Lutgarde is a bit surprised to find someone inside the waterfall. Not in a cave behind it, with their silhouettes visible through the rushing water, but truly and well inside the waterfall, with water pouring down on them and all. Frankly, they've thought this sort of situation was more of a myth - but now, they were observing it life and real and, most of all, kind of a dangerous situation?

They approached, worry not seeping through their light steps as they wave and smile. "Hey there! Are you training here?" they ask, and see that the Primeape might seem a bit unhappy with the situation at hand. Maybe they could help ... even if they would need to figure out a situation to get the other trainer dry quickly. It's getting warmer, but it's definitely not that warm.

"Wanna have a battle, you and me? Your Primeape seems really strong, it'd be a honour."

Lutgarde is glad that they made the right call with the pokémon battle, relieving the Primeape from its predicament. Almost immediately, they wanted to call in Sylv as usual, but ... one of the pokéballs to their left starts moving eagerly.

And there's only one pokémon in a ball right now, with Sylph hovering nearby, just slightly out of sight.

"Alright - Zylf, it's your turn!" they call, taking the ball and throwing it to call out their Impidimp which, immediately, starts snickering a bit dubiously. Nonetheless, his attitude's improved compared to before - and it seems like he's actually eager to battle. "Would you like to start or should I?"

Sylv loafs next to Lutgarde, the ribbon always firmly tied around their wrist.

Lutgarde exchanges one longer glance with their pokémon, before nodding with a grin mirroring the other trainer's. Oh. Hang on. "I'm Lutgarde by the way," they introduce themself, having done so now only after their pokémon name has been revealed. But better late than never!

However, with that settled, the fight could start properly, and they grin. "Alright, Zylf!" they call, and the determined pokémon suddenly wavers, seemingly intimidated by the Focus Energy of his opponent. The Impidimp calls out in fear, seemingly running off the battlefield, before making a sharp turn when he thinks his Fake Out worked, to attack the Primeape with a cackle. A strategy that Lutgarde doesn't usually employ - they prefer to take the shortest path, and feints just ... don't really vibe with them.

However, they are a bit curious how the other might react so such a battle style, and well. They need to adapt to Zylf, too, when they know he's making all the effort not to steal anymore (or that much, at least). "A good Fake Out," they compliment, before looking at Thea. "Thought we might try something new." Well, clearly, Zylf's experienced, but they themself don't seem entirely at home here.

Lutgarde grins, and then does a casual curtsy which kind of has "swagger" vibes that clash slightly with the curtsy, "Thanks! Zeus is also quite ferocious, eh?" they laugh. "This dress in particular is from a shop in Kalos, but I found some good ones in Hoenn, too." Especially those that were Kalos-imports - they might be a bit biased.

Zylf is not happy about being kept up close, but he does a good job of slipping through here and there occasionally. Nonetheless, there's not that much to do when all you do is dodging. "Zylf, focus up! Sucker Punch!" Lutgarde calls out, and the Impidimp nods.

Here, here- he's hit square by the Cross Chop, but sees an opening now, and he's an opportunist if nothing else. While being sent flying, he also tries to leverage some of that to use his Sucker Punch to hit Zeus as well.

"Absolutely!" Lutgarde grins and agrees immediately. "Do you have time after the battle? Some are nearby, in Slateport City." There*s also ones in Mauville, and actually a good one in Lilycove which Lutgarde appreciates quite a bit.

In the battle, Zylf is not the only person who takes an attack as an opportunity for an attack. It seems like, it's the opportunity-opportunity attack! He screeches with surprise as he's suddenly lifted up in a Seismic Toss, leaving him now actually out of any schemes to play. The fall is surprisingly painless, however, but it does leave him with cracked pride.

Zylf quickly jumps up again, and now Swaggers, feigning absolute casualness and hoping to infuriate the battle-savy pokémon enough to confuse it. However, he might also be powered by that, too ...

The Impidimp's been hit hard by the Primeape's attacks (or maybe he just couldn't tank them well), but there's a cackle to his visage that doesn't entirely seem to fade. Nonetheless, the attack comes and he's unblinking - and even though the hit never connects, he only stays upright for one more moment, before falling backwards as if actually hit. Lutgarde does see that their pokémon is at their wits end now, and nods as Thea calls the battle over. "Zeus' got his heart in the right place, hmm? That was a really good fight - I got to learn a bunch," they grin, approaching Thea and offering a handshake. "We've got some ways to go, but I think it'll be neat." To fully adapt to Zylf, they'd have to learn some dirty tricks ... which also seem like a good idea to learn in general.

They seem a bit helpless as Thea dries her hair further and they couldn't really offer any help, but- "Ah, I did pack a towel," they say, and offer Thea a clean one should she want to use it. "Don't think I got any warming moves on my pokémon."

However, they quickly also get excited about showing Thea to some of the stores that they have found in the recent months, after some heavy digging in the internet. "I'd be happy to take you then!" they grin, maybe also hoping for Thea to get some dry clothes then ... even if they probably will be dry before getting to the store. "Are you cold? Do you want my coat, actually?" Since it's still March, they carried a warm cape-like coat with them, but they aren't cold themself at the moment.

Lutgarde laughs and nods in agreement, "He has his cute charm, hm?" they grin. As soon as Thea goes for the firm handshake, they unconsciously strengthen their handshake, too, returning it even firmer. "He is rather smart, isn't he? Maybe a bit too much for his own good," they laugh in reply to the comments about Zylf - maybe one more reason they have a hard time connecting ... they are of a rather simple mind. But slowly and steadily, they would find the middle ground!

Then, the ranger fully engages helper mode, offering Thea everything she might need so she wouldn't catch a cold. They seem a bit but... when the coat's denied, but do not insist further, especially when the hot cocoa comes up. They grin, and nod. "Then, shall we get to it?" they say, starting to walk towards Slateport City proper. "I must say, tho, I haven't been to many cafés yet ... so you have to take care of that part, deal?" they grin.
