it IGNORES DAMAGE, critically attacking anything before it in a mindless rampage. after this state ends, the accrued damage causes garchomp to faint.

TAPU KOKO defends against the BOLT STRIKE well enough, but doesn't expect to immediately get attacked from the side afterward. Summoning the power of its BRAVE BIRD, however, the indignant guardian charges at the raging Garchomp. The two clash and become a violent mass of tooth and claw as they fervently strike at each other.[break][break]

Any blow the LAND SPIRIT lands, however, seems to be completely IGNORED. Damaged CRITICALLY, it WITHDRAWS into its hell once more; tightly, this time. The ball it has formed weathers the onslaught that continues afterward anyway. Except this time, it doesn't reemerge from behind the cover of its shell so quickly.[break][break]

"Your Garchomp isn't holding back," Remiel awes at the scene from above. "Is this the power of its Z-MOVE? Unlocking its berserker state?" His own Garchomp, in the meantime, huffs. She may also be impressed, but she's too proud to admit... at least until the mating season comes around again. Then she might have found a mate worthy to have offspring with.[break][break]

However, as the dust cloud settles, so does the battle. ZEKROM attempts to pry TAPU KOKO open with a BREAKING SWIPE of its claws after Vortigern has exhausted himself trying. The LAND SPIRIT makes a noise from behind its shell, then peeks out to regard the other two with a glare. Once it is sure they won't attack, it reemerges and tends to itself.[break][break]

"I suppose we didn't exactly give TAPU KOKO a fair fight," Remiel chuckles. "But this was an illuminating battle nonetheless. Certainly worthwhile." The AVATAR nods.[break][break]

Frankly, it reminded him of the kind of training he'd employ in SPECTRA.[break][break]

Vortigern’s fall is afforded the small dignity of a red flash. Navy stores the dragon in his pokeball, feeling wholly human again. His suit’s deactivation comes with a wave of exhaustion, as it always does. Not wanting to stand on ceremony, he sits down and listens to Remiel, all the while looking up at the great black dragon.[break][break]
“Yeah, that’s his z-move. Don’t, uh, don’t know if it’s a species thing or a him thing. Not like I’m a scientist.” His knowledge on most subjects is purely practical – the details that will keep him alive. “Glad you got something from this battle, prince.” Pulling out a flask from beneath his red poncho, he takes a hearty swig of whiskey. It burns as much as dragonfire on its way down the hatch.[break][break]
“I’ll say this: glad you guys are on our side.” The statement sweeps across all three of the other major players gathered there. “Arceus, man, those Triad assholes won’t know what hit ‘em if we all fight that hard when they decide to show up.”
