After coming here with so many colleagues, Amor decided he wanted some alone time, and returned to this place all by his lonesome, though just to be safe he had his armor on. The last thing he wanted was to be caught unawares by some Leaguer with a bad attitude. The mysterious pokemon that dwelled in this place he had seen glimpses of it, and he wanted it for himself, however tracking it down still proved to be a hassle. It was only a matter of time though. Moment by moment he was slowly closing the gap on it, and soon it would be in his possession.

Though it would be faster if he was on dragonback, the only reason he was hoofing it at the moment, was that he wanted to give Draco a break, though the Dragonite seemed to have limitless energy these days.

It wouldn't take long for him release his favored partner, and hop on his back, and they soon streaked off into the sky. An aerial view was preferred for this type of hunt anyways. He had felt stifled a bit lately, and so the freedom of the sky was always a comfort in such a situation.

"Now....Where are you...." Came the robotic voice as he peered out over the Great Chasm, and kept his eyes peeled for any sign of his new pokemon.

A brilliant explosion splits the skyline. Anyone with an aerial view of the supermassive crater could spot it from miles away. Far away, a dragon roars in defiance of natural law. Battle has once more come to the crater.[break][break]
Two Gouging Fires circle one another. One of them is a wild beast, a free agent, a king of this unknown past. The other is owned by the League’s Fighting Master. Tera crystals surround them both, showing them visions of a world ruled by dragons.[break][break]
“Come on, Gout.” Michael Navidson should not be allowed to name things. The League calls this creature Gouging Fire. Somehow, this muddled in the sheriff’s mind to Gout. Hardly a worthy name for a dragon, but it serves. The enemy Gouging Fire strikes out at Gout, only to be thrown away by its protective shield.[break][break]
“That’s the way.” There is no one else around. Just a man and two dragons. You’d have to be suicidal to come out here by yourself. Someone with a bird’s eye view might notice something: beneath his cheer, Navy is losing. His own Gouging Fire looks more haggard than the wild beast.[break][break]
Yet still, he keeps on smiling.[break][break]

Eyes narrowed as he looked ahead at the explosions.

"Jarvis, zoom in, over there...." Came the order to his Porygon-Z as it began to ran the calculations through his suit, and soon the inside screen of his helmet zoomed in, and he saw what he was looking for. A king of the past, Amor had a few of these Paradox pokemon, but the ones he had weren't like this. He had seen mechanical swords of justice popping around, but this one was different. Amor could feel it in his bones....A man who specialized in a singular type for his entire life could tell....The power that was being exuded in front of him, it was a new dragon....

"Draco quickly!" He gave the order, and his trusted companion Extreme Speeded towards the scene of the battle, and it wasn't long before they were above the battle site. Amor saw his new beast fighting what he thought was a grueling bout for it, but it would seem that it's opponent was on the backfoot. A Michael Navidson had appeared, and was currently fighting against the creature that he wished to claim.

"Would you like some help?" Came the voice from above, his voice modulator increasing the volume of the robotic tone so that his words could be made out clearly from below. "But I'm not one to interrupt an honorable duel, and all that...." Perhaps a hint of sarcasm from the man flying above the trio below.

“How’d I know I’d see you down here?” Salvation comes in the form of a familiar robotic voice. After fighting near half a dozen men with muffled, robotic voices, Navy built a profile on them. This one, he fought in the skies above Regice’s resurfaced mirage island. Neither of them knew what they were fighting for then.[break][break]
It seems pointless to die now.[break][break]
“Sure, come on. That Dragonite of yours looks like a badass.” Cracking his knuckles, he turns back to face the Gouging Fire. Gout lunges, swiping his claw at the beast. It retaliates with a vicious attack of its own, backing away a few precarious steps. They bring the dragon within yards of a tera crystal. A dragon’s crown appears over its head. Reinvigorated, it lunges at Navy.[break][break]
Only Gout’s burning bulwark safeguards the sheriff. An explosion of force sends the dragon flying back again. The tera giveth and the tera taketh. Its immunity to fire is dulled by its ascension to the apex of the world. Flames singe the beast.[break][break]
Just the opening a winged king could use.

