The bevy of fire-type attacks mopped up the Okidogi's toxic-chained Pokémon, though their boss had fled. Whether it was due to Uxie's presence, the now-fallen Raikou's, or the other Pokémon the two Gym Leaders wielded, they had fought valiantly enough for the member of the Lousy Three to turn tail. Uxie's MYSTICAL POWER shattered the Toxic Chains, now that the Pokémon weren't within their puppeteer's range.

Josh breathed a deep sigh of relief once it was all over. "Couldn't have done it without you," the Champion gave the young Gym Leader a pat on the shoulder if he allowed it. "Next time, we'll capture it and it'll stay behind bars. Bet it won't feel too good when it's the one rotting in a cell and not us!" Josh half-joked, though it may have been no laughing matter. The scars from when Okidogi whipped him with its Toxic Chain was still there. Procuring two empty Poké Balls, Josh captured the Claydol and Lilligant that were under the Okidogi's influence. "We should get these back to Science for study. Might help them understand more about the chains," he suggested, stowing them and patting the Walking Wake's side. The water-type crouched, letting Josh hop on. "Let's get back to Littleroot. Do you have an opening at your Gym in the next couple months? I've pondered issuing a re-challenge."
