That being said, there were still no less dangerous than they had been before &mdash and so it was up to the rangers to make sure that any threats were well-contained.

[break][break] "Mels," Ollie shouted into the League communication line. "I'm on my way!"

[break][break] When he arrived, the Head Ranger was on the back of his Dragonite. The pokemon's broad wings formed a shadow over the back of newly-primed Champion status Melody Miro as he landed, boots hitting the soft soil of Fortree forest's coast, where the distortion had already begun to form. Lightning streaked across the sky as the Ranger reached for his belt, tossing his Wyrdeer's pokebalsl into the air.

[break][break] "Mocha, Mozz! Help the pokemon find shelter."

[break][break] A family of Skovet trembled underneath the trees, fearful of their fate. Both Wyrdeer were quick to work, using their PSYCHIC power to barricade the pokemon inside for protection.

[break][break] Ollie glanced behind him, looking out for the other two, as he called into the line once again:

[break][break] "Yuyu, Mels - you guys far away? I've landed on the coast."

[attr="class","littleollie"] "Distortions are bound to be scary," he reminds Melody Miro. He flashes her what he hopes is a warm, encouraging smile. "Don't worry, we'll take care of it."

[break][break] It isn't anything they hadn't dealt with before.

[break][break] They have no way of knowing unless they go to investigate, and so Ollie leads the way into the forest alongside the League's Elite Four, only to screech to a stop at the sight of something unfamiliar.

[break][break] Uh oh.

[break][break] "We're fine!" he calls over to Yuina Higashi when she flies in, and her words confirm his suspicions. A BLOODMOON URSALUNA... he'd heard of it in the reports submitted by the other Rangers, but this was the first time that he'd seen one up close.

[break][break] Light erupts in the swirling darkness as his Tyrantrum storms just beside Yuina Higashi's Samurott. A mighty roar fills the forest as River attempts to close in on the strange pokemon with a ROCK SLIDE attack.

[break][break] It comes naturally to him. Ollie has always known that Melody Miro was a strong battler, ever since she whipped those Groudon worshippers into place in Sootopolis City. But before he can take action, Yuina Higashi speaks up.

[break][break] Ollie blinks, then remembers all the conversations that he's shared with the Elite Ranger. If there's anything who knows distortions well outside of illeana reyes, then it'd definitely be Yuina. She'd been following them, after all, for the last few months.

[break][break] "Actually, we should listen to Yuina, Mels. Let's give it a shot."

[break][break] Plus, Ollie thought, it was easier this way. It was second nature to a Ranger to try to solve things peacefully rather than with action.

[break][break] He reached into his belt, releasing the Blissey that Melody Miro had gifted him long ago.

[break][break] "I can keep him distracted and subdued. Yuina, you can work on protecting him from any flying boulders."

[break][break] Bubblegum floated forward on silent wings even as the wind ripped around them, before a lovely song rippled into the air and straight for the raging Ursaluna.

[break][break] Green eyes glance back towards the younger Ranger, catching on the sight of all the equipment that she's brought with her. She's prepared. But Ollie had never expected anything less; he trusted her.

[break][break] "We can do that!" he said, voice ringing out clear amongst the chaos. His eyes snap to Melody Miro's own. It feels just like it was on the ship back in Sootopolis, back when they'd first really met. "Right, Mels?"

[break][break] The lullaby that sings for the URSALUNA continues strong, even as the beast roars in defiance, twisting against the blades of Yuina Higashi's Hisuian Salamance. Just a little longer... just a little bit more...

[break][break] "Close your ears!" he shouts, suddenly, clasping palms over his own. To his Blissey, he shouts: "Bubblegum, sing!"

[break][break] The careening melody, effusively bright and demanding, echoes through the trees like a sonar — the SING blasting through to the Ursaluna in an attempts to quell its unnatural rage.
