Lulu's mind unravels like a spool of loose thread. Cillian, tied to her by genetics and paranoia alike, is pulled along for the ride.[break][break]

He nods at the digital element. Of course she'd be one to pick up on that; she was the most tech savvy between them. "Not to mention that whole business with the Cloud, and the simulation."[break][break]

The room seems colder. In lieu of his meal, Cillian digests his sister's words. It was all too convenient. That Holo's prized companion would turn its cloak? That the Unown would mark the Visionary?[break][break]

"They're using her." He finds himself just as afraid for Naomi Sato as he is furious with her. "To get someone on the inside. What if they were using Del Mar, too?" He doesn't often speak of the former underboss, but it's never seemed more relevant. "The moment he left for Sinnoh, the Unown abandoned him. Because there's nothing in Sinnoh the Triad need as much as here."

What Lulu Flint says has merit. While Tempest is still angry at Naomi Sato for choosing League over them, regardless of the reason, it does cause worry. Yet, Tempest is a Quinn in name alone. His paranoia isn't as great as the two siblings so he does not fall into it as easily.[break][break]

"I think we would need to know if Nomi is a 'unique' Avatar or not." Somewhere along the line he had placed his knife and fork down, leaning his elbows on the table to mull over the conundrum. "If there are many Unown Avatars across multiple universes? She is, like, for sure being set up as eyes inside puppet. But if she's the only one? I can see how she could have some Queen Bee Unown Sexy Pheromones."[break][break]

But that was a big 'if' and ones he wasn't sure he was willing to bet on.[break][break]

"Haven't we talked to them with the RKS machine?" Is asked, of the Triad itself. He can vaguely remember one mocking him once upon a time.

the fact darkrai had left her too was a point that went unmentioned, not useful in her dinner table warfare. she took bites, basking in satisfaction at what she’d drummed up, before finally looking over at temp and making a face. ”pheromones?”[break][break]

but the concept was interesting. she chewed on it for a moment before answering him.[break][break]

”they’re in the simulations, yes. father winter, maldacena, and others. naomi encountered nisa holo in one, though her avatarship is evident that it was very real.”[break][break]

she watched over the edge of her wine glass expectantly for the rest of his thought.[break][break]

Cillian dips his head in acknowledgement to Lulu; his friendship with the former underboss had blinded him to the possibility that a partnership with the Unown might be a bad thing. In the beginning, he'd felt the same toward Naomi Sato. Proud, awed, but never worried about her intentions or of those beyond her.

Now, he shifts to the opposite extreme.

"I've only ever experienced the Triad of the simulation as an echo of themselves, like anything else. I've heard of the encounter with Holo, however, and the differences there."

He has not, still did not trust the RKS simulation.

"If they can affect the reality of the simulation, who's to say they're not collecting the data we offer them through it?" Cillian scowls. "I'd sooner never run another sim."

Unfortunately, he would always follow an order given.

Tempest is quiet as he soaks in everything that Lulu Flint and Cillian Quinn talk about. The Unown, the RKS, the Triad.... it all was too much to think about.[break][break]

But something about it nagged at him.[break][break]

"You guys visited a like... computer thing, once, didn't you?" Tempest hadn't been there for that. For some dark promises of the future that started all this worry. It made him think... and think... and wonder....[break][break]

"Could we use the RKS to break back into that place? If it's... connected to the Triad, could we... use it as a backdoor?"

she had her theories regarding the simulations and how real they might be. as for the data collection, she was almost certain.[break][break]

“of course they’re collecting data," she said to cillian. "we were meant to take the seal stone, and it has maldacena written all over it.”[break][break]

for years, she suspected they’d been infiltrated. she had resigned to go with the current of rocket’s collective trust, having failed to steer them away.[break][break]

she was along for the ride by this point, suspicions merely brought up out of spite – but it was leading to something more intriguing than the sound of her own broken record.[break][break]

”it’s an interesting idea.” she considered it a moment before continuing, ”it’s possible that the seal stone is not limited to local data. perhaps it’s connected to the cloud somehow, and if not, maybe there is some signature in the simulations we just haven’t found yet.”[break][break]

People had been injured, had died, and they'd still managed to come out all right.[break][break]

He wrinkles his nose. Lulu Flint was right about the Seal Stone. Cillian had fought hard alongside Rocket to claim something that may well prove their doom. He wasn't sure about Maldecena.[break][break]

He'd rather never visit the simulation again, but duty called.[break][break]

"A backdoor?" For someone everyone thought was an idiot, Tempest Quinn could be a genius. "That's worth looking into. Even if all the digging only gives us a better understanding of the tech, that's something, right?"
