INSIDE THE CAVE OF ORIGIN, Aurelie Lefevre and Leilani Keawe stand guard over the civilians such as Mitsuru Kagami that have sheltered here. Around them, the TERA CRYSTALS that have smothered the ground, waters, and walls of the cave. However, as KYOGRE approaches crater city, the crystals begin to quake with ominous glowing.[break][break]

An ENTEI appears. Mitsuru Kagami, after witnessing sariel duong and verona santillian, attempts to chase after them. Chaos begins to consume the civilians in the cave as the Tera Crystals activate. As the two rush after the three civilians, they find themselves lost in a labyrinth of fear.

[attr="class","aurelie_body"]Months ago, the magnificent Dyna Tree suddenly grew overnight at the heart of Sootopolis. A Calyrex settled beneath it, requesting stories from its chosen comrades—and eventually, a saddle, shield, and sword from one very startled Rocket blacksmith.

This morning, Aurelie finally delivered all three creations to Calyrex beneath the Dyna Tree. It'd taken many long days and late nights of planning, construction, and testing, but the surge of relief and pride at seeing Calyrex admire the saddle, lift the shield, and swing the sword was almost, almost worth all that effort. How many blacksmiths could say they'd armed a Pokemon king, after all?

An hour ago, she'd just returned to her workshop in Sootopolis, still aglow with pride and satisfaction at a job truly well-done. That glow was abruptly dimmed, though, when she heard the alarms. Something big was happening to Sootopolis, something threatening and dangerous.

And now, here she was inside the Cave of Origin. It seemed a strange place to evacuate, when this was the very place that they said the frenzied Primal Kyogre was trying to reach.

Yet, what choice did they have? Wind and water alike had churned and lashed at their vessels like whips, mercilessly tossing their boat until it nearly stood on end at times amidst towering, foam-capped waves. The Cave of Origin was the closest area that could hold so many people, even if the Tera crystals within glowed ominously as the Kyogre came ever closer.

Arceus preserve us, Aurelie thought, wide-eyed and stunned, how did everything about this day go downhill so damn fast?

Absurdly, she was still wearing her welding safety goggles. Her forging hammer was still looped in her belt, along with a couple knives and her Pokeballs. Sighing and shaking her head, the redhead noticed several civilians who still looked shaken or injured from the harrowing sea journey and released her Leafeon Fleur to help heal and comfort them.

As she bent to gently pat a child's shoulder, Aurelie noticed the Tera crystals near her flicker with a sudden fiery glow. She looked up and gasped at the sight of Entei prowling into the cave, looking both determined and unconcerned by the milling throng inside.

What in Arceus' name? Still staring, Aurelie reached out blindly and tapped the shoulder of the Rocket guard nearest her—a dark-skinned woman with silvery hair she didn't recognize, Leilani Keawe. She pointed, her finger trembling with both wonder and deepening dread.

"Are you seeing what I'm seeing?" she whispered urgently. "Did you know Entei was coming here? Should we...should we stop him?"

Her gaze sharpened as she realized others had not only also noticed the Volcano Pokemon's presence but were following it determinedly, leaving the safety of the cave. "Or should we focus on chasing down those civilians trying to leave the cave to go after Entei?"

Just her luck... The one day she decides to pay a friendly little visit to Sootopolis, and what happens? A whole war breaks out! And of course, OF COURSE, she's stuck in the middle of it! Ugh. This sucked. This sucked! She hated this. A lot!

...She hoped nikkari hect was okay. He... He did live here, right? She definitely remembered him living here...

But! Every cloud had a silver lining, and at least if she had to be stuck anywhere, it was the Cave of Origin. The Shrine of Awakening, they called it, the place where life began. These stony walls were thick with history, deep with lore and rich with mythology. S-she wasn't sure they would make for much of a bunker, mind, but... To finally get the chance to visit them was a once in a lifetime opportunity.

