When the Petalburg-Sootopolis war ended, many people had shaken faith in the League. Petalburg’s fall gave her that reminder of so many people from the captured city that were displaced, some were civilians. Even if the League had corrupt individuals, this was no reason why she can’t place her trust in the League and its government. [break][break]

For the sake of keeping the alliance her country had with the League government, Elise thinks it’s important that she keep her faith and loyalty to it. Her cousin had done the same even when people had no reason to trust him because he was a former Rocket.[break][break]

Her Mismagius floats by her side when she’ll make her round in Route 102. Elise does get a sense of discomfort from being in a route that’s close to Petalburg, but she has to do this for her fellow Ranger Captain friend. Shalin’s capture by Rocket proved to be a scary thing, the Galarian ambassador doesn’t want to make Remiel worry about her again.

"Elise," waves the black-jacketed man atop his own truckbed, pulling his shades down to give a toothy grin. To someone like Wyatt, a humble deliveryman with too pretty of a face, this fit him just fine.[break][break]

"Whatcha doin' here?" he asks her, and her Mismagius, as from his truckbed, the shining eyes of his little rabbit, Pele. She was excitable, a little too much. "You know the roads dangerous, right?"[break][break]

Women got their own agency. But it doesn't mean he worries any less. Man or women, he'd worry the same.

From the top of the delivery truck’s bed, the familiar man greets the Galarian royal with a grin and putting down his shades. A rabbit Pokemon that she’s familiar with is with him too, excitable as the Scorbunny can be. “Wyatt, I see that you are making the deliveries on this road. It’s a bit close to where Petalburg is which is a Rocket owned territory.”[break][break]

Why was he doing there in a road that could have Rockets assaulting a guy like him too? She’d probably worry for his safety as much as the man worried for hers.[break][break]

“I know the roads are dangerous.” She knew that as her elder cousin worried daily that the ambassador had thrown herself into the conflict because of her duty to protect her people, Galarian civilians that were forced to flee to Oldale from Petalburg. The ambassador speaks to Wyatt like she's resolute in seeing her job through. “But you needn’t worry for me because I have to protect my people from Rocket, it’s my position as their princess.”[break][break]

When she feels her friend’s Dive Ball wriggle, her Calyrex shard comes out on his own. Rocket probably didn’t have an interest in kidnapping her again, but they sure wanted to have the other king of the pair, the League’s Calyrex.[break][break]

“Please go back to your Pokeball, Charles.” The Galarian ambassador warns her shard gently though the hare king doesn’t appear to budge on that matter. In a way, the shard wanted to help the people he formerly ruled over like Elise is doing now. “I’m sorry, my friend here really worries me on his safety. I suppose he also wishes to help my people.”

Wyatt already knew. Begs to reason, why she felt the need as a princess. In a way, it's admirable to see the king piece move in a chess game first, to protect even the pawns. But...[break][break]

"You're far from home, princess." He reiterates. The Hoenn people weren't necessarily her people, so it stands to reason she had no obligation to them. She didn't need to protect, no call to action like the Galar royalty game of thrones. Still, even with this in mind, he looks to the newcomer. The Calyrex.[break][break]

"Charles has the right idea," he leans down, lets Pele set on his shoulder, as he gives her another look. "Protection keeps everyone safe. Even the heaviest of Rocket need protection. That's why Admins exist, yeah? Keeps the big wig on the throne." He frowns. That cesspool of political hell he wouldn't wish on anyone. "The League can handle it."[break][break]

Hoenn’s people were not hers nor would she normally have an obligation for them. That was the League’s council and the Commissioner to have their job of protecting the Hoennian people from Rocket. The man does give a good point, she’s far from her home land…much like Remiel who should be taking the throne.[break][break]

Yet Remiel stays in Hoenn. He’s not going back to appease his mother and take his place after her.[break][break]

“Mr. Rodgers.” Her Queen’s English accent is very clear for him to hear when she gets a bit upset over how he might think she should go back home to her country. “I am the ambassador here. You may think that I should be going back to Galar, but I cannot go back. Not when I fight for the Galarian immigrants here and those that are back home.”[break][break]

if anti-League sentiments were to go by, she’s concerned for the Council’s attempts at keeping their people safe.[break][break]

“Well, I would like to believe that, given that the current alliance my country has with the League hinges on it.” Like a stubborn Mudbray, the ambassador heavily relies on being allied with the League to give hope for her people. “The League has swords, people who can fight. I’ve…known that my cousin is more suited to fighting than I would.”[break][break]

Her Calyrex shard, meanwhile, looks at the Scorbunny that got a closer look at him. The hare is curious, maybe he's never seen a Scorbunny before. The Mismagius stays by her trainer's side, watching for anyone that may interrupt that conversation.

