as torpedo hit the water he surged forward like it was giving him a speed boost as he circled around before swimming up to the platform for kazimir to jump onto him. "alright buddy. this time i'm counting on ya to get us through this course alright? reaaaaady....go!" with a whistle kaz signaled his shark to surge forward as it cleaved through the water with its agility shining through. another go at the pokethon resulted in him ending up having to do a water course and he was lucky to remember that he did have a speedy water type pokemon that was ready to see him get the best time.

Belladone was familiar with the course, but her competitive nature could only mean one thing: she wanted to excel this time, even moreso than last time.

Knowing the ins and outs of it gave her a clear advantage, and she was already preparing to race to the finish line.

Razz wasn't too sure about this one, though after a lot of complaining on the cat's part the Ranger decided to let him join in a game. Honestly though he was surprised on which game as he didn't think Salem would be able to keep up. Though the blue cat just beamed with the aura of 'trust me' so that was what he was going to do now that they were about to race. He looked to the others recognizing them all as he looked down to him. "You sure you got this Salem?" he questioned obviously a little worried before Salem pumped his chest and his eyes glowed blue with the use of PSYCH UP in order to copy the boosted stats of the others. "I did not teach you that," he couldn't help but comment curious on how the cat taught himself did he just do it while he was doing the races with the others? The starting whistle blew and he didn't have the time to answer as the Psychic cat took off intending to have all the fun.

two of the people he's with are ones he had already participated with on prior trials. he's certain that at least the they'll be able to finish this without hiccups, especially since the third person seemed to know what he was doing too.

it wasn't like kyle was in any position to judge people since all he does is let his pokemon do majority of the work. there weren't even any thinking done on how to approach the task even.

"aight, you know what to do," he tells his smeargle. it psychs itself up upon seeing the other contenders and gets a boost of speed.

We gotta gun it!" somehow kaz had found the balance to surf on his sharpdedo as he held onto the pokemon fin as it surged forward with another speed boosted agility that would have knocked kaz clean off. The two managed to pass the first set of check points already but up above was something they didn't expect. Hoops. "let's jump through them torpedo. And let's do it with style"

The bug-type is far too excited, her speed exceeding what Katherine originally prepared for. A second AGILITY and their SPEED BOOST ability making their pace even more alarming, forcing the woman to hold on even tighter. In the brief while Katherine is given by her partner, she spares a glance at her teammates. It seemed like none of them shared the same problem that she did.

And for that, she curses her luck. And a bit of theirs too.

Seemed like the muscle guy and bug girl at a similar thought, he should really get their names if he's competing with these people more than once. They both brought pokemon who they could ride on to race with their pokemon while the trainer with the Smergle and him seemed to go a different route with running beside their pokemon as they were easily much to small to ride. Though with the use of PSYCH UP one more time Salem was able to make himself just as fast as the others, along with the bonus of the being the agile little kitty so when the hurdles came up Salem had no problem going over them and keeping up at a fast pace.

one last psych up and the smeargle's starting to catch up with the rest. it's so fast that kyle doesn't even want to put in the effort to run after it.

his pace turns from a tryhard sprint to a chill jog. he was just recovering from the alcohol that maybe he shouldn't be forcing himself on this. if only there wasn't any prize at the end of this event.

the finish line was within sight, a few more good pushes and they would make it through without a problem! "don't slow down torpedo! we gotta kick it up even farther! shoot on through!" sure enough the shark surged forward with kazimir holding onto his fin as they two made their way to the end of the race course. their spirits were flying high and nothing could bring them down.

Katherine imagined that this is what horse riding felt like.

Wild, free, and exciting. Sure, her Pokemon took it a couple of steps too far and made things more dangerous than necessary, but still, she was enjoying the ride despite the few bumps they've had along the way. Belladonna wouldn't put her trainer at harm's way— not on purpose, at least.

"We're almost there, we can make it. Don't slow down!" Despite her attempt at encouraging the bug-type, Kat knew that her team's chances at breaking her last record were extremely low.

Despite the course feeling a bit longer than usual Razz was amused with just how much fun Salem seemed to be having in the race. The cat easily went through obstacles like they were nothing so far. And now as they had to cross over the water over the platforms the cat used PSYCHIC to bring himself and trainer over it. Now over the hurtle hopefully that would bring them closer to the finish line.

only one last hurrah and they'll be able to reach the finish line. kyle musters the last of his strength to sprint towards the end, which his smeargle had passed by with ease.

there was panting from the elite four trainer as he finishes, although he knew he'd probably still do a bunch of these courses.