If only she could convince herself to get excited about it. Instead, she was mostly busy curling up into a ball, trying not to worry about the distant booms and rumbles, and staring at nothing in particular as she prayed to Entei that she wouldn't die here--

Entei?

Mitsuru blinked. Then, she blinked again. And again, and again, and again. Yet no matter how many times her eyes fluttered open or shut, the beast remained. It was here? Really here? Then, did that mean that kyle lopez was...?

Her train of thought was derailed as a Pokeball upon her belt, damp and scratched and covered in teeth marks, began to tremble.

"Wait, wait! WaitwaitwaitWAITWAIT--"

And like a tsunami crashing down, her Walking Wake burst forth. And all the Paradox needed was one look at its brother from another time, rushing deeper into the cave, to lose what little restraint it had. And so, it rushed forward.

"No! Stop! Buddy! Slow down! Please? Pretty please?! Stop! SIT! STAY!"

And so, in a frantic attempt to calm her runaway Pokemon, Mitsuru ran after it.

The winds above howled endlessly
Gusts cutting the tension like a knife.
Certain destruction was near.

It wasn't exactly the kind of haiku that she could write, but those three sentences were enough to describe the ongoing climate near Sootopolis. It hadn't been 24 hours since she had broken out of prison in Sinnoh and already, she was being sent to the warscape of Hoenn. Leilani hadn't been one to look a gift Rapidash in the mouth, as it was preferable to rotting in a cage for several decades. She did find the strategy of placing people inside of the Cave of Origin. It was directly in the line of fire, and eventually, somebody was going to do something incredibly stupid and potentially collapse this place. People around them were a bit hurt and in worse for wear. Her eyes paced across each head, every detail of each with critical eyes at the impromptu hospital.

But hey, at least the Tera crystals gave it that nice "tourist trap" vibe.

Clack. Clack. Clack.

Leilani's heels slapped the ground below, as her head swiveled at the sound come from nearby tera crystals. Red, so they meant they related to fire. Lei swiped a pokeball from her belt and prepared to do what she did best (break things) only to watch as the form of none other than ENTEI himself walked into the cave unannounced. "What?" she asked to herself inwardly. Was it the real Entei, or was this an illusion? A hand wiped across both eyes just in case this was some type of oddity, but no. It was still here. Even her partner seemed to mirror her thoughts. "I am. His presence is positively preposterous." Lei's hands fell under her chin as the two watched him. Entei didn't seem like he was there to burn everything, quite the opposite. The people taking shelter here were following it as she ground her teeth together.

"We'll be doing both either way. We find our fantastic beast fleeing the cave and we'll find the others, no doubt." Lei's calm and singsongy voice lacked the confidence about whether they could take an Entei, even if some kind of version of it that could be an illusion. "If our erroneous Entei wishes to eradicate us during its evacuation, we fall back and watch. It's no use turning in information if we're dead."

Leilani called out her Pikachu, the lovely yellow mouse pokemon appearing in record time. It let out a cheerful cry and begin to sniff the ground to track their wily beast. The path took them in the same direction that the others had gone. It was simple now, but then another large series of footprints were coming closer. They were large based on the sheer size and feel of the thuds, but nothing could prepare Leilani for the discovery of another Entei.

Or was this some type of clone? It's head was very clearly not canine-like. It had stopped Entei from going any further at least, and Lei was thankful for it.

"We appear to have company." Leilani rocked her head to the other Entei. "Try and tempt the people towards us."

[attr="class","aurelie_body"]If Aurelie had been startled by the unexpected appearance of the Entei, she was flabbergasted when a Walking Wake suddenly erupted from its Pokeball on the other side of the cave. Yet, even she evidently wasn't as flabbergasted as the Walking Wake's hapless trainer, who ran after it shouting in a Johtonian-accented voice, as it too followed implacably after the Entei.

Hearing her fellow Rocket's clear-eyed assessment of the situation and suggestion, Aurelie nodded in agreement, rather lulled by the poetic rhythm and flow of her speech. "Sounds like a plan."