Ambassador or not, this conflict wasn't her problem. Immigrants, sure. The entirety of Galar was cloak and dagger, and getting out was saving lives. But to Hoenn? This time of year, at this junction? If they were here, they would probably get hit in the crossfire.[break][break]

Hypocritical as it was, Wyatt believed himself capable of making a light difference. His being was a lightningrod for those Rocket bastards to attract to. So let them.[break][break]

"Quite admirable, ambassador. Let me be clear; Rocket is more like a missile. And they're building to that nuke," he pushes his shades up onto his face, and leans back into his truck. Pele would wave to the Calyrex, hopping on Wyatt's shoulder, the older man not realizing that the bunny was hopping like an excited Bunnelby. "If you're still in blast range, it doesn't matter if you're an immigrant or not."[break][break]

"Dead is dead. And the only thing the dead do is hold in your memory." Speaking from experience. He wallows in it for a moment, but he smirks, petting Pele little by little.[break][break]

"I admire that bravery and willingness to help."

She has seen that happen before at the war in Petalburg. Rocket doesn’t care much for who they hurt as long as they can claim the city for their own. That memory of seeing those people trapped in the air raided tents when she escaped with her guard leaves her in a position to feel guilty. Some of the dead were her people, immigrants that made their new home in Petalburg.[break][break]

“I…greatly appreciate that you admire my bravery and willingness to help. That’s what I want to do when I took up my cousin’s post.” The Galarian diplomat spoke while the Calyrex shard gives a wave to the female Scorbunny, Pele’s a fellow rabbit in arms. “My reason for fighting Rocket here despite what you’ve said that I have no business here in Hoenn… They were responsible in razing the hometown I was born and raised in. My late mother was born there in Ecruteak too and I can never forget the screams of those who died in the attack.”[break][break]

She’d remember that the gym leaders had done their best to repel Rocket out of invading their cities and towns. Ultimately, the region’s legendary beasts gave their lives to protect the region and Rocket’s attempt was thwarted. [break][break]

“It’s personal for me.” Elise knows that she’ll worry her cousin, but he was fighting too in this current war situation. “And I don’t want to be powerless again to stop Rocket when I was younger then. Alas, I'm...not strong enough to fight one of their strongest members in spite of having Charles here.”

Personal? So her home was burned by Rocket? "Another tale of another soul, hurt by the jet-fumes of Rocket." He's so tired of hearing about it. Like a record scratch at the club, and the DJ took some sick glee in scratching it up.[break][break]

Kanto was a rough time period, and one he doesn't quite want to reminisce on. His family, his home, after what Rocket did, it brought him here. A sky filled in ash, a home burnt to the ground in Vermillion, and a child soldier forced into the fold. He resented it, he did.[break][break]

"I get it," he knows all too well that struggle. The fight that needs to happen. "-Rocket takes and takes. And kids like you and I are the ones who suffer." He lets Pele hop towards Charles, moving towards his head, and intending to enjoy an older sibling like this. In their species-kind, anyways, two birds of a feather. Wyatt reels back.[break][break]

"They took my home too." A bonding moment, and discards the shades. His one eye shown. "So I get it."

For what she had divulged in a moment of solemnity, she gets the same from Wyatt too. Hoenn was now becoming a battleground with the threat of war again, even after the Petalburg-Sootopolis War. As long as Rocket was around, they would try and take the other League owned cities and towns. Sootopolis was a neutral territory, so Elise wouldn’t count it as League owned.[break][break]

“I did not know they’ve taken your home too.” The ambassador replies with a little frown. Her Calyrex lets the female Scorbunny move towards his head where they were both species of their kind, only that the hare king is a little child or baby compared to the Scorbunny. Being born from the League’s Calyrex made the hare king child-like in comparison to his serious-minded princess.[break][break]

