Following the directive to fortify their expansive grid of tera-tunnels linking to a network of bunkers, Julian toils in silence alongside his pokemon. That older brother of his is present as well, though due to their last conversation... Jules is reluctant to strike up conversation.

It was a common factor between everyone who'd ever been involved with him, especially their family. Even partly why Julian decided to leave, as he was running out of faces who didn't immediately reflect the contempt within.

He decided to hit the larger and more strenuous of the two workloads, installing steel beams and other fabricated pieces to ensure their structures didn't so much as budge. Well, that's what everyone was saying anyway.

With the amount of materials and reinforcing, Jules was beginning to see why they believed that. Somehow everytime he returned to the pile for more, it seemed to have grown bigger. Stacked higher. "Fuck me, man..."

You recognize that nothing is more crucial than strengthening Rocket's defenses. Striding purposefully towards the construction crew, you seize the steel beams, either with your own hands or the aid of your Pokémon. [break][break]

Together, you reinforce the inner walls of the tunnels, enhancing their structural integrity. Once complete, nothing will be able to breach them — not the League, nor any other entity that dares to breach Rocket's inner heart. [break][break]

However, no matter how tireless you and your Pokémon labor away, the pile of steel beams are a pit of despair. They are endless. The realization soon dawns that it's not due to the workload itself but because you are the only one working! Glancing up, you spot a group of other Rockets goofing off - engaging in idle chitchat, lounging around, or just being plain difficult. [break][break]

It takes everything not to at least give the lazy fucks some lip, but unlike them and Adrian, the young brother hasn't put in the time. He's green as grass, and complaining will only bring trouble—Which the older sibling seems adamant on avoiding.

Working to pick up their slack, Julian's pokemon at least has a knack for displacing it's frustrations. The work helps it vent, and so it alleviates the workload with haste. Julian smirks as he notices one of them staring at his pokemon and the quick work it made of the pile.

It wasn't how he wished for them to stand out, but yes—The few pokemon Jules did train were strong, and boasted a plethora of experience. Whether it was lifting stolen goods, backstreet battles or what have you, they were more than up to the task.

Jules was just hoping for a little more camraderie, but at least he had Adrian, whom he eventually says something to. "So when are you gonna introduce me to some of the people you know here?" With all the time spent here without family, his brother had to of made some connections...right?

Adrian thinks of Rowan and Howard... and the list stops there. Once upon a time, Martin would've been a keen candidate. And outside of the organization, Derek had always been a friend. But the rest of his friends—they weren't 'friends' anymore. Not after what he'd done.[break][break]

"Maybe you could make some new friends." Julian has an advantage that Adrian doesn't—he's basically a nobody. Which means he could walk Hoenn's streets a free man...[break][break]

There's a ruckus that promises trouble, and Adrian and company are presented with a unique threat to their infrastructure: A gang of Excadrill arrive on scene, promising to wreak havoc. You can almost forgive them for wanting to protect their territory from foreigners...[break][break]

But Adrian had no tolerance for setbacks.[break][break]

"Raj, let's go." It's a subtle shift of his wrist, and a keystone shines alight, resonating with Copperajah's own. The transformation takes hold, and the creature sports a towering stature, and a greater reserve of infinity energy to tap into. Adrian is quick to bark out commands—following up on Julian's attack without missing a beat.[break][break]

"PUSH BACK; WHIRLWIND!"[break][break]

The pokemon cannot advance against the strong gales, and resort to boring underground. They begin tunneling towards him and Copperajah violently, breaking up the ground below.[break][break]

"JUMP AND HEAVY SLAM!"[break][break]

The impact tremor was like an earthquake rumbling through the earth, causing great displeasure for the boring vermin, such that he did not see them rear their ugly heads thereafter.[break][break]

There's no time to call for help. The crack widens rapidly as the team of Excadrill burrow through the metal barriers you've improperly installed. [break][break]

Avoiding drawing attention to your mistake, you decide to handle it alone, releasing your Pokémon to fend off the attack. [break][break]

But you're outnumbered, and the Pokémon continue to break through. Cracks multiply, and soon, the crystalline wall crumbles, leaving a gaping hole. [break][break]

"Hey! What the —" [break][break]

Turning a corner, one of your bosses catches sight of your error. A sharp command brings more Rockets to assist, but it's too late. You face consequences for your misjudgment and receive a stern reminder to seek help when necessary. [break][break]

Reprimanded while the extras are rallied by what might as well be their ringleader, Julian looks to them with a sneer as he answers. "Tch. Sure thing, boss." Had everyone been doing their job in the first place, or even have paid attention to it like him and Adrian... This wouldn't have happened.

When he and his brother finally linger out of earshot, words can finally be spilled. "The fuck kinda shit is that? None of them do anything the whole time, and yet we're the ones being scolded? Whatever—"

The only lesson here is don't do anything, so at the very least you did nothing "wrong". Obviously more than a little irritated with it all, Jules retrieves his Annihilape into it's ball and picks up his pace toward the exit.

"Guess i'm gonna go try and make some of those new friends you mentioned." All he could hope for was that they were better than all the jackasses working in this tunnel. "Text me when you got something else for me to do. Peace."
