The cold in Shoal Cave reminds the royal Galarian ambassador of the event that happened in the Silent Icelands a month and a half ago. While they did thwart Kyurem and the Hoopa’s destructive attack, the new areas that opened up because of the incident had the league look into it. Though she could do her usual places to hunt Pokemon that her ghost types needed friends for, this place would be a different one to have her Pokemon explore a bit of the cave.[break][break]

Elise preferred to have her Mismagius outside of her Moon Ball since she thought it would be a bit too restrictive if the witch-like ghost would explore the Shoal Cave with her. Her large group of Pokemon probably lacked some ice types to cover more ground, so the dark magenta haired princess makes the trek inside the deeper icy cavern to find more ice type Pokemon while the floating purple ‘robed’ ghost follows in silence.

Zoë wasn't a stranger to the cold. She'd found out early on that she liked the chill in the air, the freshness that came with every breath. She wore a heavy jacket and several sweaters, but no puffy coat to block her movements. Devereux, her absol, stepped silently near her side as she followed her companion through the tunnel-like entrance of the cave. The woman's mismagius was close to her front and Zoë had to be careful not to violate the pokemons space too closely. Devereux seemed fairly unimpressed with the change of scenery, occasionally emitting a yawn in response to their exploration.

Zoë was quiet for a long while as they delved deeper into the cave. It was only when it opened into a slightly larger space, large enough that she could come to Elise's side, that she finally spoke.

"I'm not too worried about getting lost," she said. "But do you have a rope just in case?" She wasn't lying. She really wasn't afraid of not being able to get back out. Already she was mapping their path in her head and keeping track of the various twists and turns they made. Only a few yards back there had been a peculiar nick in the cave wall too that she had made sure to commit to memory. These were all fairly basic survival tips, but then again, so was bringing an escape rope to a cave.

The ambassador notices her companion coming up next to her as the other woman asks if she has a rope and didn’t worry about getting lost. “I have some rope in my pack in case. We won’t have to worry about getting lost either.” While Elise responds to her companion, a pair of ice type Pokemon is seen by her Mismagius ahead of them. Red eyes from the purple ghost look over to the female Dewgong as she brings a Thunderbolt to crash down onto the seal.[break][break]

In retaliation, the wild Dewgong goes in for an Aqua Jet that hits the Mismagius. As the ghost fired a Shadow Ball at the wild Dewgong, Elise tosses a Dusk Ball from her pack and throws it at the Dewgong.

Zoë turned her gaze to Elise curiously, wondering how she could be so sure about not getting lost. Maybe she was being as attentive to their surroundings as Zoë was. Either way, so long as on of them had a rope it didn't particularly matter.

She was so focused on her companion that Zoë almost missed the appearance of the two pokemon in the cave. Devereux noticed before she did, perking up and stepping forward and slightly in front of his trainer protectively. Zoë couldn't help but perk up at seeing the Froslass lingering at the edge of the cavern. She'd wanted to catch one for some time, but the opportunity hadn't presented itself before now. She was grateful when Elise focused her attention on the dewgong, leaving froslass to watch the sudden altercation with large hooded eyes.

"Devereux...." Zoë's voice didn't grow any louder than usual, but her absol seemed to hear her regardless. He bounded forward with dexterity brought its bluish claws down across the froslass' front. The ice and ghost type pokemon seemed momentarily confused at being attacked, but blinked and swooped in just as quickly, pressing its mouth to the top of Devereux's head. A flush tinged aura emanated from the action and Devereux staggered back, looking slightly dazed. Zoë ground her teeth together and snapped her fingers, hoping to get Devereux's attention.
