"Not too long. Perhaps a month or two?" she thought.

"Are you from around here?"

As they speak, wondering down the route, a DRAMPA caught her attention. Sending out Jaffa, she commanded him to attack in order for her to catch the Pokemon with ease.

Using PHANTOM FORCE, it was as though the dragon-type disappeared before appearing behind the DRAMPA, attacking it with a swipe of his claws before she threw her Poke ball.

"Unless you enjoy politics, I think my answer is boring. I'm a delegate from Galar, but also political turmoil has become rather rough in the area I'm from. So I'm looking for a solution," she answered simply.

No one needed to know her real reasoning.

"Kanto? Were you there during the war?" Diana asked curiously, her ghostly dragon disappearing again to attack a nearby SCRAFTY. Using his tail, Jaffa TOOK IT DOWN, slamming the poor thing onto the ground.

"Don't be too harsh on them, Jaffa," she chided, throwing a Poke ball at the fighting-type.

Avery knew she’d really stepped in it this time when Diana went silent. It wasn’t a comfortable silence, either, but one of those harsh ones that maybe felt like diaper rash?

“Sorry, no, you’re right, that makes total sense.”

She guessed in her mind it was like a movie or a TV show where Galar would revert back to feudalism and the bartering system. But wasn’t Galar still feudalist, anyway?

She scrubbed at her sleeve. Nearby, AATTVV disturbed a slumbering Pangoro, and barely made it out of the way of a slamming fist to blast it with supersonic.

“Oh, you know. Just another body for the war effort, right?” she swallowed, head suddenly full of screams, barely remembering to reach for a Pokeball to throw at the dizzy bear. “For a while a lotta grunts from around the system were being funneled to the front. I think they thought that if we survived we would be hardened leadership material.”

Jokes on them, they got a bunch of dizzy glass cannons with heads full of ghosts.

Diana couldn't relate. How could she? In comparison, she had a pampered life of luxury, a promise of everything calm while the storms raged on.

Until Remiel Calcifet left. Even then, she never took up arms. Hoenn was creating a new Diana Cavendish.

Still, the stark contrast between her and avery jones left a wide gap between them. She chewed her cheek idly before she spoke again. "Could I... is there anything I could do to help you? I'm not a therapist, but I could lend you a shoulder or an ear, if you'd ever need one to listen or cry on..."

She gave her an expectant look before glancing away, targeting the SANDILE as her next catch.