She beckoned to her Leafeon to follow them as they hurried after the Entei and three civilians deeper into the caverns. "Nice to meet you, by the way! Even if it's not exactly the best circumstances. I'm Aurelie, and..."

Her attempt to ask for the other woman's name trailed off into a shocked silence when she caught sight of the second Entei. She could feel the blood drain from her face in pure shock as she stared at them, open-mouthed. It took Aurelie a few seconds to even remember how to speak again.

"What in Arceus' name? Does Entei have a twin? Or a mate?" she whispered incredulously. "It...it... Right. Yeah. The people."

Again, she had to shake her head to clear it, before tearing her gaze away from the double Enteis to the equally rapt-looking civilians. Aurelie couldn't think of a way to lure over the two people who'd left right away, but the third woman seemed mostly preoccupied with chasing after her runaway Walking Wake. If Aurelie could figure out how to draw its attention, maybe...

"Fleur..." She bent toward her Leafeon. "Can you rush to the Walking Wake and run circles around its feet? Maybe trip it up? Don't get yourself hurt, of course, but try to see if you can make it turn toward you, instead of...well, them."

Arceus, even saying them sent shivers down her spine.

Her Leafeon looked dubiously at Mitsuru Kagami's hulking, determined-looking Walking Wake but nodded resolutely and darted off. Just as she'd instructed her, Fleur began weaving in and out and around and even once, daringly, between the Walking Wake's clawed feet. If it chased after her, hopefully that would at least lead one civilian back.

"Hopefully, we won't have to resort to attacking them or their Pokemon to get them to stop following Entei around," she muttered dryly, glancing sidelong at Leilani Keawe.

Her Walking Wake was many things. Needlessly aggressive, for one, and incredibly stubborn, for another. But while it might've been many things, "easily distracted" wasn't one of them. No, it pursued its not-brother with a singleminded determination, like a well-trained Boltund on the hunt for a fleeing Nickit. Not for lack of trying on the Leafeon's part, but alas, no amount of ducking or weaving or playing chicken with stomping feet would be enough to distract it.

Which was unfortunate, because Mitsuru would've REALLY liked for this chase to be over. Still, she followed her Paradox Pokemon as it followed the Entei that followed... Another Entei? And there were two others following it ahead of her, and two more following from behind her... What was up with the two Entei? How was that possible?? And what where either of them doing here???

Just trying to sort things out made her head hurt, and all this running was doing a number on her back, too. This was a mess. Could it get any more hectic?

Yes, they could, and as draconic energy began to pool in the jaws of her Walking Wake, they quickly would.

"No! Bad! Bad dog! Stop it! STOP IT STOP IT BAD BAD BAD!"

But no amount of heckling could sway the beast. A Dragon Pulse fired forth, trying to clip one of the two Entei and slow them down. Unfortunately, the blast didn't even come close to scraping the hound. That wasn't the reason it was unfortunate, though! No, Entei being unharmed was the silver lining! But, well, there was still a cloud, and that was all the damage to the walls and the ceiling.

"Heck!"

As chunks of rock and stone began to rain down, Mitsuru let out a yelp of stress and doubled her pace, while her Walking Wake thundered on. H-had her Pokemon just desecrated a one-of-a-kind historical site? No! Don't worry about that right now! She'd have plenty of time to worry about it later!

The second Entai would no doubt provide quite the formidable opponent should either of the two try and attack them. By sheer force alone, they stood no chance against the proper legendary, but the other close relative could perhaps offer them a slight chance at walking away from this unscathed. Leilani watched them closely with a great intrigue. Her natural curiosity made her all the more curious about the false Entei and the "maybe a mirage" Entei in particular. Darkened fingers drummed against the earthen wall the two of them saught shelter behind, one finger after the other to an unheard beat. Aurelie's did make her question how another disfigured clone of Entei could come to be. Her hands fell into an L-shape, resting her chin between them in thought.

