Bulu tore up a nearby tree, using the trunk to block the incoming WATER PULSE. The powerful spray showered the already soaked battlefield, diluting the milk.  

"Uh oh," Zac said, ominously. "Uh, I think we may have gone a bit too far." As if to prove his point, Bulu hurled the tree at Volcarona. The massive projectile tore through the incoming BUG BUZZ, its bark peeling back and falling in chewed chunks. Bulu reached for another of the massive seaside pines. Grasping vines burst from the ground around Milotic as NATURE'S MADNESS surrounded the serpent in a cage of twisted, slashing brambles.

"It's probably best to either run, or try to slow it down," Zac advised, as he took a few wet steps back. "I'm sure Bulu will tire itself out in a bit and go back to sleep...probably."

Inteleon had found the perfect sniper nest. Sneg's leaves formed a cunning screen, and the sniper's first shot managed to take out Grapploct as it came in for another undoubtedly underhanded attack. Sneg tried to stay still, rocking a bit with the waves but protecting Inteleon as best he could.

"Nice shot!" Zac called to Melody. He gave her a thumbs up and a wink. "Oh by the way, are you looking for sponsorship deals?" he asked, casually, in a way that segued naturally from their current conversational topic. "I've been thinking that Charja-Cola needs some fresh new faces for our lineup. Are you interested?"

Now that Grapploct had been knocked out, there was only one enemy left on the field, and they were no real threat. The Cursola rocked back and forth uselessly. They had pulled their big move, and now all that was left was to run out the clock. 

Perish Count dropped to 1

The superpowered ball spiked down from Michail's side, and bounced off Bulu's head. It shot off at an odd angle, and Zac lunged for it, barely managing to knock it back up into the air. "Fore!" he yelled, and Greg sent a volley of MAGIC LEAVES at the ball. It flew back over the net, returned with some interesting topspin.

"You much of a sports guy?" Zac asked, conversationally. what was a match without a bit of chatter?

Bulu was used to fire. The legendary's black coloring wasn't natural, after all. It was a relic of its fight with Heatran. The bull's wooden exterior had burned permanently after spending minutes fighting in a a scorching storm of magma. Trying fire on Bulu was like trying to roast a piece of charcoal.

"You're gonna have to hit it with more than that," Zac said. But Mason's Volcarona hadn't just hit Bulu. It had hit the plants. As the foliage around the bull burnt to ash, the legendary opened its eyes. Plants burned. Shade gone. Enough was enough! The hot wind wasn't painful, but it was sure making for unpleasant sleeping weather. Bulu heaved itself up, staring down the moth.

"MOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" The cry rang out, long and low. It shuddered the trees, shook the clouds, and made Zac's teeth hurt.

Above them, white clouds gathered. Pale, dense clouds that were thick with rain. Huge, white droplets fell from the sky, splattering the battlefield and quickly evaporating to milky steam.




"You did it mate!" Zac shouted, patting Mason on the back as the rain around them strengthened from a light, lactose sprinkle to a full on dairy downpour. The gym leader seemed to take no notice of the fact that the pair were getting completely soaked with milk. "Going for the plants was a stroke of genius!"

The ball came speeding back, igniting Sneg's upper leaves as it bouncing off the tall tree. "Whoa! Buddy! You all right?" Zac called up, but Sneg was clearly not enjoying the burning. He stamped off the court, trudging towards the ocean as fast as he could. With extreme enthusiasm, Sneg hurled himself head-first into the sea, quenching the fire. 

Team Ramsay was down to two.

Zac retrieved the ball from where it had fallen on the sand. One point each. It seemed like neither team was very good at defense.

"Banjo! Ready?" Zac asked. He wiped away some of the summer sweat and passed the ball to the Kingler, who batted it high into the sky with a powerful CRABHAMMER. It wasn't the direct spike that Sneg was known for, but hopefully the sharp angle would be hard to return.

Next up: Tapu Bulu.
Surely all that napping had made the legendary hungry. Right?
Zac looked over at Bo's team. Skarmory had finished its plate with gusto, and thankfully Gigalith didn't seem too interested in the sweet fruit. 

"Come on Bulu! We've got a chance to pull ahead!" Zac said, and he nudged the legendary supportively, waving a chunk of watermelon in front of its nose. He watched hopefully as the black bull opened one eye at the smell of fresh watermelon. Bulu sniffed the fruit, snorted, and a palm tree sprouted underneath the table. The whole setup tilted, and the whole watermelon rolled into Bulu's waiting mouth.

The legendary chewed slowly, and then fell promptly back to sleep.

HANDYMAN HUSTLE II ☆ WEDDING WISH!

If there was one thing Zac was good at, it wasn't decorating. But for Michi? Anything.

"Don't worry, I'll have this place dressed to the nines in no time!" he said, rifling through one of the boxes. It was packed with an eclectic assortment of decorations. Hanging letter banners, un-popped party-poppers that were well past their expiration, packets of re-usable glitter, and of course wedding wigs. Zac pulled out one of the Bouffalant wigs, trying it on. "Now this is a wedding look and a half!" 

