Josh was still... Getting the hang of this whole VRMMO thing that his wife had dragged him into. They had gotten separated at some point when some friends had prodded her for a quest, and then he soon after received a message, something or other about her becoming the Queen of something some and such.

Well, that was... Interesting. Either way, on his way to meet Izumi Yamamura and find out what this whole mess was about, Josh, or "Dragon SOLDIER" as the MMO's naming schemes had dubbed him, would find himself with a quest on the way. One in which an egg was thrust into his hands. What had initially just been something to do on the way was now... Well...

Well, now he was protecting an egg on the way to Valora. Lovely. Luckily he'd been carrying eggs around for much of his life, so this was just another day at the office. Just with... A lot more danger. Taking a breath, he steeled himself as he would begin the trek. This was not going to be the easiest thing in the world, probably. He had been warned as such.

Stormy had honestly taken to PKing players during this mission - it was seriously easy pickings for experience grinding. After all, killing other player characters gave her way more experience in a shorter amount of time than it ever did grinding minions in Ignis, even with her queen bonus.[break][break]

"Hey, you do know that it's a super bad idea to take this mission alone, right? Or are you some sort of OP one man show and you're literally unstoppable?"[break][break]

Stormy smirks as she approaches, her robes billowing quietly around her as a sharp gust of wind picks at her clothing. She gestures towards the path he's about to take and purses her lips.[break][break]

"Need help?"

It didn't take long for him to be approached by an armored woman. She would point out that taking this mission alone was a bad idea. Remembering what the questgiver had said about watching out for player killing in this zone, he supposed it might well be. While this was a simulation and not real life, his tendency to distrust hadn't become any lighter in here. He studied her face a moment, before nodding his head.

"It would be appreciated."

He was wholly aware that this was probably a bad idea too. Taking a breath, he would summon the item he had bought before venturing out, and hang it onto his back. He would rest the egg within it, before drawing the large sword on his back. It was a large basket, essentially, keeping the egg protected while freeing up his hands. He had been intending only to summon it should he need it for combat, but he figured he might as well start taking precautions now.

"Certainly nice of you to hang around offering aid to folks" He remarked as he got to walking again. "Any chance I could get your name?"

She chuckles at his comment, and genuinely isn't sure if he's being sarcastic or blissfully ignorant. Regardless, she offers the man a party invite and his mission details appear on the side of her HUD.[break][break]

"Weather_girl, or 'Queen', whatever suits."[break][break]

Stormy might have offered him a handshake, but given how preoccupied he was with the egg basket and his weapons she opted to keep her hands to herself.[break][break]

Instead, she raised her wand to summon a SUNNY DAY. It brightens up their path and peels away the overbearing clouds above their heads. Should be easy to find their path now, and without the looming threat of rain and HURRICANES. [break][break]

"Lead the way, party leader."[break][break]

She had given him the party leader options as soon as he had accepted.

Icy blue eyes regarded her with a neutral expression that accompanied a nod when she would make the party and set things up. He had about gotten a handle on these functions, but he appreciated it nonetheless. She would bring up her avatar name as the name to go by, and that seemed acceptable enough. "Dragon Soldier. Dragon will do fine" He responded, noting she had swapped him to party leader as soon as they had started.

When told to lead the way, he nodded again as he took the lead. He would have preferred to let her do so, but considering it was his mission, he supposed he might as well. She had summoned a Sunny Day, and he thought back a moment on if it would benefit his moveset. No, he supposed it would not. It was an interesting choice, but it served a purpose nonetheless as the path before them became more clear.

He would come to a stop before a series of large rock formations. They would need to move carefully and jump from place to place, or risk falling to their deaths below. He examined the formations from a distance for a moment before turning to his companion.

"Any chance any of these might crumble under our feet?" He asked. Just up ahead, a small group of players had hidden themselves behind one of the formations...

