What was the deal with all these Magikarp, did they never seem to run out of the fish?

While he knew that Feebas were the more problematic Hoennian variety of Magikarp, Lars could only stare in silent wonder at the incredulity of having to catch all of these for… for what?

What were they going to get out of this?

Since it was pretty late when he dropped by the stall, the line was shorter—but not by much. He’d heard the complaining from the other one he was in occasional contact with, the same man who pointed out that his Meganium had evolved in the garden that they now had custody over—but truly, this was nuts.

Was the population swept up by Magikarp fever? He couldn’t tell.

Either way, he grabbed a flimsy-looking net and waited his turn, eventually getting a spot once some loud, rowdy fishers decided to go away and catch something to eat.

He then takes aim and casually drops the net, wondering what he’ll get.

not the best looking fish, but it was time to give another go. olivia had meara scare the fish towards her while oeroe kept them funneling towards olivia. she rolled her shoulders and dived down to catch a cuter magikarp.

She's singing a little tune to herself this time, a quiet little thing about the fish in the sea. An old song, one she doubts anyone would expect her to know.

It's quiet, barely able to hear it herself. Almost like a shy child trying not to disturb anyone while she seeks the catch of another magikarp for her string of visits.

"What the hell--" he struggled pulling it off and looked it right in it's deadass eyes.

"I swear if you orange pricks keep popping up, I'm going to start sacrificing you in an attempt to summon Kyogre or something, okay?"

He tossed the magikarp back in, re-baited his line, and tossed it back as well.

he gets another magikarp, though it wasn't as pretty as the magikarp that the other fishers get. while he doesn't usually care about the appearance of any pokemon besides his dogs, the fact that he's quite unlucky compared to others makes him kinda sad.

no other way around it besides testing his luck multiple times until he gets one that he wants. he casts his line once more.

This time Alexei had a sluing bag with him, and inside said sling bag were a half-dozen bottles of ramune. For some reason he got more than a little hooked on the thing and was now guzzling it down like there was no tomorrow.[break][break]

Thank heck the stands here sell the stuff… he thought idly as he reached in and pulled out an orange-colored bottle. Shaking it a bit, he marveled at the marble that was inside before popping it open and taking a drink from the fizzy liquid inside.[break][break]

Of course, he was in line again at the Magikarp pond…wait, it wasn’t a pond anymore at this point. The booth had gotten so large and had gained so much renown there were now at least what, three, four separate tanks to accommodate the sudden rush of people who wanted to try their luck at fishing something up for what?[break][break]

A prize?[break][break]

Grabbing another fishing pole, he then waits in line, sipping away at his orange-flavored ramune until he’s close enough to one of the tanks to cast his line and dunk it in.[break][break]

Who knows what would nibble this time?[break][break]

This one was a plain Jane, basic bitch as they came, but Rose appreciated that traditional look: The orange scales, yellow trim, those big buggy empty eyes with soulless pinpricks for pupils. She might've even preferred the plain one to some of the others she had caught. They were classic.[break][break]

"Go on, lil guy" Gently she undoes him from the hook, getting her hands slippery with stinky fish scales in the process. She baits once more, then rinses her hands off in the pool of water. She still stank of Magikarp, but no use trying to get clean now-- there was still fishing to do! Besides, the smell became less offensive the longer she sat with it.

priam doesn't know how to fish. he never had an opportunity to do so despite having lived in vermillion as a child. he did try to jump on them and grab them with his hands however, but that was different from using a rod.

he waits, a lot of groaning and whining happening in between the waiting, but he eventually gets a bite. he quickly stands up from a sitting position and tugs the line with full force.

A small part of Isra wonders if there would be a chance to take any of these fish home when everything is said and done.

It'd be a good way to make herself a pond and make sure whatever fish were left where given a good home. She'd hate to see them left to flop about or what have you.