He simply leapt away from his dragon, which to most would seem reckless, but before he hit the ground the Rotom that he allowed to possess his cybersuit alongside his Porygon-Z, levitated him for a brief second to keep him from splatting to the ground. A function of his suit that he didn't necessarily use that often, if only because he'd prefer to let people think he could die from falling. The wild Fire Dragon had drank in the energy of the Tera Crystals, and was now singed with the volatile fire from Michael Navidson's own. Draco would not let that opening go unanswered, both of his claws wreathed in purplish dragon energy as it dashed straight downward, and used Dragon Claw on it's new foe.

It managed to catch the unsuspecting foe offguard this time, but he doubted it would work again, now that it was aware of the two of them. The fact that it was able to take the hit straight on was impressive enough considering it had already been battling for a while now.

This was the one....This is the one that he wanted, no other would do.

"It's only natural that I'd be here....Same as it's only natural for you to be here as well...." He retorted to the man as he watched as the elder beast turned it's body so that it kept both of it's opponents in front of it. What move would it make next?

“Nice landing.” Navy whistles. Even in hell, he must find time to smile and make remarks like that. Without levity, the mind starts to slip. Gout reels from the intervention, letting the Dragonite take the lead in the ensuing battle.[break][break]
“You’re right. Nothing to be done for it, really. I’m an Elite Four now, so the League wants me down here.” Gout and the great beast both swipe at one another, leading to a stalemate. Both are bloodied, both are growing weaker. Deep as a Pokemon’s stamina pools are, they do not last forever. Even gods need to sleep, and these creatures are far from unassailable deities.[break][break]
“Take the lead. Got the perfect tool for this.” Navy trusts the masked man to not stab him in the back. Many of his colleagues would call that a foolish mistake, but he chooses to have faith. Gout is withdrawn. In his place comes Roland, Navy’s Iron Valiant.[break][break]
“They say the best thing you can do when backed into a corner is to fight fire with fire.” Where before he held an ultra ball he now grasps a tera orb. An expert throw encases Roland in crystals, only for the Iron Valiant to emerge with a stellar crown. Eighteen jewels revolve around a smiling turtle. Roland is dipped in the rainbow of endless fantastical possibility.[break][break]
A feat which will prove meaningless if the wrothful dragon strikes the knight down.

"Elite Four....? Someone has become popular since our last meeting...." He stated the robotic tone not betraying any emotion that he might feel about it. Inside he was thankful that someone like him was actually in that post, it would perhaps do some good for that entire organization to have an actual competent, and moral individual among their ranks. Someone who actually understood things....Another part of him was dissatisfied as it now meant that Amor could no longer ignore him on the field of battle, he was now a prime target, and should Amor let him go as he previously had....The word treason came to mind.

If they were small fry, and if Amor were still a grunt then he could probably get away with it, but he had more responsibilities now.

"It is unfortunate....." He muttered to himself before turning his attention back to the fight at hand. While Navy summoned his Iron Valiant, a pokemon he was intimately familiar with from his time in the Mechanical Kingdom....Well perhaps not it specifically but the pokemon there heavily resembled it. Though the type of Tera Energy it was now exuding was new to him, a new power? He would have to acquire this as well.

The Gouging Fire was roaring with all it's might, and it's body became encased in flames, and the ground underneath it erupted as it used Lava Plume in an attempt to burn, and incinerate all the foes around it. An annoyed tch escaped his lips, as he took cover behind a nearby piece of rock.

"Ice Punch...." He gave the order to his dragon, and Draco rushed forward to hammer away at the frenzied beast with fists of frigid power. Frost would start to build up on the dragon, but it wasn't enough to entirely freeze it.

