Melody had been incredibly busy since her sudden ascension up the league's hierarchy as the top champion. She didn't like how it happened but that didn't allow her to shirk her duties. She had been trying to text Michael Navidson but she had gotten sloppy with her replies, taking a couple of hours to reply and not remembering to even hit send when she did. [break][break]

She puts her phone away as the wind starts to whip up in the forest next to foretree. She looks in the direction the wind was going to head towards and suddenly a strike of lightning flies across the sky as a time-space distortion opens up. "No! That's so close to to the island! The pokemon are in danger!" she shouts as suddenly she flies onto her noivern and rushes towards the distrotion. [break][break]

Melody gets on her league comms and calls out on the local channels, surely rangers and ollie were nearby "S.O.S, DANGER. Foretree forest currently has a time-space distortion in it, the pokemon on the island are in danger! Melody Miro is requesting back up!" was ollie nearby?

As many spare moments as Yuina had in an otherwise busy life, she still tried to make time to work around route 119 and fortree city, given the amount of distortions that seemed to accumulate in the area.[break]
All along the central route of the region and into the north, there had been more distortions within that area alone than in many other places around the region. It might not actually mean anything, there never seemed to be any causation for a distortion to form in its entirety, but Yuina wasn't going to let up on trying to track, chase, and study as many as she could.[break][break]
Working on some of the readers she had, adjusting the equipment that she had worked on with Tempest Quinn, Yuina sat astride the back of Harrow's neck as the Braviary flew over route 119.[break]
The day had been uneventful, until her league communicator began to alert, an immediate call to anyone in the surrounding area, directly from Melody Miro. A distortion was forming around the northern portion of Fortree, the island project that she and the rangers were working on was in the wake of it...[break][break]
"This is Yuina Higashi reporting, calling in from Route 119. I am airborn and en route to Fortree Forest," Yuina reported in on the communicator, holding fast to Harrow as she urged the Braviary to pick up speed.[break]
"Melody, has the distortion fully formed? Has the rift touched ground?"

That being said, there were still no less dangerous than they had been before &mdash and so it was up to the rangers to make sure that any threats were well-contained.

[break][break] "Mels," Ollie shouted into the League communication line. "I'm on my way!"

[break][break] When he arrived, the Head Ranger was on the back of his Dragonite. The pokemon's broad wings formed a shadow over the back of newly-primed Champion status Melody Miro as he landed, boots hitting the soft soil of Fortree forest's coast, where the distortion had already begun to form. Lightning streaked across the sky as the Ranger reached for his belt, tossing his Wyrdeer's pokebalsl into the air.

[break][break] "Mocha, Mozz! Help the pokemon find shelter."

[break][break] A family of Skovet trembled underneath the trees, fearful of their fate. Both Wyrdeer were quick to work, using their PSYCHIC power to barricade the pokemon inside for protection.

[break][break] Ollie glanced behind him, looking out for the other two, as he called into the line once again:

Two rangers respond and thankfully it was familiar voices. "Yuina! Ollie! Thank god" she exclaims over the comms, as ollie lands on the coast of the forest Melody manages to spot him. "I just got here, behind you!" she comments as her Noivern she rode on strikes at a stray Porygon trying to hyper beam ollie.[break][break]

She lands gracefully as Noivern unleashes a sonic screech towards the forest to size up the competition with echo location. However as the soundwaves bounce back into it's ears. It gives Melody a fearful look, something inside that forest was scary to it. Melody placed a hand on it's head and tried to calm it down. She looked towards Ollie "There's a lot of scary pokemon in the forest." she says as she summons Meloetta to her side and tries to reach out to cobalion through their connection "Cobalion's guarding the island if any strays try to cross the ocean."[break][break]

Suddenly a streak of RED light flies towards melody's noivern taking it out instantly. "NOIVERN!" she cries out as the pokemon instantly faints. She whips her head around to see a strange looking ursaluna with a red mark on it's head "What is that thing?!"

Meloetta strikes back, it wastes no time unleashing a RELIC SONG that ravages the creature's body, but it did not last very long.
