Troublemaker, meet the Princess. Princess, meet the Troublemaker.” Princess is the most on the nose name one could possibly give Diancie, but that’s just the sort of man he is.[break][break]
Taking out a folding chair, he plops it down, and has himself a seat. One struck match later and he has himself a cigar.[break][break]
“So, what are you gonna do, now that you’ve got a legendary Pokemon right in front of you?”

But as soon as she's adjusted to the ephemeral glow, Eris does her best to straighten up, lips parted in awe at the sheer glamour that stands before her.[break][break]

Compared to Diancie, she's like a piece of coal. Her hair's a little messy, so are her clothes. And she must look rather unsightly with those scars and eyepatch. Still, she does her very best, curtseying before the princess and stumbling a few steps to the left as she tries to recover her balance.[break][break]

"Nice to meet you, Diancie! Don't listen to what Navy said. I have a proper name and it's Eris! Eris Rosmontis Halla!" A side eye is thrown towards Navy, only to grow into a squint when she spies him lighting yet another cigar. A bad habit, but she supposes it's how he must cope with all the pressure - Like how some adults turn to alcohol or love to drown out the worries.[break][break]

"And well, I'd like to know more about you." It's rude to turn her attention away for too long, so she turns back with a leatherbound journal in hand. "You see, momma once told me stories about a princess carved from the most precious of stones. Made of the rosiest diamonds and blessed with the kindest glow... I'm guessing that story must've been talking about you, huh? Since you're just as pretty as she described her to be!"

“Aw look, you’ve gone and made her blush.” Navy laughs, the joyous sound echoing off the cavern walls. Diancie hides her face. Even the prettiest lady never tires of hearing a well-placed compliment. Cracking open a root beer, Navy takes a sip. He’s mostly just here to observe, guard Diancie, make sure there’s no trouble.[break][break]
Not that there would be trouble, here in the heart of League territory. It’s not quite as sweet as his gig guarding Calyrex, telling tales beneath the dyna tree, but it’ll do. For now, he’ll give some occasional input, let Eris have her fun.[break][break]
“Eris Rosmontis Halla’s a real pretty name too, ain’t it Diancie?” He’s always liked her name. Her parents named her better than his ever did. “Guess it makes sense our Princess here would look like this. She’s a Rock and Fairy type, according to the eggheads. Only makes sense, type like that, she’d be one pretty gem. Word on the street is she can mega evolve, too.”

It underwent a transformation and had the same appearance as it looks out there in the seas... and then a whole bunch of pokemon around it also did the same. The princess looks at them with wide eyes, tilting her head as she coos. The exact same look that Mesprit gives her when she asks a rather strange question that they possess no answers for.[break][break]

This time, there is a brighter response, a smile as Diancie floats a little closer to her. And within cupped hands, something sparkly begins to form - A small, brilliant pink diamond.[break][break]

To grace it with a word as base as beautiful is to give insult to the princess, but Navy knows no better word for what he’s seeing. Navy smiles at the thought, but doesn’t voice it. He doesn’t even know if Eris knows Elise. Instead, he commends Eris for her question.[break][break]

Asking seemingly obvious questions either helps to eliminate ideas or give rise to brand new avenues of thought. Diancie’s response to Eris’s last question is an enthusiastic nod. Her response is another weight off Navy’s shoulder. Although he does not have the same apprehension regarding the League’s relationship with Diancie that he does with Jirachi, her answer is good all the same. These legendary beings are gods, removed from their rightful title by humanity’s rigorous need to categorize and understand the world around them. Navy does not know Diancie’s history, if it even has a history. All he knows is that he finds it hard to believe she would be anywhere besides precisely where she wants to be.[break][break]
Maybe, just maybe, that will raise Eris’s opinion of the League just a smidge. A man can dream. It certainly raises his, to know that Dahlia Goode practices what she preaches. It sets her apart from many of her predecessors.[break][break]
“Far as I understand it, we ask Diancie for help. She says yes more than she says no.” There’s ways to read that poorly. They never force her, they just bait her with promises of going outside. Rocket propaganda could still spin that into a negative.[break][break]
“The League doesn’t force people to fight. I used to not believe that myself, but…it’s something I find really admirable, you know?” Forcing the young to march to war is Rocket’s game.

Diancie's answer begins promptly, but is equally quick to die off when she realises that her voice is lost upon a language barrier. And she pauses for a moment, frowning as she tries her very best to gesture something.[break][break]

"Diamond?"[break][break]

Her head shakes.[break][break]

"So you weren't carved?"[break][break]

A nod, as she continues to repeat tracing the air.[break][break]

"Not a diamond... something that looks diamond-shaped?" Nod. "A pokemon?" Nod again, this time a little more lively as Diancie cheers. "Hmm... A Carbink? You're both jewel pokemon... are you two somehow related? Like an ultra super rare evolution?"[break][break]

A nod that slowly turns to a confused squint.[break][break]

"Huh, not that? I guess there'd be more Diancies running about if we figured out the evolution conditions." Backtrack, think it through again. "Then... a variant? Like a mutation of sorts?"[break][break]

A squeal and gleeful clapping almost reminds her of just how Mesprit would act when she figured something out. Out comes her notebook, flipped to a specifically tagged page, her pen tip softly scratching the surface with this brand new information.[break][break]

"Well... momma once told me that Carbink are created deep beneath the earth and that there could be a kingdom of jewels from which new Carbinks are formed. Do you have a kingdom like that, Diancie?"