“Goode acted like I was some kind of hero.” There is no joy or confidence in the words. All he can remember are years spent on the sidelines. How many people who had died in battles long past would still be alive, had he stepped up to the plate sooner? Would his brother be the champion instead of Kyle?[break][break]
“What a rotten world, where a guy like me’s called a hero.” Around his neck, the weight of two dead parents hangs. Gabe’s weight slipped free, along with the old hatred he once bore his father, but that does not make him moral or righteous.[break][break]
He remembers visions of Valhalla, the warrior’s paradise. He remembers the miasma of blood, tears, and sexual fluids that dominated that place. No one who would call that place paradise deserves the title of hero.[break][break]
What Navy is, at his core, is a warrior. Steel eyes follow the battle. Draco plays his part perfectly. It affords Roland the time he needs to don his crown. The metal knight strides forward. His footsteps place him a scarce few feet behind Draco. When the masked Rocket’s dragon cuts one way, Roland goes the other. His keen killing blade glows with light.[break][break]
His tera blast, combined with the ice punch, knocks the Gouging Fire around like a pinball. It settles on the crown, its crown shattered. Try as the monster might to get up, it cannot muster the strength.[break][break]
“Catch it!” He shouts. “I’m out of pokeballs! Can’t just kill it, or let it get away.”

"Better you to be called that, than someone unworthy....." Contrite words of apology, the weight that the newly christened Elite Four member carries is heavy. He can sympathize with that to some extent, but it is a weight that he must carry....There were very few people that Amor deemed worthy in the league. Zac Ramsay was one, but he was gone....At one point he had thought Eva Morales was another, but she had failed. For all his faults Amor wanted the League to succeed he wanted them to be good, to lift the people up, and protect them.

However time after time they had failed miserably, and as he had once told Makoto Kurumi. A Villain was only as great as the Hero they faced off against. For a while there were none that he could consider heroes within the League. At least not until now, Navy was a man worthy of respect if nothing else.

"I have seen great many a people in the League....But I've only met two that I would consider true embodiments of it's ideals. One of those people is gone now....To parts unknown probably living a simpler life. You are the second." For what it was worth perhaps that would offer some solace to the man. "Battle is not as romantic as others make it out to be....You understand that, and that is why you are worthy of my time."

Between the attacks from all of their pokemon the Gouging Fire was now sufficiently weakened, at the urging of the Elite, he tosses a pokeball at the creature, and he watches it vanish in a flash of red. The ball would land on the ground, and start to shake gently, the tension in his body didn't fade as he watched it shake waiting to see if he was successful or not.

“Well, I hope, wherever they are, they’re enjoying their simple life.” Navy does not look at the masked man when he speak the words. Instead, he watches the shaking ball. Roland stands ready, blade poised, eager to strike should the worst happen. If this great beast is allowed to break free, they will face another grueling battle.[break][break]
“This region’s my home, but it’s just one thing after another.” Despite himself, he smiles a humorless smile. He remembers being unnerved at how cavalier Kyle and the others were when they described their adventures. Navy, at last, begins to understand. Hoenn is a place where those who fight its many battles become overstimulated by the absurd.[break][break]
“Anyone who helps out, even a little, deserves to rest easy.” The Rocket’s ball clicks. Gouging Fire is his. Another tool for the long war. At least this man sounds like it will not idly use the beast. He prays that it will not spill the blood of foolish young men who little understand the stakes.[break][break]
“Congrats.” Silence follows the word. Roland’s blade does not relax. “So…your buddies upstairs want you to try and kill me now, huh?” He speaks with little emotion. Exhausted as he is by the fight, it’s hard to muster up his usual enthusiasm for battle. All the same, he’s ready for what must inevitably come.

The words he speaks are met with a wry smile, even though he can't see it.

