Macua will always be Selena’s favorite partner for this shooting course. Its incredible speed at picking up arrows from its wings and Selena’s at par skills with bows makes the two a team. She does not want to boast this to her teammates, however, since she does not want to jinx their chances at topping this race.

NASTY PLOT builds behind Macua’s head, and the sound of alarm makes them both put on their game faces.

Decidueye seems a natural choice for a course such as this. The merits of Metagross are less evident at a glance; it's only when it takes its place next to the hooded owl that its strategy becomes evident. With PSYCH UP, it mirrors the effect of the bird's dark plots.

Unlike the target-smashing course, where Gavin was content to let his Pokemon do most of the work, he utilizes his good aim and pegs several with the water pistol he'd been handed.[break][break]

kyle stretches as he readies for another course, his smeargle following after his trainer's lead. there's only one start for these kinds of runs with his smeargle, and the smeargle already knows what to do.

as rehearsed with multiples of the same runs before, it psychs up after the decidueye, sharing its boost in special attack. it's trying to roar afterwards, but the sound it makes doesn't quite fit its intentions.

if not for decidueye’s scaredy cat antics, they will make a perfect team. but in reality, selena does not wish for more—macua is perfect for the job, even when his aim is off sometimes especially when he is surprised. “get yourself together macua, we can do this!”[break][break]

selena holds tightly to her water gun as they destroy all other snipers directed at them. decidueye continues to watch them with a nasty plot, finding a way to conveniently decimate all of their targets and win the pokéathlon course.[break][break]

Gavin finds himself pulling most of the weight in their duo; Metagross is not as effective at this as he'd hoped. It continues to PSYCH UP under his watchful eye.[break][break]

It's a shame they're on a time limit — Gavin's aim with the water pistol is precise, if not as rapid as the Metagross' mental blasts. He doesn't miss a single shot. He can't say the same for his haggard Pokemon.[break][break]

Though he'd normally find time to jest with Marcel about the other's sub-par aim, Gavin's focus on the course is absolute. They're not doing great and he knows it, but he also thinks they can make up ground.[break][break]

If anything, their progress worsens. Gavin's teeth flash in a silent snarl as he takes out his frustration on the targets.
