The ASTONISH didn't have any effect on Mantyke, but the prolonged healing gave Dugtrio time to snap out of confusion. It shook its heads of long, glorious blonde hair, whirled the sandy locks, and sent another trio of elemental blasts at the floating opponent. TRI-ATTACK!

"The hiking is great around Mt. Chimney, isn't it? Plenty of Dugtrio up on the mountains. These little guys were a gift from a friend, though. Not sure where she got them...Probably wasn't Alola. Have you ever been?"

PRECISION BADGE // HUNT FOR FOSSILS #1

Zac looked over the assorted tools. Brushes, tiny picks, solvents and bonding agents. It was all laid out on a big tray in front of the un-fossilizer 3000.

He laid out the three pieces, as well as the tiny chips from the second piece. "Now I just need my notes," Zac said. He opened his bag and removed several academic textbooks showing proper up-to-date fossil reconstruction techniques. "Okay, now we just..." Zac mumbled to himself, following the instructions. He switched Greg's stick for a soft brush, and had Lulu look on helpfully as he put the fossil back together correctly.

Attachment sites were cleaned, dirt was removed, and bones were bonded. Zac was an old hand at archaeology, and when it came down to it paleontology wasn't much different. Mainly just older, and with more teeth.

"There!" He said, standing back from the fossil, which had been reassembled precisely as the instructions had advised.

"That's a relief," Zac said, a little disappointed. He rather liked the overstuffed look. "Yeah Bulu's pretty sleepy most of the time. I've spent half the bloody tournament just trying to wake it up! I know that Koko and Fini are pretty energetic. Never met Lele. Maybe it's just as lazy."

Arcanine crashed into Scolipede, who rolled over onto her back in surrender.

Jasmine's jaws clanged against Scizor, and she backed off, arcing in again, but this time with electricity crackling between her jaws. She was going to bite Scizor with a THUNDERBOLT!

The DISCHARGE from Rotom arced towards Snow White. It honed in on her electric components, frying diodes and melting wires. The fridge shuddered and fell to the sand, its ghostly occupant fainted and the soda inside now boiling hot. "Nooooo!" Zac called, rushing over to revive the fridge, He sprayed her with a revive, and Snow White righted herself slowly. Unfortunately, it was too late. The Charja-Cola couldn't be saved.

"Nice to meet ya too!" Zac said, grinning manically at his new friend. "Yeah the sleepy bull, that's me! You didn't buy any of the merch, did you?" he said, feeling a tad embarrassed but far more flattered. "The plushies of me are tremendously overstuffed."

Meanwhile, the bug wheel rolled on, only gaining speed as the ROLLOUT built up. Arcanine's jaws CRUNCHED behind Scolipede, and the insect FLINCHED, losing some of its momentum at the sound of the snapping fangs.

At the sight of the multi-headed HYPNOSIS Tapu Bulu's rampage slowed, and stopped. The bull lay back down on the sand, happily snoozing again. "Huh, well, I'm gonna have to dock ya half a case because now we're right back where we started," Zac said, shaking his head.

A grin split his stern visage. "I'm just messing with ya mate," he said, slapping Danny on the back. "Great work! Case is all yours!"

The whistle blew, and Zac sat down, chewing numbly on a chunk of rind. They were done., and he felt fuller than the overstuffed plush Zac Ramsays they were selling at the merch store. "You ever hear that old bit of housewives wisdom about eating watermelon seeds?" Zac asked, spitting a few of the black seeds out into a napkin. "About how they'll grow in your belly? Well I doubly hope it was just to spook kids, because if there's one person in danger of unwanted fruit growth it's me!" He laughed, and heaved himself up off his chair to go and shake hands with Noah.

"Fantastic match mate," Zac said. "Uh, both of them. I've never seen anyone move quite like you and your fighters. Great work the lot of you."

The judges tallied the points, weighed the scraps, and came over to Zac's table to award him the prize. It was a little medal with a watermelon in it, and a pair of the huge fruits to take home. "Whoa! Thanks so much, guys! Here, Noah," Zac said, tossing one of the melons to his partner in rind, "see ya at the next barbecue, ay?"

"I'll let you know when I find a good place," Zac said, his heart thudding at the prospect of another battle, especially one that wasn't on the beach. It was a fine biome, but variety was the spice of life.

Senon had the way of the wilds about him. He was a true man of the outdoors. They would make a fine pair, out in the unmapped pockets of Hoenn's great wilderness.

"Stay safe, mate!" he called after the fellow redhead. "And give me a yell if you need some healing!"

The BLAZE KICK collided in a cloud of flame. Tapu Bulu bellowed in anger, and thick thorns tore up through the tarp flooring of the contest tent. Zac grabbed Temp and his side salad, and hauled the precious cargo out onto the sand. Inside, the sound of furious battle could be heard. Explosions, creaking wood, and furious barking.

A referee ran up to Zac, blasting his whistle and handing the gym leader a red card. Zac just sighed. Somehow he'd been disqualified from his own eating contest. "You know what mate? The holiday is all yours." Zac's smile crept back onto his face, and he handed the salad to Temp. "It's the least I can do."

"I could maybe talk to the hotel and get-" Bulu reeled back from the FORCE PALM, only to come roaring back with a MEGAHORN that sent the whole table tumblimg across the sand. Something in the pasta had awoken Bulu's hunger. The citrus? The seafood? The basil? Whatever it was, Bulu was furious.

Always a fan of tricks, Zac whistled at the display of manual prowess. It was very cool. Can couldn't do it, that much was for sure. "Yeah! The name's Zac Ramsay," Zac said, sticking out a hand in greeting. "What's your name?"

Scolipede was terrified of the bare-toothed Arcanine, and retreated back into its shell. The little scaredy-bug rolled away across the sands, with Arcanine hot on its trail.
