Steel and stone smash Nihilego’s barriers. It screams a high-pitched scream until the very last barrier breaks. When it shatters, the Nihilego shrinks and knows death. Its corpse glows with ethereal light, floating up through empty air as if carried on a wave. Poison covers the ground all around them, making the terrain treacherous indeed.[break][break]
Afforded a moment to rest, Navy slumps to the ground, looking at the rest of them. He blinks and sees red. Blinks again and the world is right. Voices whisper venom into his thoughts, as they always do when he dives into this sea.[break][break]

Her eyes survey the darkness, standing vigil while these modern men complete their task.

kyle gives an awkward smile and a thumbs up back while his eyes are busy staring at terrakion after its grand entrance.

terrakion receives the same look of awe kyle had given zacian. familiarity was lost with the incident as the beast will inevitably pick up on. any reaction he will receive will not be reminiscent of the same identity it has met at the border.

"do you have a cool guy that i should be looking out for too?" he questions noah after navy and eddie have shown off their loyal companions.

as much as he tries to keep the situation light with his shameless retorts, worry had already built up from the start even if the air around them didn't induce such thoughts.

kyle rummages through a bag that cling on his back.

"did you even prepare for the trip or do you just wing it every time?" he berates navy the same way his brother berates kyle when he purposely does something wrong in front of him.

ever so cautious and uncertain about things, kyle tries to the best of what he can to prepare. oftentimes, they weren't enough. "i got those antidotes they used back when there's the alien war thing, but if regular healing works, then..."

he dangles a bottle from his bag between his fingers before looking at noah and eddie. he'd rather save it if they have other solutions to keep the option open if they need it later.

the remoraid finally squirms free from kyle's grasps, able to swim freely in the special environment of ultra sea. it continues to spew acid spray to where the nihilego once was, before its trainer directs it to use it on the walls and floors instead.

Triumph comes easy for the dream team. Eddie would've whooped for joy were the sight of the Nihilego's body floating towards its final rest not so unsettling. Terrakion certainly didn't spare much thought to their victory – not when more of the dead angel's kin were lurking somewhere unseen. The Sword's plodding footsteps circled the group, keeping an arms-length away from a man whose memory he mourned, [break][break]

“Geeze, yer all gonna make me blush,” Eddie laughed, dismissive and sheepish, at noah faber and Navy both. [break][break]

The recognition felt strange and unearned, but thankfully, there were more pressing things to distract himself with, like the Nihilego's blood that swam in fetid, toxic puddles. Eubert, Toedscool janitor extraordinaire, returned to his post to sop up the poison with a thick wave of clay and MUD(-slap). [break][break]

While his Pokemon worked, Eddie eyed the proffered bottle curiously, [break][break]

“Good thinkin'!” he enthusiastically offered to kyle lopez. [break][break]

The more time he spent in the not-ghost's presence, the less unsettled he became. And hey, maybe the kid wasn't as lackadaisical as Eddie had originally figured him for – he had certainly put more thought into this venture than the soldier had. The Stalwart looked between the former Champ and his (former?) spouse, [break][break]

“I, uh, think I got a buddy that can pitch in too, if ya'll need it. He's no Chansey or nothin', but he can patch folks up in a pinch.”

“Gimme that.” He speaks with frankness reserved for his friend’s ghost, snatching up the antidote. A thorough spray across the infected area affords him the luxury of breathing easy. Heavy air fills his lungs, making him cough. There’s nowhere in all the world he hates more than this sea, yet it is here he is dutybound to fight.[break][break]
“Thanks.” Only after the intrusive thoughts of slaughter and a warrior’s paradise subside does he say the word, smiling weakly at Kyle. They’re not far from a ship that got itself wrecked down here. It’s nowhere near as big as the Questor Lucis, just a scout vessel, but it is pierced deep into the ground.[break][break]
“Always wondered what’s under there. Cyan, you mind?”[break][break]
As it turns out, the answer is yes. Zacian steps across the poison with delicate steps, navigating over to Noah. She tips her head low, rubbing it against him in a gesture of warm sympathy. She knows loss, knows it very well. Putting on such a brave face when faced with his husband’s ghost earns him her respect.[break][break]
“Guess not.” Grumbling, the warrior reaches into his pack and searches for another pokeball. Finally, he comes out holding a great ball. Tepig is pulled back, unlikely to play a greater role in this tale.[break][break]
“Little Shuwen, you’re up.” Little Shuwen, who doubtless will be given another, cooler name like Patroclus, jumps from his ball and looks to the wreck. “That’s right. Show us how your training’s comin’ along.”[break][break]
The Kubfu huffs, falling into a battle stance, trying to fight the right angle, focusing…[break][break]
His punch, though unassuming at first, sends a massive crack running through the ship from top to bottom. It’s an excellent start, all delivered in a small package.

from his bag comes a compressed duffel bag.

now that things have settled and navy has found his footing from the early hurdle of being poisoned, kyle is ready to loot. an opportunist by nature, he sees the same target as navy.

the smile turns upside down when he realizes they don't share the same vision.

"oi, oi, oi. shouldn't we be careful when handling things like-" his words are cut off when he sees the aftermath.

a hand scratches the back of his head heavy. rather than voice his thoughts out, he turns to eddie. "is that insurance? you can back navy up if he does something-" he turns to the attempt of destruction. "-i don't have anything for, right?"

he follows after the elite four before he gets a response, waving as he briskly walks over the carnage forming. if any accidents happen from this action, navy and eddie would most likely be able to take care of it, and he's willing to gamble that noah will make his safety a priority should worse comes to worst.

with a pokeball out, he shifts his mindset.

"the ground's getting weird. i'd rather not stay for too long." he releases an electivire, one that he got after his regression as opposed to before. "if we're looting this ship by blowing it up, then i'm in."

the electivire joins in, gate crashing with a giga impact that sends pieces of the hull all over the place.

Insurance, huh? That was one way to put it, [break][break]

“Uh, yeah! I got yer backs!” he called after kyle lopez. [break][break]

Terrakion wasn't far behind the procession, trotting along after his former charge, even if he still kept some measure of distance. Eddie supposed that was his cue to join them; Eubert was returned to his Pokeball for his union-mandated break, and his owner sauntered over to the ship that was well on its way to becoming ancient history. [break][break]

Funny, that despite being in the weirdest place in Hoenn, Eddie was tasked with an almost alarmingly familiar job, [break][break]

“Easy there, ya amateurs!” he called teasingly, even as a piece of scrap whizzed past his head. Terrakion snorted as he effortlessly knocked another flying hunk of metal far and away from the party of delinquent demolitioners, [break][break]

“You fellas act like ya ain't ever torn down a buildin' before; you gotta be a helluva lot more precise than that!” [break][break]

No disrespect to Navy and another of Shuwen's brood, or to Kyle and his Electivire, but there was a right way and a wrong way to do this. Granted, the 'right way' usually involved a lot of PPE and a foreman yelling at you every ten or so minutes to pick up the pace, but that didn't mean they couldn't improvise. [break][break]
