There's no time to rest with one battle following after another! Lutgarde is finishing up their quick snack - an energy bar for themself, a pokeblock for Sylv - while also walking towards the next battlefield. The rain has just cleared, too, giving the scenery an additional brightness.

"Hey there! Looking to battle as well?" they greet their next opponents, a grin on their face. Sylv, the red-black dyed Sylveon, steps forward, chirping friendly in greeting. "I'm Lutgarde and this is my partner, Sylv."

“Yo.” The man before them seems utterly at ease in this festival of combat. In no great rush to jump from battlefield to battlefield, he waits for them in the designated spot. Eating a pastrami sandwich, he waves at them, eyes turning to Sylv.[break][break]
“That’s gotta be the coolest looking Sylveon I’ve ever seen. Trained ‘em well?” A momentary pause. The man in the cowboy hat chuckles. “Well, guess I’m gonna find out.”[break][break]
At his side stands a machine. Scientists and professors call this creature Iron Valiant. This model has seen wear and tear. His chrome frame is torn by cuts that pass for battle scars. The left arm is missing, cut off clean at the shoulder joint.[break][break]
Yet still, he stands ready. Gripping a pink blade that glows with starlight, he gives Sylv a polite bow.[break][break]
“Name’s Navy. This here’s Roland. Show us what you can do.”

"Your pokémon's pretty cool, too," Lutgarde replies with a grin and a half-bow, looking at the robotic pokémon with fascination. "Don't think I've ever seen that one before. Reminds me of Gardevoir and Gallade tho..." They've heard Hoenn's home to some intriguing phenomena, but haven't been able to catch up with everything that happened here yet.

Sylv returns the polite bow, too, his eyes looking at the starlight-blade with cautious interest. He has the feeling he'll meet that one soon enough ...

"Let's begin!" Without further command, Sylv launches into a Quick Attack, speeding up fast and faster.

“The beauty queens who run the science division over at League HQ call them Iron Valiants.’ He says with dry words and a smile. It blossoms into pride. “He’s only ever been Roland to me. Feels like he shares a soul with my Gallade.” Which only covers part of the picture. A Gallade fell dead into interdream mist, an Iron Valiant soon emerged. Whatever happened inside is not for humans to know.[break][break]
“But it looks like you’re ready to fight. Roland.” Down goes his sandwich. Up comes a tera orb, surging with power. As Navy throws the ball forward, Roland skirts back, trying in vain to stay one step ahead of the quick attack. Electricity spreads across the field, his electric terrain setup making for an abysmal turn.[break][break]
The orb catches him. Roland is consumed by crystals, for just a moment. Caught in a world of fantasy, he sees a world of towering steel. A machine world, a gear world. A world where he could be at home. Roland emerges adorned in a steel crown, ready to go on the offensive.

Lutgarde mirrors the smile, "Roland then! I'm happy to meet you." There's a story lingering in the air, but they're not one to pry, even if they can't say they're not curious at all ... Maybe they'd get a chance to chat sometime later. For now, they have to focus on the battle, which soon is taken up a notch. It's only the second time they've seen it - but twice in one day sounds like quite a lot - and ... they really got to focus up.

"Stay on your guard!" Lutgarde shouts towards their Sylveon, which gives a simple nod as he gets some distance in-between himself and Roland. Now that crown looks like something he's ... got mixed feelings about. His instincts tell him to stay far, but part of him has become fond of skyscrapers, metal everywhere. It's where he works with his trainer, after all.

For now, he decides to go on the defense, throwing up a Light Screen in anticipation of a devastating attack.

And Roland stays on the offensive. The light screen is designed to help against ephemeral attacks, but they tend to fall flat before raw physical power. Navy doesn’t need to issue a command, Roland doesn’t need to hear one.[break][break]
The one-armed warrior skirts across the ground, leaving a streak of magenta light in his wake, an afterimage of his galactic blade. Momentum is key, rhythm, striking at the most opportune moment. Roland sways, slips into a battle stance, strikes.[break][break]
His psycho cut searches for such an opening. Psychic energy sits along the edge of the blade, lashing out whenever it gets close to organic matter.[break][break]
