You are only as good as your tools. Jill may have broken once in the past, but she cleans and sharpens her weapons so that they may never meet the same fate. Too easily can a knife shatter, and when you're against foes that may be stronger than you, you can't be caught without some means to fight back.[break][break]

With her in this exercise is Fenelle Miller, a grunt just like her. Sat at a table while taking care of her equipment, she barely pays them any mind.[break][break]

Frankly, Fenelle has never had much interactions with the active use of weapons. Dee knows the general gist of their functionality, but using one is an entirely different story. But, it's very much needed in the upcoming war efforts, even if they may not prove deadly to pokémon ... humans are oh so fragile.

A Rotom in a tablet is floating next to Fenelle, having already displayed the explanatory I'm deaf, and my Rotom here will translate speech-to-text and sign-to-text. If it's wrong, do let me know. However, the Rotom knows that there better not be any mistakes. Dee nods at Jill asking if Fenelle's correct, and then ponders for a moment, before starting to sign.

I think I'll take a lightweight gun ... I might need to move quickly on foot if I'm deployed to server rooms and the like.

You find yourself within a well-stocked armory, thanks in part to the efforts of Aurelie Lefevre. Reinforced cases and steel shelving units contain weapons of various types: small arms, explosives, knives and other bladed tools. Adjacent to the armory is an open range used for the practice and maintenance of these weapons. [break][break]

She pulls out a small and simple dagger from her belt. Taking a small look at it before wiping it down with a cloth, its metal reflecting her face as she stares for a moment into the mirror.[break][break]

"Guns are well and all but useless once things really get heated up. I wouldn't get too used to them, they aren't the only weapons at our disposal. Take that Rotom of yours for example. In the past I've seen them zap down multiple people at once. A scary tool, if you know how to use it."[break][break]

She gets up to the stockpile of weapons in the armory. There was a plethora of firearms and blades to choose from, and she picks out a small handgun to hand over to her partner.[break][break]

"Here. Don't ever lose it."

Fenelle nods in agreement with Jill's words, looking at the weapon in her hand and then at the armory with a neutral expression that might betray gears turning behind. It's true that pokémon are vastly more effective - they're way more powerful. "It's kind of strange how we haven't managed to figure out a way to put their power into weaponry," dee contemplates, before receiving the small weapon with a thankful nod.

"But maybe that's only a matter of time, too." For now, dee closely looks as Jill cleans her weapon, and mirrors the movements, applying it to der new own handweapon.

She pays the instructor no mind. She's heard it all before and she didn't need someone telling her what she already knows. She continues cleaning as if they didn't exist. Something catches her eye however. A gun broken into pieces, she could easily put it back together, but she wanted to see just how apt the other grunt is.[break][break]

"Do you see that?" She turns her head slightly in the direction of the dismantled weapon. "See if you can fix it. In the middle of a battle, accidents can happen and we'll need to find out ways to mend our weapons should they happen."

It's hard to miss how Jill pays the instructor no mind, and Fenelle also finds demself observing the fellow grunt more than the instructor. "Have you done this often before? You seem very adept with guns," dee asks, impressed- and then there's a new challenge, actually.

Without hesitation, dee reaches for the broken gun, studying it as dee nods along to Jill's words appearing on the Rotom-tablet. "That's a good point ... let me see if I can figure it out. It's just a more dangerous puzzle, right?" In the end, once you figure out how one thing works out, the rest should fall into place easily ... ... dee does make sure to not point the gun at anyone, in case a bullet might be shot still.

She watches Fenelle as they get to work on the gun. While normally she didn't like to delve into questions about herself, it would help to quicken the time.[break][break]

"More than you'll ever know. They've practically become an extension of myself at this point."[break][break]

A sigh escapes her mouth. How many times has she fired these weapons, and how many times have they stolen lives? With the years she had lost track, but the numbers never matter. Only that she wasn't on the receiving end.[break][break]

As Fenelle finishes up, Jill takes hold of the gun and inspects every nook and cranny of it. A job well done.[break][break]

"Nice work. Looks like we're done for the day."[break][break]

She begins to work her way around various screens to end the simulation, but before she does, she turns to the grunt and speaks one more time.[break][break]

"Its very admirable of you to continue on this line of work despite your disability. Don't let anyone ever take advantage of you. Maybe we'll see each other again. Maybe we won't. But... try not to die."