Stormy can't help but breath a sigh of relief as the sun bore down on her skin. It literally rejuvenated her and empowered her. That, and it caught the twinkle of her custom tiara.[break][break]

He leads the way and she stays behind him, but quickly realizes that perhaps she should have taken the lead instead. It was clear that she knew the path better than he did, which was to be expected she was just surprised anyway.[break][break]

The mage watches as he steps too close to an edge that will crumble, and it's almost ironic that he asks if it will. Her arm lashes out to grab his upper arm, tugging him backward and toward her just as the bridge falls away. [break][break]

"Oh, definitely. This place is laced with booby traps. There's a niche just ahead where PKer's love to spawn camp. They get you right after you tackle the bridge that breaks. There's probably a fancy word for it but whatever."[break][break]

She winks as she gestures to the bridge. [break][break]

"Here. Let me take the lead and follow my footsteps exactly. You can hold my hand if you want, just in case you slip. I'm stronger than I look."[break][break]

Her hand lays open, palm facing up as she anticipates his hand in hers. If he declines, she would shrug and make her way past him to start inching across the bridge. Every once in a while she would stop short and throw her hand up before jumping a decent distance and shifting to the side to make from for him to do the same.

He hopped back as he felt the edge beginning to crumble, just as his quarry grabbed his arm. Well, he supposed that answered his question. She would explain that there was an area ahead where PKers loved to prey on others, and he looked to her for a moment before watching as she would offer to take the lead. She held out her hand, stating that she would support him if he slipped. He considered if this tactic was wise for him. Especially given the story she had just told.

In the end, he decided that if she tried anything, he'd take her over the edge with him. He reached out and tightly grasped her hand. Though not because he thought he might slip... He just figured it would be better to remain on her good side. As they went, she would lift her hand and jump, giving him space to do the same.

But as they reached one of the rocky platforms, the blonde let out a gasp as a noise familiar to him rattled from just at the edge of his hearing.

His senses going on autopilot, his grip on her hand tightened as he pulled her to him. He would slam the massive sword he'd been carrying down with one hand, using the momentum to launch them both upwards. It was a risk, and he was still getting used to the inhuman strength that this world had lent him, but it seemed it was good he had. Just below them, both the platform they had been standing on, as well as the ones around it, were sent crumbling down with Bullet Seed.

Josh may not have much experience in the game itself, but it was not a game-based sense that had saved them here. The two barely landed on a larger rocky platform, with a large boulder in front of them.

"It came from there."

Her balance is momentarily lost as her body is pressed close to his. They narrowly dodge the BULLET SEED that whistles past her cheek and she steadies herself, pushing off of him slightly to glance around his chest and fire off a PSYCHIC, pushing whoever their assailant was into the clouds below. [break][break]

Not long after, with her hand still held fast and her partner's closeness ensuring her safety, the warrior uses his sword as a vaulting pole. They're sent flying away from the area and make it to the other side virtually unscathed.[break][break]
Stormy purses her lips and pats him on the shoulder, brushing dust off of his armor and morphing her lips into a grin.[break][break]

"Not bad, dude. Not bad at all."[break][break]

He gestures to the group of PKers who's jaws have dropped to the ground at the risky act they had just witnessed. Stormy chuckles and shakes her head, clearly not the least bit worried.[break][break]

"I wouldn't worry about them. They're too stunned to even move. C'mon, let's keep going. You just shaved us like half the trip with that sweet trick."

She had acted quickly. One of their assailants had gone flying down into the clouds. The others were too stunned to move by the time the Dragon had pointed out their location. But the woman was right, while it was incredibly risky, they had sped their time that it would take to get to their destination. He nodded his head. It was best they got moving. Especially if he intended to meet Izumi in town. To be honest, he didn't like the idea of making his wife wait. And not because of it being polite or anything... She just had no patience. And a really bad temper.

But as the two would begin hopping across again, he would perk up when he heard a sound. It seemed that one of the remainder had shot yet another Bullet Seed once they had recovered, hoping to crumble the rocks below them. He would draw the large sword on his back and bat the shots back, hitting the ground below their pursuers as they would be sent falling along with their crumbling footing.

With no more interruptions, they would get across, and the city would soon be dead ahead.

"Looks like we made it" He spoke up, once he had checked and verified the safety of the egg. Not that he was letting his guard down yet. Not until they were out of the PK areas.

He did turn his head back to look to her though, giving her a curt nod. "Thank you."
