Watching a few rockets flee, he resisted the urge to sigh. Had they done it? Had they won? Was it over? These questions swirled around inside his mind as Josh rejoined him.

As Josh told him they had saved the Iron Leaves, he was relieved. However, that relief was short-lived when he found out Team Rocket had gotten away with the research on the Iron Leaves. So, while they had saved the paradox pokemon, they hadn't really won.

Debating on whether to ask, he chewed his lower lip. Deciding it couldn't hurt to ask, he did.

"So what now? Should we try to go after them?"

The two Rangers had managed to save the Iron Leaves, a life. Lives were more valuable than research notes. "No, let them go," Josh advised in a voice that came out more stern than he would have liked. "With how many of them came from this place, it's likely that they weren't after the research notes. They were after the Virizion," he falsely named the paradox Pokémon's species. "Whatever our team learned from the Pokémon here, Rocket would have learned eventually."

Josh peered back inside the research facility; while almost all of the scientists had escaped, there were a couple that were not in great shape. He withdrew his team exceo for Raikiri, Sigmund, and Tyrfing. "I know you might not be thrilled with the idea, but would you teo be willing to carry these two back to the surface so we can get them medical attention?" With the closing of their digital eyes and a slow nod, the Sacred Swords reluctantly agreed, crouching.

"Hey Axel, can you give me a hand propping these two onto Tyrfing and Sigmund? We need a hand getting them back to the surface."

As Josh told him to let them go, he nodded. He supposed it was all for the best. If they did chase after them and some attacked while they were gone, the people here wouldn't be able to protect the Iron Leaves. Then not only would they lose the research on the paradox Pokémon, but the Pokémon itself.

Wrapped up in his thoughts as he was, he barely paid any mind to the misnaming of the paradox Pokémon, only nodding before speaking. "Unfortunately, that is the nature of Team Rocket. It doesn't mean I like just letting them get away with the research, but at least the Iron Leaves is okay."

Following Josh, he eyed the remaining scientist, noting they didn't seem to be in the best shape. The fact that Team Rocket would hurt people just because they could didn't sit well with him. Surely the scientist had posed no real threat to them.

Hearing the older male's request, he nodded before making his way over to the gym leader's side to help him. Though he wasn't too sure how much help he would be. He had never been physically strong.

"Are there healers waiting on the surface?" he asked, barely taking his attention away from helping to get the injured scientist on the Sacred Swords.[break] Josh Devlin

"What matters is that no life was lost," Josh nodded back. "Losing research notes is a setback, but losing the Virizion... wait, what did you call that Pokémon? I didn't think they had officially been named yet." They were so new that Pokémon researchers may not have even agreed on names for them. Some of the paradoxes, like Roaring Moon, had agreed-upon names. Though naming the Iron Leaves Virizion was inaccurate, it was the best way he could think of to refer to them until the name Iron Leaves was officially in use and popularized.

When Axel had finished helping with getting the Sacred Swords loaded up with injured passengers, the Gym Leader answered, "Not immediately outside, but once we're there, getting them to Oldale shouldn't be too hard. We can't go too fast. They're hurt, but they look stable. So long as we don't agitate their wounds any more, they should make it." Once they were on top, the Pokémon racer called upon Hylda, taking a seat on the Glastrier's back and directing her to keep pace with the Cobalion and Terrakion look-alikes. "We should get back to town, too. Get a hotel room and just relax."

True, the fact that the Pokémon was safe was a good thing. When asked, he was caught off guard. "Sorry, I was thinking about the way it looked to me. It looks like a metallic version of Virizion to me, and the things on its neck make me think of leaves. Sometimes I voice thoughts aloud without realizing it," he said awkwardly, rubbing the back of his neck.

His parents had scolded him about that in the past. He tried not to, but sometimes thoughts he meant to keep to himself slipped out. It could, at times, cause him to be a little too honest when it came to the way he felt about certain matters. That wasn't to say he couldn't keep a secret because he definitely could.

Upon hearing the explanation, he nodded. It made sense that they didn't want to jostle their injuries, as that would only increase the risk of their injuries getting worse.

Noticing that Mirage was a bit worse for wear, he returned him to his Pokéball and released Gemini to take his place. Following Josh's example, he swung himself onto the back of his own mount, his Wrydeer.
