When passing people would see the tall form of the spectral mare, they were curious of the equine Pokemon. Elise had been the one to give the mare a home when she didn’t know where the shiny Spectrier came from though the ambassador presumes that she may have been separated from her herd after she got injured and her herd didn't go look for her. Looking down to her leporine friend, the diplomat is happy to see that he’s content to be with her and the mare.[break][break]

Though he hasn’t expressed that he wanted to ride on Llamrei either. Maybe he was waiting for that moment to.[break][break]

Taking the mare by her reins, the Spectrier trots along with the regal business suit clad purple-haired woman and her Calyrex shard. They’ll end up in Rustboro’s local park after having to cross some blocks around the street to get there. Elise does think that her Pokemon haven’t had time to play since she was so busy with her work at the embassy.[break][break]

“Perhaps I should read you a story first.” When she takes the female shiny Spectrier to the front of a park bench, the mare moves and lets the shard of Calyrex sit on the lap of the purple-haired woman. Elise takes out a book consisting of fairy tales from Kalos out of her backpack and reads one to Charles the Calyrex who yawns sleepily. [break][break]

“Cro-rown…”[break][break]

That was one of those moments that Elise enjoyed having to connect with her Pokemon without the pressures of her work.

a day for respite...

perhaps that was needed for the man than anything else. in retrospect, there was more to this foreign region than met silverio's azure eyes. there was still much for the paldea native to learn about hoenn. the terrain, the atmosphere, the culture. at least here in rustboro city, where he would be based as far as his services went, there was a level of familiarity that struck a chord on the man's strings in the sense that the quarried pavement felt unusually easy for him to tread along. despite the years invested in studies abroad, his experiences in his homeland surely couldn't come close as to what's transpired through his eyes here in hoenn.

or maybe...

supposed he hadn't learned enough from his travels through home to be able to compare the aforementioned experiences. perhaps a stroll through town ought to clear the air - and his head - of the many questions that brewed within black cauldron of his subconscious. silverio proceeded along the hardended stone paths through the city, stopping on the grounds of a park, with a tiny bird pokémon comfortably perched atop his head. what appeared to be an ethereal equine creature seemed to have caught the rookidee's eyes however, and soon enough, silv would find himself drawn to it as well.

upon approaching with utmost caution, words spoken from a nearby apparent recreation enjoyer prompted the man's attention. "that's quite a tale..." he called out, particularly noting the unusual specimens in tow, the little bird's wings flailing as if to say it agreed with its trainer. quite the entities they were indeed, unlike any that he had ever seen before.

She finishes one tale of a poor maiden who has to win the heart of a royal prince of a kingdom of flowers when the words of another get her attention. The shiny Spectrier cocks her head towards the Rookidee’s direction, maybe the mare is curious of the bird too and if it was taking interest in the equine Pokemon. Charles the Calyrex is a bit more interested in another story from the book that the ambassador reads to him.[break][break]

“Oh, thank you. It was one of my favorites when my father last read this to me as a childhood bedtime story.” The royal diplomat replies courteously like a proper princess to the man. “The books I read are on the politics of other regions and my country.” Remiel was kind enough to lend her a couple of the books he had read when he was the former ambassador and he told her to learn much from those kinds.[break][break]

Though maybe watching the world news on television was better..

"you don't say..." it was a valid explanation.

in fact, the man could vaguely recall his own parents telling similar tales of woe in a fantasy world to him and his siblings during their younger years, and despite how those stories had ended, the kids had always found enjoyment in the thrill of the adventures of which they could imagine themselves embarking on. alas, not every story was bound to have a happy ending. in the case of a man such as silverio traversing a new land, a world of which he could have assumed was fictional otherwise, his own story was a long way from ending. on the contrary, it had only just begun.

the small bird's eyes met the quadrapedal entity with keen intrigue, daring to drag itself closer to get a more firm look at it, except...oof! it was but a child-like rookidee after all. before it could gather itself, the poor bird slipped through the follicles of silverio's raven-hued locks, causing it to tumble. dextrous hands allowed for the man to swipe, securing the rookidee in the palms of his hands. "careful now..." the man motioned towards the top of his head, enabling the bird to reclaim its position, ruffling playfully within the man's scalp.

"if you don't mind..."

silv moved to take a seat at the edge of the bench, his attention drawn in by the woman and her childhood tidbit, his rookidee's eyes then directed to the other creature seated at her lap. "i'd be interested in hearing more. about those politics, that is. if they're anything like my homeland, then it'll be good to hear folks around other parts of the other world go about handling them."

