To his surprise, there were far more newer contestants than he had imagined at first. Watching many trainers start out here was a great thing to see, plus it would allow him to meet them as well, as who knows when he'd have the chance otherwise. One such person was up ahead, Diana Cavendish.[break][break]

Sending his Shaymin out onto his side of the arena, he would tap the Tera orb on his hip to change his Pokemon into its Grass Tera, starting off strong.

[attr="class","diana"]It seemed that this "Ryan" fellow was already showing off some of his power. She'd heard of the tera ability and its power, but she'd never seen it in person. It was quite fascinating, and she had to admit, staring at his sparkling SHAYMIN was quite distracting.

"Ah, yes. A pleasure. May the best trainer win," Diana offered with a smile.

She shook his hand before stepping back to her side, her ALTARIA flying at her side.

Her manner of speech reminded him of a certain princess. If Elise Calcifet and this lady were to meet, he envisioned them doing something royal like eating biscuits with tea. After exchanging their match greeting, he returned back to his side and would commence the battle. The Altaria would have the advantage of flight against his tiny Shaymin, they would have to figure out a way to bring it back down to the ground. Starting the match off with a Seed Flare, wavy projectiles would spew out of the hedgehog aimed directly for the flying bird. [break][break]

[attr="class","diana"]The SEED FLARE was charged to Cadbury, who decided to set up her defenses with a COTTON GUARD. Perhaps she could stall off the attack as she began to prepare her own.

As she did, the ALTARIA charged a MOONBLAST, sending the fairy-type move beaming toward the SHAYMIN in retaliation.

The blast of light careened off in the direction of Noel's Pokemon. Jumping up into the air, the small Shaymin would narrowly dodge the attack. Its leg barely clipped by the ball of light, causing it to lose its balance in the air and fall back to the ground. Crashing down, it laid there for a moment on its back before rolling over up straight.[break][break]

Shaking the dust off its body, it would start its counterattack with an Energy Ball coming from its mouth, shooting it off in the direction of the Altaria.

[attr="class","diana"]A ding sounded in the stadium, announcing the first point of the match. They were currently in the lead.

But Diana knew not to hold her breath.

The SHAYMIN recovered quickly enough, rolling back onto its feet and attacking her with an ENERGY BALL. Cadbury's COTTON GUARD still stood strong, and she hoped it would still tank a hit from the small hedgehog.

In retaliation, the dragon attacked physically, swinging down with a SKY ATTACK.

The Altaria's defenses proved to be too strong. No matter what they tried, no attack seemed to make a dent in its fluffy armor. Before they could realize, the bird had now flown high up into the air and was planning something devious against the Shaymin.[break][break]

With no way to meet against their foe, the little hedgehog would plant its feet into the ground and harness the power within itself to let loose a Solar Beam aimed directly towards the swooping avian. Keeping its energy output steady, the Shaymin holds the beam aloft in hopes of landing a hit.

Cadbury took the SOLAR BEAM, her eyes squinting against the beaming light, as she charged one last DRAGON BREATH to attack her opponent. Her eyes were filled with passion as she aimed and fired.

While keeping on the offensive with its attack, it's unable to see the dragon's move being sent towards it. The laser dissipates once concentration is lost and the Shaymin is sent barreling across the floor, completely knocked out and laid flat on the ground. Returning the small hedgehog to its Pokeball, he would let the little guy get some well-deserved rest after battling so much.[break][break]

"Good job there, you beat me fair and square. To be honest, I thought this was going to be a sure win for me, but I was wrong and you deserve this victory."[break][break]