"It's a bit different now with your ascension....If you were still just a Gym Leader I could ignore you, and we could part....But if I let an Elite Four member just walk away...." It might seem like a stupid excuse to the other man, but it was the truth. There were some targets that he could wholeheartedly allow to just leave, or only play with a bit, but Navy was no longer one of them. As much as he respected the other man. "I don't believe in killing unduly...." It was the truth, words that he had spoken to Preston Fugu not that long ago.

It was a tactless last resort, and Amor at the end of the day had no true interest in weakening the region if he could help it.

"Take a few moments to heal your pokemon should they require it." Two Max Potions would be tossed over to the other landing harmlessly at his feet, and he would take his own place across from him. In lieu of his fatigued Dragonite, he would instead send out his Archaludon.

"Consider this gratitude for helping me capture the beast that I wanted." There was no need to be ungrateful, and while some of his colleagues would absolutely reprimand him for acting this way. What they didn't know wouldn't hurt him in the end, and if it did come back to bite him, he was sure that he could figure out some excuse one way or the other. Escaping death was a skill for him at this particular point in time so he wasn't to worried.

Why did he have to go, and get promoted.... He thought silently to himself.

“Killing doesn’t solve anything. All it does is make more people hate.” He remembers a bygone dream, of how good it felt to feel his father’s face cave under his fist. There was power in that feeling, joy in wielding his might.[break][break]
“All that’ll happen if I kill you today’s that I’ll have to tell someone that a person they love’s dead. You’re not a robot, even if you try n’ look like one with that mask.” The second spray takes root in his iron knight, who still wears a crown bearing eighteen jewels.[break][break]
“Ready when you are.” Instead of sending out Gout, Navy chooses instead to keep Roland on the field. Knights and dragons are natural enemies. It feels right to send him against the Dragonite. Holding his one-armed stance, Roland’s cold, clinical eyes wait for the inevitable attack.

The man heals his pokemon, and then with that Iron Knight he stands at the ready against the Steel Dragon. Mortal enemies as they were, it would be a clash of steel against steel.

"If you kill me, no one will miss me Mr. Navidson you have nothing to fear....No one will seek vengeance for my death I assure you. You can fight without fear of such reprisal." Because that was the simple truth, it was one that he had accepted long ago. Walter would probably miss him, but he was also getting along in years, while he would be able to give Navy a run for his money, Amor didn't know if the old man would win.

Maybe the members of his Team Nebula might miss him, but they weren't necessarily friends, he doubted they'd seek vengeance for his death.

No he was alone as he always had been. Tenuous connections were no better than torn rope, but that also allowed him to fight without reserve when he felt the need for it. Maybe after a while longer he'd have someone who would miss him, but there was no one now.

"Ready.....Begin...." He gave the order to his Archaludon, it's claws extending with metallic energy, and it lunged forward towards the Knight that was to be his opponent for this particular bout. There was no ceremony, there was none of his usual joy as he started this particular battle because he couldn't allow there to be this time.

Before him stood not just another opponent, but a member of the Elite Four, and he would have to fight like his life depended on it, and it just filled him with dread.

"For what it's worth....I understand what it is like to have a loved one taken from you, so you have my condolences....For whatever that can mean to you."

Roland rushes as their foe gives his command. Waiting for a command is suboptimal, especially when he knows one will come. It is certain, the way sunrise is certain. Humans speak, Pokemon fight. That is the way of things. A metal claw rakes against his galaxy blade. Fae energy bursts from the blade, a spirit break enhanced both by his own typing and the light of the tera. Roland skirts by, sliding until he stands close to the trainer they are supposed to fight.[break][break]
The iron machine pays him no mind. He knows Navy. Navy, for all his big talk, is too soft. Unless this Rocket posed an active threat to another life, he would never consider a kill order. The battle is illogical like that.[break][break]
“Then don’t you dare fuckin’ die, man!” He shouts like he’s giving an order to one of his soldiers. “Whoever they were, you think they’d want you to die somewhere like this?!” They’re stupid words, driven by emotion. He implores a man dead-set on giving this fight his all not to die here.[break][break]
That’s just the sort of animal he is.