"Perhaps. These kinds of keen kings are not fond of invaders. Kindred spirits they may be, kinship is not always kept." Lei pointed out while the plan for Aurelie's Leafeon was settled upon. She gazed down at the small eevee-like grass type before her. The other Rocket member beside her appeared to be on good terms with it. Leilani wasn't one to be overly type of any kind of Pokemon type or shape. All of them had their cute perks, although Eevees did always hold a special place in her heart. She just wanted to catch all of them! Aurelie's pokemon was sent away as Leilani observed. "This should serve as slippery stimuli for our two canines." She aimed a smirk at the other woman and watched along.

The Leafon made for a great distraction for the two of them. It darted around the fake Entei's legs while the woman by him seemed to struggle for control of her pokemon. The challenger to the staredown between the Enteis had resulted in the strange looking one causing a ruckus and attempting to attack the Leafon with a move. The resulting effect had caused the cave to shudder, as rocks above them began to litter down upon the both of them. Lei had to cover her head of a few small ones, gritting her teeth as the effort it would take to try and get any loose pebbles out of her gem tipped dreads. "Clearly our friend can't contain her cantankerous companion." she mumbled to herself, still watching from afar. "We may be able to weave her woe into our win. Our enigmatic Entei friend may evacuate the cave entirely, should we egg it on further. What say you?"

Leilani locked her eyes against the woman across from them. Her body language suggesting that perhaps confidence was not a strong suit for her.

[attr="class","aurelie_body"]Seeing that her attempts to distract the Waking Wake had utterly failed, the Leafeon more hesitantly approached the dual Enteis and the two women chasing them. When the grassy Pokemon had to dodge lightning bolts, though, she quickly scampered back to Aurelie for safety.

Aurelie, meanwhile, couldn't believe how calm and eloquent Leilani Keawe sounded in the midst of the mounting chaos and destruction. Perhaps she'd been through too many disasters before to be fazed by a potential cave-in. Meanwhile, Aurelie could hardly hear her over the crash of rocks falling from the ceiling and walls.

"Entei...evacuate?" she echoed uncertainly, raising her voice to be heard over the clatter of crystals and stones. "I don't know if we can! I think they're fighting the other people over there! At least, I see a lot of sparks and energy blasts, and... Look out!"

Staring ahead at the Enteis and the still-relentless Walking Wake, Aurelie noticed a huge stalactite above Mitsuru Kagami's head, trembling like the world's biggest icicle about to fall. With the civilian woman still focused on her Paradox Pokemon, the redhead was seized with sudden fear that the massive spike was about to brain her right in front of their eyes.

Without even consulting her brain, Aurelie's legs started sprinting forward. Not even feeling rocks and pebbles clipping her in the head or shoulders, she hurtled headlong at Mitsuru with her arms out in front, seeking to push her out of the way of the now-descending stalactite.

Unfortunately, the angle from which Aurelie ran toward Mitsuru meant her impulsive lunge carried them both to one side—not into the cave wall or open space like she'd thought. Instead, they both ended up tumbling backward into a narrow side tunnel that Aurelie hadn't noticed at first.

Behind them, the stalactite smashed into the ground into dozens of pebbles with a jarring impact. The two women stumbled into a cluster of shimmering tera crystals.

"I... Ugh... Ouch," Aurelie grunted, pulling back from Mitsuru. "Sorry. Sorry about that. Are you okay? Did you break anything?"

Okay, so: Good news, bad news.

The good news was, she didn't get impaled by a falling stalagmite. Or, was it a stalactite? The point was, she didn't get crushed nor stabbed by a falling rock.

The bad news was, she instead ended up tumbling into a nearby tunnel. After a rather short but painfully long fall, she tripped and stumbled and fell and unceremoniously splatted against an (in)conveniently placed Tera Crystal. Only metaphorically splatted, though! Luckily, it wasn't one of those sharp clusters, because if it had been... Eeesh.

"Ow..."

