"THIS TOWER IS BUILT ON A PECULIAR POWER SOURCE," the man says. he speaks calmly, nary a spike or bow to his tone. "IT ALLOWS MY HATTERENE TO GROW TO AN INCREDIBLE SIZE."[break][break][break]

with a breath, the man opens his eyes. he explains the challenge, and allows you all to make the first move.[break][break][break]

This was going to be a complicated floor. The roof was so close, they almost made it to the top. Of course, upon seeing the other Hatterene Ruby's eyes narrowed in curiosity. Grow to an incredible size? Looked like she would have to figure that out eventually, but for now, there was a strategy that they needed to put into effect.

With a confident smile, Ruby finally sent out Whisper. The cocky Hatterene standing proudly, staring down the Hatterene across the room as if it was mocking her somehow. However, Whisper had no super-effective moves against the Hatterene that might cause it to shudder.

"Come on girl, let's start this off. Magic Powder." It wasn't a move she normally used, but it was a move that only Hatterenes could even learn. Whisper seemed to blow a huge puff of pinkish-purple powder straight towards their opponent. The move would effectively strip them of their Fairy typing, leaving them pure Psychic-type and ready for the rest of the strategy.

Notes: Whisper has no Super Effective Moves. Psychic, Calm Mind, Magic Powder, Mystical Fire, Psycho Cut, Dazzling Gleam

SKILL SWAP trades her own ability for that of the Hatterene, who could no longer anticipate their super-effective attacks.[break][break]

Delphi flicks her forked tail and sits down, swiping a paw over her ear as if indifferent to the whole affair.

Sacrifices had to be made.

Being one of Remiel's oldest companions, Thorgrim knew this more than the rest of the Galarian's pokémon. And he'd always managed to get the last laugh on most of them... until today.

Despite his recent transformation into an Alolan Meowth, he was still very much a rough-and-tumble Galarian Meowth at heart. But it didn't do much to save him the embarrassment. He was so well-groomed now and, despite his best efforts, it seemed determined to stay that way! Pissed off and in a sour mood, Remiel's next command came rather easily to the cat. "Parting Shot!"

Though seemingly perturbed by the presence of Dynamaxing here, the Galarian's state went unnoticed by the cat as it leaped forward and cursed the Hatterene out. Then, with a huff and a backflip, switched out. Soon it would demand with tooth and nail to be turned back to its usual self.

Now that the ANTICIPATION had been dealt with, all Remiel and Katherine had to do was take care of the Hatterene herself. And for once in these challenges, the violet-haired woman opts to follow someone else's lead and simply mimic their moves. Shortly after Kat's Pancham is released, he is instructed to use PARTING SHOT and follow the lead of the Alolan Meowth.

ONCE YOU ASCEND THE STAIRS, you find yourselves looking upon an incredible vista of hoennian sea. the roof of the tower is a flat, square-shaped plane, like a ring for martial artists to duel upon. there are no rails or fences for safety; however, several medicham are stationed nearby— presumably, to catch anyone or any pokemon from falling into the sea.[break][break]

"CONGRATULATIONS ON MAKING IT THIS FAR!" the tower's master, or at least, one of them, is a grisly man. his bushy hair is a mane across his bearish shoulders. "NOW THIS IS YOUR FINAL TEST."[break][break][break]

he tosses a pokeball to the center of the battlefield. red light unsheathes a powerful looking pokemon in black and white fur. this urshifu is a pokemon you have never seen before, perhaps thanks to the galarian embargo. however, even then, those from galar may find this species to be elusive.[break][break][break]

"DEFEAT MY SINGLE-STRIKE URSHIFU." the man says. "SHOULD YOU MAKE ONE FALSE MOVE, HE WILL STRIKE YOU OFF THE TOWER." his solemn glance softens into a well-humored smile. "BUT OUR MEDICHAM WILL PSYCHICALLY SEIZE THEM BEFORE THEY FALL, OF COURSE." he gestures to his pokemon, "I WOULD HAVE CONSIDERED LETTING YOU ALL FACE MY RAPID-STRIKE URSHIFU, BUT SHE'S TUCKERED OUT WITH A NEW LITTER..."[break][break][break]

for this challenge, you have five lives. rolling one of the rolled numbers above means that your pokemon will be knocked out and struck off the tower by a single strike from this urshifu. if all five lives are expended, the fight ends. similarly, the fight ends when your roll totals add up to or surpass 1000.
if your pokemon is knocked out, you can sub in another pokemon from your team; furthermore, salac berries can be used in this round to replace your roll.
you must roll with any post you make, regardless of whether you are attacking, buffing, protecting, etc. you must collaboratively roleplay a fight against this urshifu (no mod posts).
you do not need to maintain a posting order. in other words, other characters can post between each other without cycling through every character on your team. however, everyone should contribute posts this final round.

