The senior ranger begins to ask in a very loud stage whisper if the ambassador was the High King’s avatar. If she was, the Sheriff of Dewford Town would’ve been very worried for her since he told her that working with legendaries was bad for people.[break][break]

“No, I don’t think the Calyrex at the Dyna Tree in Ever Grande has granted me avatarship yet.” She settles the other ranger’s worries if Ranger Anderson did have any. “Charles is a shard off the original.” Though the High King at the Dyna Tree would be watching through the psychically linked shard that he’ll see how she grows as a leader.[break][break]

Remiel did have high hopes for her in spite of her inexperience. Maybe she’ll show him that she can be a good successor to his time in office as Galarian Ambassador.

They were different because Elise isn’t an avatar, but was acknowledged by Calyrex to show him her leadership skills. She isn’t aware that the head ranger had something extraordinary on his person and the diplomat wasn’t going to pry into that. Arceus knows that Alexei wouldn’t make Tornadus known if it meant that Rocket knew of the wind djinni.[break][break]

“If it came down to it, yes.” Elise is sure that the Calyrex would’ve wanted her to be more stronger than she was then. She’s also sure that Remiel had probably accepted his patron’s avatarship a long while ago and he already made his choice. “I want to help the league in their endeavors in the war effort, it will be an honor to accept his patronage if the real Calyrex decided on it.”

Her senior talks with her about there being a fine line with wanting to become a legendary’s avatar to being controlled by that Pokemon. She listens to the elite ranger tell her out of concern that many people wanted to become Avatars to legendaries and once they do, they were basically at the League’s call to fight against Team Rocket. [break][break]

Her elder cousin was no exception, he had been called numerous times by the League to fight against Team Rocket and he was damn well capable of holding his own against them even when Rocket called for his traitorous blood on their hands. [break][break]

Well, the fact that legendary Pokemon would get angry when they’re treating their human champion would dissuade her a little. She was sure that the Calyrex at the Dyna Tree would act the same, but she wasn’t sure about Remiel and Zekrom. [break][break]

“I see now.” Elise bows her head a little. Maybe she had been wrong to try and pursue it when it’s very rough on that person. “I would not want the Dyna Tree’s Calyrex to be…angry with me if that were the case.” [break][break]

Because Arceus knows she would have to deal with an angry hare king if he was treating her like his champion in a hypothetical avatarship.

Elise knows that Lars was looking out for her when he had spoken about his experiences with legendary Pokemon. Maybe there was that nagging feeling that told her Lars was right in talking her down from wanting to pursue being an avatar to the High King. She wanted to know how he knew much of the experience when she hasn’t seen whatever legendary he had contact with. [break][break]

“I know what I’m doing now that you’ve told me. It’s not a very easy ride.” She replies after seeing that Remiel and his patron worked together. “Charles hasn’t been verbal with me, no. If you were thinking of him exhibiting the same kind of power that the real Calyrex has in speaking with people.”[break][break]

She remembered the way that the Calyrex mind controlled people in speaking for him. Elise hasn’t gotten used to that, it was a very odd way for him to do it, but…he was at low power at that time.

In a way, the constant contact with a legendary Pokemon really would be the curse that Avatars would have. She takes the words of the Elite Ranger with some thought over what she wanted to do. That thought of what Elise wanted with the Calyrex at Ever Grande’s Dyna Tree. Recalling the words of the real Calyrex and out of all of the people that met with him that day…[break][break]

She was the only person that he saw a potential in her because of her desire. The desire to become a good princess for her people and to help her country and its people. [break][break]

Elise doesn’t express frustration that he didn’t actually pick her to be his patron yet, but rather, the Galarian Ambassador sees it as a way to improve herself.[break][break]

To fulfill the Calyrex’s desire of seeing what she can do with her leadership qualities and handling conflicts with them, she will do it.[break][break]

“Or what?” She asks with a small look of concern when Lars trails off at the second part of people getting overwhelmed by the power that Avatars possessed of their patrons. “What happens if they get overwhelmed by their powers other than being left behind by their patrons?"
