She's fishing because apparently harassing the attendant about where they got all their fish without participating is frowned on. She is quite certain this is mostly just a distraction so she's making a bit of a scene questioning the poor thing. Mostly because she's not afraid to be loud enough to be heard and if people are eyeing her she doesn't really care.

Thinking about how little he got done during the festival, Derek was at least optimistic that he was able to make a friend or two while attending the festivities that were organized for trainers and citizen alike. But knowing that this was the last day was a sort of bittersweet notion, and so he took his time to try and squeeze everything he could out of every moment.

Checking to make sure his lure was fastened to the line, Derek proceeded to drop the line on the ground once or twice to make sure the reel was functioning correctly. Once everything seemed to be in order, he looked out over the water's surface in search of activity.

The sail of a magikarp just barely breaching the top of the water caught his eye, and after a deep breath to relax his nerves, Derek cast out in that spot. After a few moments he could feel something take to his line, and after fighting with it for some time, the trainer finally reeled in his prize...
