He almost jumped as a dragonair descended with its plus one, allowing a fiery haired stranger to take up a position just beside him on the rocky outcropping. Adrian simply nodded, although was curious who they were, and why they had tailed him all the way out here. "Not at all."
Though secretly he was concerned. Could it really have been they came out here just for some good, old-fashioned fishing? Adrian didn't bite; there was something more to her sudden appearance, but she seemed like a pleasant enough soul.
Perhaps even recognizable...
Before he could place where he'd thought to have seen her before, there was a snag on his line, something heavily resisting its pull. With a few sharp tugs, he realized it wasn't a rock or anything so mundane; there was a little give, although it wasn't far off from the feel of a catch...
Adrian started reeling the line in slowly, watching the line follow the undercurrent for a time before it completely changed directions. At that moment he jumped off his rump, hoisting the line over his head, trying to get the hook to set. Got it!
Man, this fish did not enjoy that. He had to fight it inch for inch, reeling against its dead weight and pull, against the churning of the sea. He'd lift and reel, even take a few steps back from the edge of the outcropping in order to gain leverage over his catch. What was on the other end of the line!?
Once he fought it up to the ocean's surface, he could make out a tiny silhouette. That's it!? It had felt like so much more, but he wasn't deterred. If anything, something so small putting up such a fight made the catch all the more thrilling!
At long last he landed the creature, heaving backwards and bringing the fish careening towards their granite outcropping, allowing it to land against it with a smack like a frozen mackerel.
His pokeball was already in hand at the sight of it, lobbing it at the creature before it needlessly suffered further. And just like that, it was over. Adrian almost couldn't believe his luck, though he was interested to see what else might bite, and what the other person was doing here...
tl;dr attempting to capture feebas!
