“Eris…” He croaks. One hand. That’s all he has left. One whole arm. Pulling himself forward with his ruined body, a blood trail pools in his wake. He can’t feel his legs, he can’t feel much of anything. The light inside is fading, but he still works.[break][break]
“Eris.” Another glob of blood. More and more spills from him. People scream in the dark. Backup comes, but they won’t come in time. Unknown soldiers rush to rescue the damsel, but she is too persistent for her own good. She wants to save another lost soul. He admires her for that, loves her with the fierce pride of family.[break][break]
“ERIS!” He tries to warn her of the darkness in the wolf’s maw. Red Riding Hood will be consumed. This tale will write a bloody ending. There is nothing to be done except see it play out here as it always does. Shadows creep up. They take him.[break][break]
The last thing he feels before his part in this simulation ends is a chilling hatred.
