It was not often that Johanna found herself stepping upon the road so aptly named the Fiery Path. Yet here she was. Admittedly she had come here for entirely selfish reasons, wanting to do nothing but catch some pokemon and spend some quality time with the ones already in her possession.

And so, clad in a thick coat she walked the rocky road in the company of some of her lesser seen Pokemon. The humongous twin pair of Sevipers known as Ves and Vas slithering around her, one curiously investigating the area and the other protectively sticking around its trainer.

[attr="class","text"]It'd been a while since he'd visited the fiery path for a hike. In fact, he was fairly certain it had been months ago, alongside Ikarus Rook. Today, though, it was just him and a couple of his pokemon trudging on the upward slope. Through the simmering heat that persisted through the winter cold.[break][break]
Noodle had darted ahead - the nosy shinx looking for anything he could get into, but a more timid vaporeon remained close to his heels. She was a new addition to his gym roster, unsure of her footing. But every so often, he reached a hand to pat the top of her head reassuringly.

Vas the curious Seviper slithered further and further away until it stumbled upon a pile of trash. Though on closer inspection the pile of trash was moving slightly, sleeping perhaps? Vas did not know nor did he care as he slithered back, wanting nothing to do with a pile of trash.

Meanwhile Ves and Johanna noticed the approaching group of lam logan and his Pokemon. She raised a hand in a greeting wave as she spoke. “Hi!” making her presence known to the lot as to avoid any unwanted surprises.

The Seviper glanced at the pokemon Lou accompanied curiously. It wanted to investigate them but respected its trainer enough to curb such urges until given the go ahead. Though it did wonder when it’s twin would join back with them and if it would be able to have the same restraint.

[attr="class","text"]Noodle’s nosiness nearly got the better of him. The little shinx had skittered too far ahead, attention caught by the swish of plumey tails. With feline curiosity, he batted at the creamy white swish of fur—only to realize belatedly that, of course, they belonged to a much larger ninetails.[break][break]
In a panic, his needle teeth bit down on one tail, CRUNCHING to make the ninetails yelp in irritation. Heat licked up around the vulpine—threatening to sear the little pest who tried to scramble away. Flares of electricity lit up around him, and Lam quickly threw a pokeball while the ninetails was distracted.[break][break]
“Noodle, I swear..” he sighed in exasperation, stooping to scoop the squalling cat up. The vaporeon remained vigilant and timid by his side, blinking wide eyes as she noticed the other trainer and her seviper first.[break][break]
Lam was quick to follow though. Straightening up, his expression broke into a smile of familiarity. “Oh, hey! Jojo, that you?” he asked brightly, as he shuffled the shinx to wave a hand.

“Yeah that’s me!” Johanna beamed a bright friendly smile at the Gym-Leader. “So, what brings you to these parts?” She asked politely, her eyes momentarily darting to his fellow Pokemon to acknowledge them as well.

Meanwhile the Seviper by her side let its tongue slide through the air in quick succession tasting their smell before greeting the Pokemon in its own serpentine way, with a small nod.

Meanwhile the other Seviper Vas drew closer. But once again his attention moved to something that rustled nearby. But this time it wasn’t trash, but a Whirlipede.

The Whirlipede had seen the Seviper and thought it an easy target, and so it charged at the serpent with a Take Down, only for the serpent to nimble coil around the Whirlipede halting its charge and quelching the attack.

Vas tightened its coil to the point where it felt like it might be crushing the Bug/Poison type. But luckily it fell unconscious just in time. With a gift now in tail, the Seviper dragged the unconscious Whirlipede back to its trainer who had seemingly found people to talk to. It hissed a greeting not only to its sibling but to the strangers as well, and proudly showed off what it had caught.

[attr="class","text"]“Thought so!” Lam chimed brightly in turn. “Good to see a familiar face!” Noodle wiggled in his arms, and Lam tried to juggle him until the shinx put his paws up on the gym leader’s shoulder.[break][break]
“Just out for a hike! Seeing if anything catches my eye.” He nodded at the seviper alongside her as he approached. Beside him, the shy vaporeon let out a chirp as Johanna acknowledged her. Her aquatic tail swayed behind her as she blinked at the serpent.[break][break]
“How ya been, anyway?” Lam asked conversationally, “Miss seeing you on the gym circuit.” Behind them, a gastly floated by. Noodle mrrped at the spectral pokemon, but kenw better than to try and zap it while Lam was holding him.[break][break]
It continued to drift and then passed out of view.

Pleasantries were exchanged both between trainer and Pokemon before the harder hitting question was given by Lam. “Oh I’ve been doing pretty good. Been busy of course, but still good.” She began. “I have been missing the Gym Circuit though, so I might have to go at it again, but as a challenger this time.” She admitted.

It was by then that the second Seviper slithered up to her and offered her the bounty it had caught. “For me?” She asked the snape and it hissed happily in acknowledgement. Johanna sighed and grabbed one of her Pokéballs. With it she performed a quick capture and prayed that would be the end of it.

Vas the Seviper had other plans. Not far from there it saw something rustling about and honestly it felt like hunting so it did.

“Oh here we go again.” Another sigh escaped her alongside the muttered words as she watched the serpent set in pursuit of what she noticed was a Grafaiai. Unfortunately for the small primate the Seviper was quick to coil around it and halt any attempt at fighting back.

And while that was happening she returned her attention to Lam. “And how have you been doing?”
