And yet here she is, standing before Rustboro’s Ranger Captain with a nervous smile on her lips, unsure whether she feels welcomed or only daunted. This woman carries herself with perfect composure to boot, a sort of bearing that Blossom can't hope to match, though she stands up straight and sets her chin anyway. It seems the proper thing to do in the presence of such a refined lady. [break][break] “Y-Yes, ma’am,” she answers with a brief nod, feeling the sudden impulse to stand at attention. That would be too much, no doubt, but all the same... A Ranger Captain is probably the most important person she’s ever met. Oh, there’s the mayor of Dendemille, but her hometown is so small that it doesn't count. “It’s a pleasure to meet you, Madam Elise and Mana. My name is Blossom Delier, and this —” she gestures to the Deerling hiding behind her leg, uncharacteristically shy, “— is Darjeeling.” [break][break] As her new mentor goes on, though, Blossom feels the world turning upside down. She was intimidated enough by a Ranger Captain, but Elise Calcifet is a — a princess?! Her jaw drops as heat rises to her face, and it takes all her composure just to shut it again. [break][break] “E-Even if you say that, ma’am, I — I’ve never met anyone so distinguished… A Ranger Captain training someone like me was already an honor, but this...” Her rural Kalosian accent is thicker than before, and amidst the haze it occurs to her that it must be nigh incomprehensible to Elise. She rubs her cheeks, breathes in and conceals it again. “Sorry, I was just so surprised — no wonder you’re so elegant...