But even metaphorically splatted was still more splatted than was healthy. Peeling herself off the shimmering shards, Mitsuru immediately flumped to the floor. Despite her best efforts, it seemed her Walking Wake had slipped the leash. She could only hope it didn't cause too much trouble while she was gone. Though, seeing how much trouble it had caused while she was there? Well, she'd need a lot more than hope for that.

But she couldn't worry about that right now, because as it happened, that falling rock hadn't dodged itself.

"Um, thank you, miss." Mitsuru sat up, looking over to Aurelie Lefevre. She didn't know the woman, but there was just something inherently trustworthy about her, wasn't there? Thinking about it, it made perfect sense. After all, with those quick reflexes and selfless instincts, she was probably some kind of police officer or gym trainer. "But really, please don't worry about me! I'm fine. I've gone through much worse than this."

A fact that was as worryingly true as it was worryingly sad.

The other girl appeared to be quite confused by her exact wording, it wasn't something that Leilani had been ignorant of. She groaned, wanting to shout and screech at the top of her lungs about the fate that had befallen her, but alas, such was the price of knowledge. The Alolan gave Aurelie a look with a nod. "Yes. We lay low and let the lively creatures languish in these luxurious crystalline lanterns." Her expression suggested that she was frustrated trying to get to the point with the other Rocket. After that, she sighed and took a moment to clear her thoughts, then speak. "I can explain later. Right now, this." She focused her attention back on the show in front of them. The bumbling heroine in front of them unable to calm her pet down enough would make for the perfect distraction.

Perhaps even too good, as the cave in around them was increasing in intensity. Leilani tried to ensure that nothing was going to crush their skull in at any moment. She had been through worse, though not has potentially hair ruining as having to comb pebbles and crytals at of one's hair for an evening. Back onto more important things, Lei gasped at her partner's decision. "Aurelie!" She ran towards the trainer before them in an attempt to save them from a falling stalactite. While one for heroics, to do so for somebody they had no knowledge of their allegiance was beyond foolish. The rock smashed into the ground just as they dove off to the other side and down an incline leading into parts unknown. "Damn it."

Leilani clenched her teeth before calling down to the other woman. "Are you two alright?" Should she follow them and make sure that the other woman wasn't down there and impaled on one of the crystals down under? Or stay up here and wrangle all the people just roam around? She took a moment to consider her option and then groan. It would be an interesting meeting for sure. "I'm coming down!" Leilani dove down the same pathway leading into the deeper parts of the caverns. The sounds of her descent could be heard up until she came to a skidding stop before the pair. "There you are." Leilani walked over to Aurelie and sighed again, moving her eyes back to their newest friend here.

"Our little tunnel appears to have transported us into a twinkling treasure trove of tera crystals." Leilani walked forward in a quiet observation. The crystals here were dense and many. A finger tapped the exterior as it let out a soft hum. "Such peculiarly potent portions of crystals here."

[attr="class","aurelie_body"]Fortunately, Aurelie was no mind-reader, or she would've instantly burst out laughing at Mitsuru Kagami's generous guess that the redhead was a gym leader or police officer. She would've been less surprised by Leilani Keawe's frustration, considering the latter wasn't the first person—or the last—who thought Aurelie was an idiot who didn't understand simple words.

Though...doesn't "evacuate" mean "remove from the premises"? And she talked about egging on the Enteis to evacuate the cave, Aurelie thought, still confused. Now, she's saying we should let them languish here. Oh well, she said she'd explain later, and...well, we've got bigger issues to deal with.

Like the tera crystals suddenly growing and spreading to monstrous size as if they were suddenly in a fast-forwarded, time-lapsed video, until they blocked the path back to the cave where the three women had come from. They almost seem...alive, Aurelie realized. The thought terrified her.

With no way back, though, the three of them seemingly had no choice but to go forward. While Leilani sighed and tapped the crystals, Aurelie pulled out a flashlight and searched around for another route. The beam of light showed a bend into another tunnel up ahead.

"Hey, ladies, it looks like there's another way out of here," she called, before tilting her head to one side and smiling wryly. "Unless you'd like to stay by the crystal wall and hope someone breaks through it to save us. But I want to check this out.

