"If you say so." Julian has no preference to start with, believing whichever they faced would ultimately beat them. As much as he trained his pokemon, there wasn't anything special about them other than the fact they were his. "Do your thing, Drapion."

Whenever the battle would start, their relentless pursuit would begin. As with a hundred battles before this, Julian and his Drapion's routine remained the same. Predictable as it was, the aggression worked in those other instances.

Fiorelli called for the match to begin, immediately flooding their arena with noxious gas. Furor recoiled, but Drapion was able to rush headlong—immune to the fumes roiling from the Wo-Chien's body. But as its attack struck its mossy hide... It looked to have done nothing.[break][break]

Gyarados began lumering through the mists, head towering high enough to avoid breathing in the fumes—but its scales were stepped in the miasma, revealing bruise-like blotches that slowly crept along its body. Even so, its tail swathed forward once it approached, lashed out at the beast and its tablets. Yet it didn't budge...[break][break]

Taking note of how Elisabeth's pokemon seemingly shrugs off the heavy duty combo, Jules doesn't allow his pokemon to continue aimlessly. And thankfully, due to it's type, his Drapion was able to linger closeby despite being within the proxmity of the poisonous gas.

Wisps of flame lick at the edge of its lips as its maw becomes engulfed in flames, unleashing a fireball at the Wo-Chien. Oh, c'mon! Julian draws internally as the spiky shield hinders their offensive. What happens next, well... It comes as a bit of a surprise.

"Flamethrower?!" The sight of his Gyarados, a water type, spewing fire is a little bizarre. Not that he'd never heard of it. Jules just didn't think such pokemon would benefit from it, at least out in the wild.

But right now it seems to be their lucky break, exaggerating the amount of time Wo-Chien took to shift from defense into an attack. "Capitalize with your X-scissor."

Already closeby despite the gas, his Drapion would rear it's pronged tail in order to strike—pseudo scissors snipping for the foliage of it's body, keen on causing some kind of damage.
