Lars was so distracted watching the people dance, he very nearly missed sight of a head of familiar long dark hair but paid it no mind as he looked into his mug of hot chocolate.
Deciding to drain the rest of the contents in one go, he doesn’t notice that his free arm (the one that’s not holding the mug, okay) is slowly being trapped by his companion. Only when his mind registers that Evan is surprisingly too close to his frame does he realize the circulation in his other arm has been all but cut off.
And this causes his ears to catch fire.
Seeing that his mug of hot chocolate is empty, he sighs, and waits for another passing waiter to nab another one. Exchanging the empty mug for a full one, he continues to take sips, letting the warm liquid heat him up from the inside out. While he’s preoccupied with trying to keep Evan as warm as he could by sharing body heat, his attention wanders—at least until he thought he heard someone shouting something about an avalanche.
Looking up from his mug of hot chocolate, he noticed the windows engulfed in white, before the place erupts into a flurry of activity, people scrambling to dig here and there. He then notices that Evan is maybe shivering a little more than what’s normal, and with great difficulty he extracts himself from the other’s hold.
“Wait here,” he said, gesturing for Evan to stay as close to the fireplace as possible. Draining the mug as he cut through the crowd of people, he eventually made his way back to where the coat check area is and retrieved his overcoat. Yes, even if he came in a proper suit and tie he still wore the overcoat—which was ironically
very handy given the sudden weather shift.
Returning to where he had left Evan, he shakes the overcoat a few times, before draping it around the other man’s shoulders.
“No, I am not taking any form of protest for an answer,” he began, willing his ears to stop setting themselves on fire.
“Stay there, close to the fire. Cold temperatures and metal don’t exactly go too well together.”With that, he reached into his suit pocket and grabbed two Pokéballs, tossing them forward and watching as the Lucario and his overprotective Swampert appeared from the flash of red light.
“Alpha, Ryujin. Go help dig!” he said, pointing to another part of the area where there hadn’t been much progress made.
The two Pokémon set off, ready to attack the wall of snow threatening to push in on them. It’s not until much later did he hear a creaking, ominous noise—and the screaming of people tipped him off. looking around, he doesn’t know where it’s coming from, at least until he looks up and sees that the ceiling is starting to cave in from the weight of all the snow.
Crap. Looks like it’s time to bring out… he thought, making room and tossing a Heavy Ball forward. Ro, his Metagross, emerged from its depths. Wasting no time, he points at the ceiling.
“I know you can tank it. Can you hold up the ceiling with your Telekinesis? Stand your ground and stay here, don’t move unless more of the roof comes… you know,” he added quietly, before the hulking blue beast let out a tired grating noise of assent, and fired off the blast of
Telekinetic energy to help hold up the ceiling.
“Alpha, Ryujin! What’re you standing around there for? Keep digging!” he called out to the two, noticing that the Swampert had taken a break from digging because of the cold, wet snow.
What a freaking mess they were all in…
• Doesn't notice Evan's arm winding around his until he belatedly spots the other veering close to him. Finally notices the sweater he has on, tries not to guffaw because ohmylort
• Gets another mug of hot chocolatw to keep warm
• Hears someone scream about an avalanche, looks out to windows in time to see them all blanketed in white
• Everyone's trying to dig their way out but then there is an Evan hanging onto him
• Tells Evan to stay near the fireplace, goes to coat check and retrieves his toasty overcoat. Returns and drapes Evan in it. Isn't taking protesting noises for an answer
• Sends out his Lucario and Swampert to dig, dig, dig!
• Metagross appears as well when he hears ominous wood creaking. Ceiling cave-in, nanidafuq. Has Ro use Telekinesis to help hold up the weight of the falling roof and to stay there and hold position