This man had a Rookidee with him and from what she had experiences with them at the flying Pokemon sanctuary her friend owned in Fortree, they were curious little birds that evolved into fine Corviknight companions. He began to ask her about the politics she was involved with, something that she thinks would bore people if they weren’t in the same field as she was as an ambassador. [break][break]

“The politics that I deal with are fostering new relations with Hoenn and its government. My country allies itself with the League and my predecessor and elder cousin had been teaching me everything he knows.” Elise knows that Remiel had made Hoenn distrust Galar through his former affiliation with Rocket and she wants to affirm the stance Galar has with League. “When he resigned, it falls to me now along with the duty of being Galar’s royal princess. It is up to my position as its royal ambassador to ensure the well-being and happiness of my people here.”[break][break]

Along with the female ghostly equine Pokemon being a bit concerned that the Rookidee had almost injured itself, the hare king looks up at the bird too with curiosity.

this information was all brand-new to him, but alas, gaining any of it was for the sole purpose of learning. after all, that's why he was truly here in hoenn to begin with. an attempt to broaden his horizons around the mysteries of the world that remained unsolved to this day. politics were oftentimes a rather sensitive topic of discussion, but it was more than likely that not every region shared similar ideals. with that in mind, it was all the more reason why silverio would be invested in hearing about other regions' relations with hoenn.

his baby blues focused on the woman as she offered whatever form of information that she were openly willing to provide, nodding along as she went on, and the little rookidee trotting down to his shoulder which prompted him to stretch an arm out so that it could wander further downward, ultimately down to stand firm in his hand. it then returned its attention to the spectral mare, flapping its small wings wildly in excitement. "interesting...you could say that paldea - where i'm from - is kind of similar in the sense of seeking to harbor good relations."

but that's not why he was here; he came to study the region in its entirety, suppose that life as ranger would help with that, and in exchange, he'd thought of it as a means to give back to pokémon - they had helped him some of the more challenging trials of life. "i never imagined myself getting acquainted with royalty though." eyes swiftly widened at a sudden realization...should he be bowing or kneeling to this woman right now!? "crap..." suppose that hoennian customs, as well as of those of other regions, were among the many subjects he'd sought to learn, and also to write home about.

silv's eyes then shifted between the woman and her peculiar companions, loose scratching the back of his head all the while. "sorry, almost forgot my manners there for a sec...i'm silverio delfino, and as aforementioned, i came here from paldea. i'm a scholar, and also a pokémon ranger that's being stationed here in rustboro. mucho gusto! nice to meet you."

and also intriguing to meet pokémon unlike that of any he'd ever seen before..."those are some interesting friends you have there."

She is used to people bowing before her, a gesture that the Galarians would do when they see her. Hoenn wasn’t like Galar, those people wouldn’t bow to her like she’s their monarch. Elise doesn’t mind that, people weren’t obligated to pay their respects if they didn’t want to.[break][break]

“It’s very nice to meet you, Silverio.” The ambassador gives a little bow of her head to the young man’s introduction. “I did promote to being Rustboro’s ranger captain recently as a way to train on being a leader and to take up administrative duties wth the city’s mayor. I hope that we will be able to work together in spite of my royal status.”[break][break]

He’s curious of the two Pokemon that she had with her and the ambassador would be happy to explain. “Charles and Llamrei are my Calyrex and Spectrier, they are both native to my country. I’m sure that your country might have mythical Pokemon that I can study on too.”

to think that he'd be working with her now? "right, i'll be looking forward to us working together too."

what were the odds? slim to none, one might guess. if one were to speak of royalty in paldea, their pokémon league would almost immediately come to mind. particularly, their own rendition of an elite four and their top champion - beings of whom silverio himself, to this day, has considered himself fortunate to have bested in battle once before. memories of that time instantly washed over him like a tsunami crashing upon the shores of slateport beach.

but alas, that was neither here nor there.

in retrospect, one's status - whether it be as a royal or otherwise - should not dictate how one views another as a person. one of the most valuable life lessons he had learned during his 'treasure hunt' in paldea that may not truly be over yet was knowing when to be humble. modest. traits that could be detected from this woman. and for young silvi to hear that he'd be enlisted under her now? a surprise that he perhaps may not have anticipated otherwise.

intriguing, all the while.

despite the woman presenting her as an aforementioned princess, the paldean meets her with the same beady sapphire irises which loudly express interest in getting acquainted with a colleague, and her pokémon for that matter. "there are legends and myths being told in every region, or so it seems. paldea is no different in that sense. stories of unique pokémon are just a few lessons among the many that are taught there. and who knows? if you're lucky, you may even end up getting a chance to meet one."

"although it pains me to say that, despite having conducted years of research on those native to my homeland, i've yet to encounter one myself. not gonna stop trying, though."