“I hope that we can both fight Rocket when a major war breaks out again.”[break][break]

Ears from the Calyrex hear the sound of a twig snapping from the other direction. Elise turns in seeing a red headed woman clad in black uniform. An R is seen on the chest which told the ambassador that this was a Rocket though she doesn’t think they are high up in their hierachy.[break][break]

Just a grunt that they had sent out to try and secure the road to Oldale Town.[break][break]

“Well, if it isn’t the traitorous prince’s cousin. You’ll pay for his betrayal.” The female Rocket grunt spits her venomous words as she sends out her Toxicroak and Salandit.[break][break]

It was another Rocket grunt that would hurt the Galarian princess just because she was related to the Rocket traitor. The shard of Calyrex snarls at the two Pokemon by the Rocket grunt’s side.[break][break]

“I don’t recall that your orders from your bosses would be to hurt me.” The princess becomes cold as the Crown Tundra’s snow when she replies to the grunt. “Or perhaps I can show you that you do not threaten the royal ambassador and princess of her country.”

Wyatt wants to at least answer that, in an almost snarky, condescending kinda way. To bark back, 'oh no, they gave me everything', with all the sarcasm of someone scorned by Rocket's malice. But he doesn't. He lets it sit, but the scowl only grew.[break][break]

"Yeah, well. Doesn't fuck'n matter anyways." He throws off his jacket, because he had kept an ear to the ground. He heard that twig snap, and in paranoia, gotten himself ready, Pele having followed in suit, bouncing in front of Wyatt, her scowl matching her Trainer's.[break][break]

"I'm in a pretty bad mood, lady," his one visible eye peering out from his bangs, his undershirt a black tank-top with a pair of dogtags sitting around his neck.[break][break]

When the Salandit rushes towards Pele, attempting to strike with a POISON FANG, Pele immediately throws out the COUNTER, bit, but kicked in the stomach and tossed over herself, the bunny spinning around without as much as a wound.[break][break]

"So get out of here, before I get you intimately acquainted with the ground."

“You don’t scare me.” The Rocket grunt sneers when she gets addressed by Wyatt himself. [break][break]

Confidence would be the Rocket’s downfall while her Toxcroak does battle with the ambassador’s Calyrex shard. With the same typing as the strange upright dog-like warden from the penitentiary, Elise is sure that her Calyrex can go toe to toe with a Pokemon like the grunt’s.[break][break]

Psychic comes from the glowing hare king and the attack creates a mini blast that hits the Toxicroak for su[break][break]per effective damage. Charles’ move has the Toxicroak reel back from the attack as if it felt that one on its body.

The hare king gets hit by the Toxicroak’s Poison Jab though the king doesn’t give in easily to an effective attack too.[break][break]

At the grunt’s other Pokemon, the Salandit gets a Poison Fang onto her body and a Counter that meets with her claws Scratching at the bunny Pokemon. It gets a kick in the stomach when it had gotten close and it growls from the pain.[break][break]

“Are you scared now?” The royal ambassador coldly spoke when she sees the little fear on the grunt’s face over how much power the Calyrex shard puts in. “You should give up when you can.”

Respecting agency aside, the Rocket grunt would act out. And Wyatt walks, a quiet march forward, as his fingers tighten to a fist, and his face scowls as he gets closer. This may be a Pokemon Battle, but Rocket street rules did not dissuade from his death march forth, and even if she was afraid, Wyatt was far faster.[break][break]

As Pele took the SCRATCHes like a champ, a LIBERO change to Fighting Type letting her tank it with ease.[break][break]

"Hop." Pele grips the Salandit, and utilizes BOUNCE, to force the Salandit into a very, uncomfortable piledriver, as Wyatt made the quickest step forward. Elise may have mercy, but his bad mood would not allow his own. In a rage, he comes in with a haymaker to the Rocket, then a hook, then another. To her face, to her stomach, even her boob.[break][break]

With a kick to the side to knock her off balance, he spits to the side, and gives her the glare. "It's by this princess that I don't end you. But I don't share her sentimentality." He steps on her knee, stomping downwards to twist it backwards, a showing of brutality that Rocket would have afforded them.[break][break]

"Beg. And maybe I'll listen."

- Wyatt does some heavy damage to the grunt, and kicks her knee in. Lets his ego take full control, and tells her to beg for mercy.