The Urshifu is stared at with a curious stare, and then a tilt of Katherine's head. She certainly piqued the Rocketess's interest, but mostly due to the fact that she had yet to encounter a similar pokemon rather than the challenge itself.

It sounded fairly simple, didn't it?

A different pokemon is chosen as the first to battle the Urshifu: Katherine's very own Leafeon. As soon as she emerges, the grass-type attempts to stifle a yawn with one of her paws before directing her eyes to the target. "Follow your instincts, Ivy." A short nod occurs before Kat's partner begins to follow her advice.

The leaf that sprouted from the Leafeon's head glowed with an emerald hue before shooting a multitude of sharp leaves at Urshifu, giving RAZOR LEAF a try. Her intent was to find out how good this move would fare.

Orion grins as they reach what is apparently their final challenge; he glances at his teammates, two strangers and a fellow psychic-type specialist, and offers a curt nod. Whatever happened next, they'd made it this far. That was commendable.[break][break]

Their opponent is intimidating, the threat of being kicked off the tower enough to incite a nervous energy.[break][break]

Seeing as she was already on the field, and Orion trusted her as much as any of his Pokemon, the Espeon leads his charge. Given no specific instruction except to act, Delphi concentrates on a burst of PSYCHIC energy. The red gem set in her forehead flashes as if to telegraph the attack.[break][break]

The legends didn't do the beast justice.

He was a magnificent specimen, certainly worthy of study within Team Rocket's lab. Most eager to prompt the Urshifu into battle and pay witness to its abilities and fighting style, Remiel was quick to reach for a luxury ball already clipped to his belt.

When he tossed the ball, his Leavanny erupted from the golden flash that subsequently emerged. She was quick, lithe, and agile. Certainly capable of giving the Urshifu at least some difficulty.

The blue-grey eyed prince pointed ahead. "Electro Web." He commanded, hoping she caught the martial artist off guard and slowed his movements down for the others to move in.

This was it. The final challenge. Ruby's smile was extremely wide as they stepped up to the roof, Whisper still by her side. She took in a deep breath of fresh air, even going so far as the hold Whisper's tentacle as they prepared for the final challenge.

Medicham surrounded the outside edges of the tower, with no walls or rails or anything. Hopefully, they were there to keep people from falling. Regardless, Ruby focused her attention on the one man who spoke to begin their final challenge.

Her eyes immediately widened intensely as she saw the Urshifu standing before her. The name was familiar, but Ruby definitely hadn't even heard of it before, let alone see anything like it. Whisper was quick to prepare for battle, slowly floating forwards. With a confident nod, Ruby glanced at the rest of her teammates before pointing at the Urshifu, gripping her necklace that contained the mega-accessory.

Whisper immediately began to mega evolve, their form shaping and shifting before her very eyes. Tentacle split into three, with the smaller form within the hair quite visible as she stared daggers at the Urshifu. "Let's start off strong! Smite!"

Whisper roared silently as what appeared to be stars fell down around the Urshifu, burning away with Fairy-type energy and hopefully confusing it.

There's a hint of pride in the grass-type when she notices that the move worked, and the Urshifu was in fact somewhat damaged by her attack. Sure, it was far from enough to utterly defeat it in a single hit - but progress was progress. Both Ivy and Katherine weren't going to complain about it, and if the trainer had any guess, neither will her partners for this job.

No one had been knocked off just yet.

If they could keep this up, perhaps they would manage to cause the Urshifu to stumble and fall. Deciding now was the perfect opportunity to utilize Acacia's uncanny ability to provide strategic aid during combat, Remiel caught her attention with a whistle as she backflipped to create some momentary distance from her large opponent.

"Help boost the Leafeon's attack!" He ordered, seeking to unite the power of two Grass-type pokémon to hopefully overwhelm the imposing beast. And Acacia did just so, quick to analyze the Leafeon and boost her next attack with a Helping Hand. All in all, she was having fun.

The creature was quick and ferocious. Getting in close was extremely dangerous, and Remiel's Leavanny was all too conscious of the fact. Thankfully, her long-range attacks and assistance aided in the endeavor to keep away from its powerful punches. Seeing it falter slightly, she decided now was the time to capitalize on it.

Extending her arms out towards the bear-like fighter, Acacia summoned a strange verdant glow that compelled the life-force of the Urshifu to exit and float towards her as bright green orbs. This was the healing force of a GIGA DRAIN.

The PSYCHIC is boosted by the help of Leavanny's HELPING HAND, but truthfully, the Leafeon's psychic attack is not all too impressive. It was time to consider a different course of action, and Katherine does so without a moment of doubt. "SUNNY DAY, Ivy. Turn up the heat for us."