"Especially since it looks like there's water up ahead," she continued, gazing down the new tunnel again in puzzlement. Thankfully, her Leafeon had kept up with her impulsive, headlong dive. "Fleur, over here, please. I think I hear something moving in there..."

Then, her flashlight shone fully upon the creature she'd heard. Aurelie let out a shocked yell when she saw a huge, glittering Walking Wake stalking right toward her, its feet never sinking through the water. It roared furiously at her, seeming incensed by her mere presence, and launched a HYDRO STEAM at her questing Leafeon.

Aurelie only caught a fleeting glimpse of the island with the tree behind the Walking Wake before she scrambled backward, heart pounding and hands shaking with intense, adrenaline-spiking terror. She pulled out a knife, even as she recognized how futile it was. She looked unhappily at her Leafeon.

"I'm so sorry, Fleur! But can you try a GIGA DRAIN on this thing? I don't...I don't know what to do besides throw your strongest attacks at it..." She winced, thinking about her poor Pokemon battling this ferocious creature. But what else was there to do?

As weird as it was to say, this little side tunnel was surprising calm. At least, compared to the mess happening back in the last cavern, anyway. It gave Mitsuru time to sit up, breathe, and recover from the shock of her sudden fall. She wasn't relaxed, but this? This was as close to relaxing as she'd find here.

Though, if she had known what would happen next, she might've been a little more urgent. As soon as the other guard caught up with them, Tera Crystals shot up like bamboo shoots, shining spears that stabbed into the ceiling and quickly sealed their exit. She wished she could be surprised, but honestly? This seemed about on-par for how her day was going. Maybe even a little better, though not by much. At least the barrier didn't end up impaling her?

But, well, here she was. Stuck in a cave with two (admittedly very nice) strangers. Maybe if she was lucky, they'd get rescued before the hunger started to kick in? Because Mitsuru really didn't like the idea of being eaten. N-not that she thought they were cannibals or anything, mind! It was just, y'know... If they WERE going to eat somebody, it would probably be her, because... Y'know...

...There was another way out?

"Thank HECK!" Mitsuru jumped to her feet, making it about halfway to standing before having to awkwardly struggle and scrabble up the wall to her full height. Yet even that inelegant display wasn't able to wake the wind out of her sails! "Let's hurry and get out of here, girls!"

Yep. That was them. The ladies. The girls. The "sisters". They were like Destiny's Child, or TLC, or the female half of the cast of F.R.I.E.N.D.S! Together, they were unstoppable! And together, they'd--

--All of a sudden, an unpleasantly wet yet undeniably familiar growl rang out in the dark.

"AAAAaaaahem. Ahem... Ah, em, hello?"

As the flashlight shone upon the blue scales and piercing eyes, she couldn't help but flinch. But while Aurelie made a wise retreat, Mitsuru managed to suppress that instinct and stand her ground.

"Walking Wake? I-is that you?"

Sure enough, it was a Walking Wake. Yet, as it drew closer, the murk that surrounded it was dispelled by a too-bright glow, and bared fangs made it evidently obvious that it was not her Walking Wake. That was to say, she was currently standing only a few feet away from a wild beast that likely intended to kill and eat her.

...

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!"

OH NO OH NO NO NO NO NO QUICK QUICK SEND OUT A POKEMON NOW NOW NOW NOW NOW NOW NOW!

And she did. As sheer terror and pure adrenaline both coursed through her, she grabbed the first Pokeball on her belt and tossed it forth. Immediately, her Gargancl burst forth, an unflinching fighter willing to stand between her and her foe. Yes. YES! This was perfect! Seimei would be able to beat this Walking Wake back, and she'd be--

SPLASH!

Unfortunately, Garganacl were very large, very heavy, and could not walk on water. No sooner than she sent forth her Pokemon did it immediately sink into the water like a stone. Now, there was nothing between predator and prey. She was completely defenceless.

