The cliff he was perched on gave way to easy sight of a small Rocket encampment. Right where it'd been spotted by League patrols earlier. So far, it didn't same like the people that reported it had been spotted but he was still careful. Who knew when you could get side swiped by a ghost type or dive bombed by a flyer. [break][break]

"I'll give you a couple of minutes to get into position before I take my first shot. After I'll probably take 2-3 more before needing to move nests with Hopper." he explained giving the ranger time to get to it. As he looked back at his scope he tensed seeing a Rocket staring back directly up him. Was he aware of their presence even with the mist? Whatever the case was, Paxton didn't rush this shot. He gave Annalise her time, clicking the safety off his weapon. Bullet already in the chamber he took a deep, steadying breath as he pulled his rifle tight to him before aiming a shot at the Hatred Avatar's heart.

but the bullet paxton concordas fires never finds jayden cross. it is temporarily stopped by a shield of PROTECT conjured by a wandering POIPOLE—theo's own, gifted from marcus kotov—and the bullet is held long enough for theo to reach over to pull the admin out of the way. the moment he does so, the PROTECT breaks, and the bullet lodges itself in one of the crates.

"Shit-" as soon ass he pulled the trigger, a burst of energy is hot back. Hopper doesn't even question it, moving in close to its trainer and TELEPORTing to a different angle before Paxton is electrocuted off the cliff. [break][break]

He doesn't get a chance to see if the bullet hits, vision twisting and changing rapidly as he and his Porygon drop onto cold stone. They handle their protection, chirping urgently as Paxton's aim moved. DRACO METEOR dropped and the response was an avatar activating their ice powers. This must be jayden cross . [break][break]

Their ice nearly encases all of them and he doubts a couple of shots can really help break through. The humans are mostly protected from sight, but he fire anyway hoping the cracks he'd make might help the DRACO METEOR reach target. Hopper on the other hand was visibly anxious seeing the Dragapult nearly disappear from sight. Inky black tendrils seem to be reaching up for her and the Porygon merely tries to PSYCHIC woman and her partner to help them sidestep the ghost.

Despite their best efforts, they can't keep Annalise from being dragged out of the air. Even worse, Hopper is too focused on helping the Ranger, their TELEPORT isn't fast enough. The TECHNOBLAST meets its target as Paxton gets up to run so he doesn't take a direct hit. The attack blows up the sniper's nest, extra bullets and empty casings falling down the side of the cliff and dragging Paxton withh it. "Shit!" [break][break]

His stomach flipped as he began to drop. He's about to freefall and tries to cling to the broken cliffs amongst the dust and rubble. He bangs his back a couple of times and drops dozens of feet in seconds before his partner recovers him and drops him closer to Rocket's encampment. [break][break]

Wichh is all well and good since Annalise is down, and he would need to face them head on, at least to make sure she's ok. "I'm coming closer!" e said into his comms as he caught is breath form the panic and pain of the moment. Hopper does her best as Paxton makes a sprint for observation point, trying to catch sight of his partner again. Hopper does its best to coordinate a distraction wile Paxton runs. With another PSYCHIC it lifts up chunks of the Avatar's ice, or whatever's left from the DRACO METEOR, and attempts to slam it down on the Rockets.

as DRACO METEOR rains over them, interrupting their much-anticipated reunion, theo is forced to tear away from annalise henderson, bringing jayden cross with him before they dip into the ground, disappearing into the shadows to make their escape.
