It was time to see what the little runt had in him. Remiel didn't tolerate weak specimens. Though, based on the ferocity of the Urshifu he had faced (with his team) atop the challenge tower, he trusted the bipedal cub would not disappoint.

After purchasing his safari ticket and thanking the warden for his services, the pair strolled into the vast wilderness of the safari zone ahead. Theseus made sure to keep pace with his master. Remiel, in the meantime, kept his eyes dead-ahead as he scanned for any potential opponents to be had.

A Gastly in the daytime?

Though certainly an oddity, this was the perfect chance to test Theseus' capacity for understanding. The cub looked over its shoulder when its master gave no command. With nothing more than a nod that gestured for it to move forward, it was forced to attack the mischievous spirit with its own cunning. Rather than strike with a physical attack that focused on harnessing the power of martial arts, however, the Kubfu executed different.

It took a firm posture as the spirit gave it a Mean Look. When it managed to focus a layer of Steel-type energy at its forehead, however, the cub leaped forward to deliver a swift Iron Head. The attack proved successful, and the Gastly dissipated. Pleased, Remiel made a hum of approval before they moved on.

They came to the bank of a large river flowing through the thick forest. Strangely enough, it appeared Tentacool had begun to inhabit these waters. Remiel surmised that they had been carried into the river through a riptide of some sort. But, to be honest, he wasn't quite sure. It really was quite baffling.

The one in the middle of the river seemed determine to coerce his Kubfu into entering the waters with it. It taunted it inward with a wag of one of its tentacles. Theseus, however, wasn't as daft as he appeared to be. He, too, caught sight of the Poison Jab ready tentacle floating behind it. So they ignored the creature, and moved on.

Shiny Eiscue came in... pink.

It was odd to see one ambling about in the forest. But, then again, it had proven to get pretty cold. And Remiel sniffed something in the air. There was likely a glacier nearby. And an ocean. He would set upon to find both, but not before capturing the penguin. "Close Combat." He ordered, sending the cub to down the unsuspecting creature while he reached for an empty ball clipped to his belt.

The initial beat-down was only just enough to shatter the block of ice shielding its head. When it stumbled to the ground and began squawking, Theseus turned over his shoulder to acknowledge his master. It was unsure whether it should continue beating down this helpless penguin. Deciding he likely didn't have to, Remiel cast the ball and waited to see whether it would emerge.

If it did, then yes. It would get beat down more.

Following the river to its source was their best bet. So they set upon it, weaving through the woodlands, keeping a sharp eye out for threats. It was the human of this duo, however, the came to spot something in the water nearby.

The familiar glint of a marvel scale.

It was a young Dratini hatchling was exploring the river. A truly rare sight. But the Galarian would not go through the trouble of attacking or capturing it. Perhaps if it had been larger; older. But hatchlings were fragile, and needed the time to grow.

As it turned out, Theseus could be the rather playful sort. He'd found a Sunkern in some of the bushes nearby and kept it aloft with knees and feet as he waited for his master to catch up with him. The seed defensively tucked into itself as it endured being playing around with, uttering a small squeak of a cry every now and then as it continued.

When Remiel finally caught up, however, he gestured at his Kubfu with a wave. "Let it go. We need to move on." He spoke, continuing ahead as Theseus abandoned the seed and rejoined him. The Sunkern, relieved, peeked out and sighed.

Having witnessed the Kubfu's uncaring treatment of its friend, however, a Scatterbug suddenly dropped down from a tree. Hanging from a string of its silk, it gently began to swing backwards and forwards, backwards and forwards— until, finally, launching itself towards the cub with one powerful swing. As it descended, a red Ragepowder emanated out from its body as it prepared a Bug Bite.

Unfortunately for the bug, it had far underestimated Theseus' reflexes. With a swift pivot, and an Aerial Ace that was executed as easily as walking, the Ragepowder was avoided and the Scatterbug was knocked out of the sky before it could even hope to land its bite. It landed into a nearby bush unconscious, upon which the Kubfu smirked and turned back ahead to catch up with Remiel.