...

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!"

Her head canted over all the way towards where Aurelie had been shining the flashlight to. In this cavernous area, a dark turn would lead them further into the caverns of this palace of earth and stone. Leilani turned back around to see the crystals were...growing?! She took a step back and followed the group towards safety, where some amount of refuge could be heard. "Good eye." She summarized quickly and hurried with the other to towards their exit point. Hopefully this led to an exit or something!

But no, that would have been so easy for the three of them. Instead, this path led them to a water laden area. One which was guarded with a Walking Wake. However, it didn't sink into the water like many would have assumed it would. Its feet kept it above the surface as it let out a threatening roar at them. "Well, we've trespassed towards facing a terrible, timeless tempest, haven't we?" Leilani looked down at her team, deciding which could have helped them the most in the situation. The other two had chosen their pokemon, with the unknown woman from before sending out a rock-type...in a room filled with water.

The obvious thing happened and Lei cast her a judgemental gaze. "Just leave it to us." Her lips trembled, cut short before they would flow again beyond her control. Quietly thanking whatever part of her biology that had prevented from rambling, Leilani threw out her Pokemon of choice, a Pikachu. The yellow mouse gazed up at the Walking Wake as it would come charging at them. "Thunderbolt." Its cheeks crackled with electricity while the pokemon launched an electric attack at the quickly approaching Pokemon.

[attr="class","aurelie_body"]While Mitsuru Kagami's panicked reaction and choice of Pokemon both made perfect sense to the equally fear-stricken Aurelie, the massive splash of the Garganacl promptly falling straight down into the water made her smack her palm against her forehead with dismay. Two feet back, and it'd be up here next to Fleur to help! she lamented, looking at her Leafeon.

Much like her, the small verdant Pokemon visibly quivered even as she tried to stand her ground. From the way the Walking Wake bellowed with rage, the GIGA DRAIN had hurt somewhat. But far from being slowed down, it seemed galvanized—and worse, vindictive.

Even more unfortunately, with her Pokemon sinking into the water, the civilian woman stood all alone in front of the Walking Wake. Aurelie racked her brain desperately for a solution. Part of her wondered why, when it wasn't as if she even knew the woman. She didn't even know her name!

But she didn't want to see her die, either. She had enough reasons to wake screaming from nightmares, and no desire to add witnessing this woman getting impaled by a stalactite or killed by the Walking Wake to the list.

Thankfully, Leilani Keawe rushed up in time to attack the Walking Wake before it assaulted the hapless civilian woman, her unshakably calm demeanor so infallible and faultless that she never hesitated for even a split second. Aurelie envied that about her, considering how she herself had reacted to seeing the wild Walking Wake.

"Nice work! What quick thinking!" she exclaimed, almost breaking into applause. "Cute wordplay too."

During the distraction afforded by Leilani's Pikachu, Aurelie reached forward blindly, grabbed hold of what turned out to be Mitsuru's sleeve, and yanked her to one side. "Come on, we gotta run! Maybe we can get behind it! Try to flank it or ambush it or something!"

Suiting actions to words, Aurelie dashed wetly to the left, splattering water with every hurried stride. With an agility she hadn't expected from something so bulky, though, the Walking Wake swung around to focus on their new location and keep both the Pikachu and fleeing women in sight. It opened its jaws to fire a blast toward them, and Aurelie's heart sank.

"Fleur, quick! Try GIGA DRAIN!" she cried out, just as the Walking Wake unleashed a blazing FLAMETHROWER at her Leafeon. The two attacks happened almost simultaneously, the two blasts flying right past each other.

The soft gasp of the Leafeon being knocked out by the FLAMETHROWER was drowned out by Aurelie's horrified howl and the Walking Wake's outraged bellow. It too appeared to be reeling from the many combined attacks. And under the water's surface, the dark, hulking shape of the Garganacl drew slowly closer, thankfully, though Aurelie didn't notice at all as she grieved her Pokemon's knockout.
