Within moments, still as unsettling as always, the simulation shifts around them both. The way the environment changed so suddenly, so abruptly every time was nothing less than unnerving and left Yuina with a sickly taste in her mouth, even as the shift took place to somewhere... actually beautiful.[break][break]
"Alola? This simulation really does go everywhere," Yuina wondered, everywhere that she had never been, or couldn't remember being. It was only recently that she had come to realize just how small her world still was, Hoenn was her only frame of reference on anything, save for Hisui... There was a whole world around her that she just hadn't considered.[break][break]
"What are we supposed to do here, I don't--," she muttered, it didn't look like there was anything wrong or anything that was happening... Until she turned and locked eyes with the imposing bird at the edge of the cliff.[break][break]

A vision of a future passes in front of their conscious thoughts, pushing away any other imaginings in the forefront of their minds for the time being. A thrashing silhouette consumed by fire, marred by smoke, rushing figures in every direction. The heat is palpable, they can almost choke on the smoke as it fills the air, but the screams of all of those afflicted are that much more overpowering. Flashes of chaos, dark clad figures, voices shouting for calls to action push through the vision, when there's a lifeless black clothed body surrounded by pooling blood, a pile of indiscriminate rubble and debris and a doll just off to the side. A loud call of a siren disrupted all other ambient noise, and then the vision is through, their conscious thoughts released.

Eddie winced as the vision took hold. He unconsciously pressed a hand against his temple, pulse thundering as his head was suddenly wracked by an indescribable pain, [break][break]

“Yuina, what's happening?” [break][break]

A pile of rubble. People screaming. Fire and smoke and blood and crushed concrete. He holds a doll in his hands, and there's tears in his eyes now, as a Kleavor moves to cut a man wearing a big red R down. Eddie, but not-Eddie, carries away the body of a girl, and a Rapidash plods at his side. [break][break]

The vision and the simulation fizzled out together, and Eddie gasped like he was coming up for air. He suddenly snapped his head to Yuina, [break][break]

“Holy shit.” [break][break]

It took a moment for him to realize it, but tears were rolling down his cheeks now. The younger woman's silhouette wavered and and became indistinct until Eddie took two rough palms and hastily scrubbed away at his eyes, [break][break]

Memories being brought to the forefront of the subconscious felt intrusive in a way, forceful when those memories had either been buried for a reason, or didn't belong in the first place.[break]
The past felt familiar, homing, regardless of what it might entail. The past had already happened, like watching a show that you've already seen before and knowing already how it ends, so you don't have to wonder.[break][break]
But the future was uncertain, tumultuous, like the feeling right when your foot falls through the air when you think there's an extra step that wasn't really there. It didn't matter what was being shown, good or bad, the unknowable, of if it were really true or not was always the same... And it was this feeling that Yuina clung to as the bird relinquished its hold on their conscious thoughts.[break][break]
Yuina had experienced memories, visions of the past, visions of the future and everything in between... She didn't need to guess or wonder at Eddie's question, she knew exactly what had just transpired.[break][break]
That didn't make it any easier though...[break][break]
"A future...," Yuina murmered after a moment, eyes distant, cloudy, unblinking.[break]
"That was a vision, showing us a future...," she spoke, quietly, blinking furiously as her bleary eyes struggled to focus... She could swear the blood was still on her hands.[break][break]
"Eddie I don't want to go back into the simulations again..."