Zac unjumbled the glamorous hanging letters and laid them out on the table. There were a few sets, mixed in from previous anniversaries and other events. JOYFUL 10TH ANNIVERSARY!, MICHIKO L♡VE MICKEY, NEW YEAR 2002, and HAPPY BIRTHDAY MATCHAN! "Now how can I use these to spruce the place up?" he wondered. One of them one was fine, but the other three were either outdated or not relevant (sorry Matchan). 

Zac grabbed a pair of scissors and some sparkly tape, and set to work rearranging the letters. "How are there no G's?" Zac wondered, shaking his head. "And only one S? Hmmm, I can use some of these M's as W's though..."

Twenty minutes later he was done, and hung the rejuvenated banners across the entryway. He had used some of the letters 'creatively', but the final product was quite stunning.

Mickey had also mentioned that Michiko was praying for Jirachi to appear, so on a spur of the moment he had thrown together a

WELC♡ME JIRACHI CHAN!

banner. With the remaining letters, Zac made some delicate cuts and created one last label.

It wasn't a masterpieces, but it would help people find the food as they navigated the busy house.

Meg horked down the melon, and for a second everything was right with the world. Zac was about to chalk it up as a point for Team Ramsay, when the turtle went bug-eyed and ducked back inside its shell. 

Two thick cannons emerged from her back. Emergency exits.
With a shudder, acidic jets of watermelon slush sprayed out of Blastoise's cannons, carving twin paths through the crowd. An old man was knocked over by the spray and got washed out of the tent, shaking his stick all the way.

But Zac didn't have time for games. 

"Banjo! You're up buddy!" Zac said, and his Kingler grabbed two melons. An XXL watermelon in his main claw, and a modest honeydew in his small claw. The honeydew didn't earn them more points, it was just for palette cleansing. 

Kingler cracked open the melon in one powerful SPLORCH!, dropping thick chunks onto the table. He cracked the honeydew with a smaller, quieter, SPLICH!

Then he set about pinching the pieces into his mouth, working the two claws like a boxer. Left, right, left, right, watermelon, honeydew, watermelon, honeydew. It was deliciously efficient, and terrifyingly delicious.

"Yeah they're from Alola, but back when aliens from another dimension attacked last year the other three came to help Hoenn out," Zac said, without a trace of irony. "Tapu Bulu showed up six months late because it overslept. Obviously."

Meanwhile, the flurry of punches had made a little headway in waking up the legendary. Bulu had cracked an eye open, and was snorting in annoyance as the Dragonite hurled punch after punch at it. As soon as the Dragonite bit into the Charja-Cola, the snorts turned to grunts and huffs, as if the bull was starting to put effort into appearing so nonchalant. 

"What?" Zac asked the challenger. "Do you not have interdimensional alien attacks where you're from?"

"Whoa! Look at the fangs on the little guy!" Zac said in amazement. He kneeled down on his pontoon and stuck his head underwater to get a better view at the Huntail. Sure, Feraligatr was no slouch in the teeth department, but Huntail was basically all jaws. The eyes and tail were almost vestigial.  

Zac pulled his head out in time to catch the rest of what Kaida was saying. "Good battle? How about a great battle!" he countered, grinning at her. "Let's go!"

Feraligatr was clearly intimidated by the size of her opponent's jaws, as she made a beeline for the Huntail. She swam in a  sinuous S-shape, propelled along by the broad strokes of her powerful tail. She closed the gap quickly, and surged towards Huntail with her jaws wide open. ICE FANG!

Mantine skipped along the top of the water. As Feralihatr attacked, she dove towards Carvanah. Divide and conquer. Coming at her enemy from above, Mantine launched a powerful jet of shimmering bubbles at the fanged fish. 

Feraligatr used ICE FANG!
Mantine used BUBBLEBEAM!

"I hear that," Zac said, laughing for a split second before the impact.

The gooey form of Bootes splatted against Omni's head like an oversized sticky hand. The Omastar's tentacles stretched from the impact, and his blue, suckered appendages grabbed hold of his enemy is a gooey embrace. Omastar twisted, using his whole body as a singular muscle as he tried to smash Omni into the ground with a jet-propelled SUBMISSION.

"Well, four on four if you're counting us," Zac said, tossing his best buddy an ice cold Charja-Cola. "I, uh, heard that you guys prefer Dr. Pika, but, uh, a friend of ours took the last one," Zac said, delicately avoiding saying anything incriminating that could be picked up by the Rotoms recording the match. 

They walked over to the net, and the referee passed Zac a happy looking Spheal. "They breed these things tough," Zac said, as he tossed the ball high into the air, in what was clearly an illegal maneuver. "You a big sports guy?" he asked, making excellent conversation. "I used to be into extreme frisbee, but I had to give it up after an Arcanine injury." he added. 

Rocko the Garchomp kicked off the sand, soaring after the ball and smashing into it with a DRAGON RUSH spike that sent Spheal careening towards Patrick.

The Discharge burst in the air, turning Zac's hair and beard into a frizzy mess. Buzz was not a battler, she was a speedster, but even still she had seen the attack coming. DETECT

At the last second she dove for a dip in the sand, letting the electricity crackle over his body as she was safely grounded by the blanket of sand. Static zipped and zapped between her scales, as she cautiously perched on the edge of the hole, waiting on Magnezone's next move.
