As he lingers on the edge of the PK zone, organizing his inventory in preparation to carry out some weird transport quest, Gavin sends out a few DMs to those on his friends list, offline or not. Though wording differs slightly between each of them, the gist is as such: 'if in need of egg transport quest from avia 2 valora, meet @ quest start'.[break][break]

The quest-giver was spouting off her voice-lines about the quest backstory and who wanted the egg and blah, blah, blah; Gavin's already tuned it out. He'd listened in the first time he'd passed by the area but hadn't been in the mood to run regular quests at the time, far more focused on the rush that he got from PvP than anything else. Even now, he was doing this for the cash.[break][break]

His plan is to linger in the safe zone until he finds at least one partner for the mission, then try to set a breakneck pace for Valora. Just, hopefully not a break-egg pace. He'd heard the jumping puzzles could be unforgiving.

[attr="class","spiral"]Gavin will find neither friends nor quarter here. Fernando does not go out of his way to hunt him down specifically but their chance encounter spells an opportunity for revenge. This time, he's not alone, and with numbers come power.

While Gavin remains in the safe zone, Fernando lingers in the danger zone. Apparently as long as he remains within the PVP zone he can still hit people who are within his striking range regardless of whether or not they're in it as well. Took a bit of experimenting and taking free hits but with every death comes a lesson.

Fernando aims his pistol at Gavin shortly after the quest giver finishes their exposition and pulls the trigger. His ZAP CANNON looks to reacquaint him with the pleasures of PARALYZATION.

It isn't until after the attack launches and travels a considerable amount of distance that Fernando toggles the local area chat.

"Ha, ha, surprise, bitch. Guess who."

kyle comes as fernando's backup, settled further away from the entrance than the councilman. at the very least, fernando becomes his first line of defense to buy him time to escape if things go awry.

as fernando fires off his zap cannon, kyle pairs it with his confuse ray.

what he initially planned for getting out of huge clumps of mobs was deduced to a mere tool of player killing. as efficient as it was with getting generated enemies into trouble, it was the same with player characters.

kyle tries to remain hidden, allowing fernando to attract all attention towards him.

The rogue's attempt at putting a mission party together miserably turned a failure when the introductory part became a PVP killing spree. Valerio could not just let them PK his latest eye candy. So he needed to make a move.

Just as he was about to approach manofsteal, he noticed another one, a ranger of sorts, attempting to shot the guy with his pistol. He looked familiar, Valerio thought, until his eyes wandered through the incoming ray of confusion to the poison rogue. Where it came from, another ranger. This time, blond.

Wait a minute. Valerio knew them both. They were his partymates at the Infinite Tower raid.

But being acquainted would not trump the connection he had with manofsteal. At least, for him. He needed to give the rogue some room to fend for himself, and so Valerio took care of his other threat.

"IRON TAIL."

The warrior's blade glimmered silver as he readied for a quick slash, his aim at kyle lopez .

Apparently not even the supposed safety net of the quest giver's camp was sacred. The second Gavin closes the menu after accepting the quest, he's greeted rather rudely by the familiar sting of a paralyzing bullet lodged in his arm.[break][break]

"Fuck."[break][break]

Unfortunate for Gavin, his adversary brought friends. His screen swims with a disorienting confusion that turns his stomach. He's considering logging out then and there to deny these exploit-using assholes their kill, but the arrival of another player that the rogue is acquainted with gives him reason to stick around a little longer. Valerio alerts Gavin to the location of the second combatant as his blade flashes silver, and the rogue struggles to overcome the stacking side-effects in order to assist.[break][break]

"Looks like I brought the threat to us a little early," he remarks dryly to Valerio over comm. He's staggered out of the supposed 'safe-zone' of the quest start, glad that the egg had gone into his inventory upon being shot so that he didn't drop it while disoriented. "Sorry 'bout that."[break][break]

FERNANDO SILPH is the closer target and so Gavin goes for him, attempting to twineedle with a swipe of his twin blades.[break][break]

[attr="class","spiral"] Their synergy lays down the foundation of their win condition. Between being paralyzed and confused, Gavin should find it much harder to keep up with them, discounting the fact that it's a clear two for one special.

At least until someone else comes. Fernando pays them little mind, putting his efforts into channeling his summon. It only takes a few seconds for the animation to finish and when he finishes his cast time, the SPIRIT OF WIND floats behind him. The elf-like creature floats behind him with several gusts funneling around her figure.

Gavin comes in close and Fernando has no chance to block or evade the attack. He's only just finished his skill animation but now that Gavin is up close and personal, it should be easy to punish him with several AIR SLASHES.

the distance between him and the entrance of the town gives kyle enough time to react for the attack. he lets go of the arrow in his hand, fading into existence as it's released from his hold, and wields his bow as a melee weapon.

"nuzzle."

he blocks the attack with his weapon, steel meeting the surface of the wooden bow. it wouldn't normally make sense for his weapon to take an attack from a blade easily, but video game mechanics mean that this does not matter.

electricity courses through the weapon and starts to invade the other's avatar, attempting to paralyze the attacker.

Valerio understood now how paralysis and confusion play with their game. If their target is not immobilized by the status condition, the fatigue from confusion might as well do the trick. That' a top-notch team tactics right there.

The warrior might have dodged the flimsy damage from the arrow, even the paralysis it might have caused the warrior, but he realized there's no point in trying to prolong their defeat. He could deal with being paralyzed later.

Valerio prepared to launch another attack from his blade. This time, a DRAGON RUSH. Purple air of energy replaced the silver gleam on the sword, and in a dash of light the red-haired warrior pounced at his target.

does kyle have to keep dodging and blocking attacks until the rogue dies? he supposed he does.

the attack comes and kyle jumps to the side and lands with a roll, attempting to get away from the attack's trajectory.

time was in his favor as long as he can keep getting himself from getting hit. paralysis was going to settle eventually and give him a little breathing room. all he needs is to bide his time cause it's not like splitting him with fernando is doing them any good.

It seems like all the blonde ranger would do is to dodge his attacks until PARALYSIS kicks him and he would be ready to strike.

"I think not, ranger."

Valerio posed for another DRAGON RUSH, aiming to FLINCH his target. The warrior, once again gleaming in purple fire, launched a swift strike with his blade towards kyle lopez. But this time, his strategy has changed: the otherwise linear attack of the dragon-type move was replaced by an approaching zigzag to cover more space.

He may keep on dodging his blade, Valerio thought, although he made sure the only direction the ranger would spring into is to be at the other ranger's side.

Gavin's head is swimming, his vision distorted, but a moment of clarity lends well to noticing how Valerio is faring with the other ranger. The blond archer is employing a strategy that Gavin knows well — dodge and outlast. So long as they remain divided in their strategies, the ranger duo would have no trouble decimating them both. Hell, Gavin's already almost there.[break][break]

"We need to team up!"[break][break]

He winces as the flinch wears off, but doesn't get much of a breather before the ranger is assaulting him again.[break][break]

Though his efforts to stay alive might be in vain, he holds out hope for Valerio's bulky build to help out. Maybe he won't survive this, but as long as this smug asshole went down with him—[break][break]

[attr="class","spiral"] Fernando doesn't bat an eye as Gavin remains immobilized from his status conditions. The faster they eliminate him the sooner they can turn and focus fire the other Warrior. However, the mention of teaming up does turn Fernando's attention back to his partner and Valerio. Watching Kyle try and strafe Valerio's unrelenting offense doesn't concern Fernando too much, but they're a duo, right?

With Gavin on his last legs, Fernando temporarily trains his gun at Valerio and fires a CHATTER bullet. The soon both of them are riddled with statuses the better.
